Unexpected error building on Ventura 13.4
Up to now I've been building my x64 binaries on Sequioa specifying a target macOS level of 13.4. That worked fine. In an attempt to debug a problem that was causing some pain I created a 13.4 x64 build environment and tried to build the code there. This code: using CacheKeyType = std::filesystem::path; using CacheValueType = std::tuple<LoadedImage, int, bool>; // <image, lastUse, currentlyLoading> using CacheType = std::unordered_map<CacheKeyType, CacheValueType>; friend class ThreadLoader; static inline constexpr int16_t MAXIMAGESINCACHE = 20; static inline constinit std::atomic_int age{ 0 }; static inline std::shared_mutex rwMutex{}; static inline CacheType imageCache{}; got me the following errors: /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/MacOSX.platform/Developer/SDKs/MacOSX13.3.sdk/usr/include/c++/v1/__hash_table:838:5: error: static_assert failed due to requirement 'integral_constant<bool, false>::value' "the specified hash does not meet the Hash requirements" static_assert(__check_hash_requirements<_Key, _Hash>::value, ^ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/MacOSX.platform/Developer/SDKs/MacOSX13.3.sdk/usr/include/c++/v1/__hash_table:853:1: note: in instantiation of template class 'std::__enforce_unordered_container_requirements<std::filesystem::path, std::hash<std::filesystem::path>, std::equal_to<std::filesystem::path>>' requested here typename __enforce_unordered_container_requirements<_Key, _Hash, _Equal>::type ^ /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/MacOSX.platform/Developer/SDKs/MacOSX13.3.sdk/usr/include/c++/v1/unordered_map:1152:30: note: while substituting explicitly-specified template arguments into function template '__diagnose_unordered_container_requirements' static_assert(sizeof(__diagnose_unordered_container_requirements<_Key, _Hash, _Pred>(0)), ""); ^ /Users/amonra/.vs/DSS/build/DeepSkyStackerKernel/DeepSkyStackerKernel_autogen/EWIEGA46WW/../../../../DeepSkyStackerKernel/imageloader.h:60:26: note: in instantiation of member function 'std::unordered_map<std::filesystem::path, std::tuple<LoadedImage, int, bool>>::~unordered_map' requested here static inline CacheType imageCache{}; ^ 2 errors generated. Which isn't "mega-helpful" :( I thought that specifying: set(CMAKE_OSX_DEPLOYMENT_TARGET 13.4 CACHE STRING "Minimum operating system version for deployment" FORCE) would have made the compilations use the same headers as for Ventura above, but it seems not? Is this to be expected?

I completed the enrollment for my company in 2024
Hi! I completed the enrollment for my company on April 22, 2024. And since then we have successfully placed our application in the Store and continue to work on it. On March 27, 2025, I needed to renew my participation in the Apple Developer Program and I did it successfully - I received a confirmation letter from you. However, later I discovered that my order was canceled and now, when I go to developer.applе.com, I am offered to go through the enrollment procedure! I'm confused! It is not clear what to do in such a situation?! I will be grateful for any help!

When I inherit from a class assigning SceneLocationView() sceneNode is nil
When I try to post a LocationAnnotations of a subclass respect to the one defining variable sceneLocationView, by way of: sceneLocationView.addLocationNodeWithConfirmedLocation(locationNode: bannerAnnotationLocation) When I enter in: public func addLocationNodeWithConfirmedLocation(locationNode: LocationNode) { if locationNode.location == nil || locationNode.locationConfirmed == false { return } updatePositionAndScaleOfLocationNode(locationNode: locationNode, initialSetup: true, animated: true) locationNodes.append(locationNode) print(sceneNode?.description ?? "nil") self.sceneNode?.addChildNode(locationNode) } I find sceneNode to nil, like if the effect of the renderer is lost when subclassing. I also tried to create a new variable in the subclass also assigning SceneLocationView(), but sceneNode remains nil. What to do to force it to assume a value?

Granting Microphone Access through in-app authorisation request on the VisionOS 2.4 Simulator causes it to crash
When requesting authorisation to gain access to the user's microphone in the visionOS 2.4 simulator, the simulator crashes upon the user clicking allow. Using Swift 6, code below. Blocker: Registering simulator runtime with CoreSimulator failed.
Hello, FWIW I've been developing enterprise iOS apps going on 10 years and haven't seen a bug like this. It's a major blocker. Any advice is welcome. Pulled latest from my team's repository . I ran into a build issue. Reinstalled cocoa pods, resolved swift packages, cleared cache, and then tried to update my iOS simulators... Since then, everything is bricked. Can't side load an app or download a simulator. When I try to download simulator, as suggested by Xcode, I receive the following error: Registering simulator runtime with CoreSimulator failed. I've cleared caches. I cleared project builds and all old simulators. cloudkit server-to-server key confusion
Hi I am a new self taught developer who is atm working on the backend of my app. My app successfully collects location of users and stores it to cloudkits public database. I now want to write a python script and run it on a local server on my windows terminal which fetches users who are in a certain proximity to each other so i can trigger a flow on the app. Can someone first of all tell me if this is even possible the way im attempting it. Also atm all i am doing is generating a server to server key which makes me generate a public and private key and i use the private key file eckey.pem plus key id plus container plus team ID to query the required data. but when i run it i get a 401 error (no authorization). I am so stumped as there arent many resources available to help direct me to the right path. Can someone please offer some help/insight/confidence. thanks alot

Help! Free to paid dev account
I’m very new to mobile app development but not new to application development in general. I’m close to completing my first app and really excited to get things moving along and then hit a major roadblock and am at my wits end with this. I currently have a free account and have been testing on my own phone. I’m ready to move to TestFlight so went to enroll in the paid program and it just says can’t do so at this time. I sent support an email and they said it’s because they can’t identify me. I called and they told me the same thing and that there is literally nothing that can be done. I tried to create a new Apple ID and figured I’d just use it for the dev work I want to do but I can’t even create a new ID. I did have Family Sharing setup with myself as the organize and removed myself from that to ensure nothing was preventing identification. Still nothing. I can’t possibly be the only one that has gone through this. Frustrated is an understatement and getting this app out was really going to be such a big deal for me. So disappointed. Any suggestions?

Empty dSYM file detected & Error: type for self cannot be reconstructed: type for typename
I'm pulling my hair out here with this new Xcode 16, it complains that my app's dSYM is empty though it's clearly not, it's about 25MB. I'm working on a project using an internal static library, everything is built inhouse using swift, we own all the source code. It worked just fine until the other week, when I updated the Xcode, and now I can't debug anything. I keep getting "type for self cannot be reconstructed" when I run "po self.some_property". Why is that? The Debug information Format is set to DWARF with dSYM File for both the executable and lib projects. I've been a Unix guy since before I knew myself and I enjoy fixing things myself, down to bare metal, but man, this bug is driving me crazy. Is it even a bug?? It's the first time in more than 15 years since I started coding on Mac and iPhone when a bug has defeated me. I was always able to fix things using just the documentation and google, but the Apple toolchain is getting worse and worse nowadays. I remember the time when Apple made the complicated things simple, now they make the simple things complicated :( I just split the static lib from the main project one year ago, because of the ridiculously long build time. Should I merge back all the code in a single project? Something seems wrong to me. So I created this account to ask the masters. How can I get back my debug info (and sanity)? Using Xcode 15 is not an option because it doesn't run on Sequoia.

Error build expo EAS
I'm trying to create a new build from VSC through EAS (expo) but it's failing and returning the error I'm attaching. I'm running the command eas build --profile preview --platform ios. I have an "App Manager" account, my colleague has the same role and he can do builds normally. I have other permissions and accesses ok, as can be seen in the attached picture, but apparently I have the issue in "register bundle identifier". Does anyone faced the same issue? How can I solve this? What step I'm missing? Thanks in advance!

Is Apple reading reports in the new Feedback Assistant?
Dear Apple,I'm an iOS developer and provided feedback in the good old online bug tracker for many years.Decent conversations with Apple egnineers often resulted in bug fixes or updated documentation. The fact that my contributions helped to improve the products was rewarding. So I kept adding reports in the new Feedback Assistant app in macOS Catalina. But ever since (September 2019) I never ever got any response on any ticket.1 month ago I even added a report if Apple even read my reports. Again, no response ever since. So my question on this forum: Is Apple actually reading reports in the new Feedback Assistant? This can either be answered by Apple, or by other Developers that hopefully did response feedback from Apple. Or did not.Best regards,Martijn

Workspace with multiple targets for same framework
Hi ! I'm currently stuck with an issue on Xcode, I'll try explain to the best I can :-) I have a workspace (that I need to keep that way, I can't split projects) that contains multiple projects. I have 2 frameworks : Core and Draw. Draw depends on Core. So far so good. I needed to create a test application that can be modular and link my framewok, but also other drawing frameworks. To that extend, I created a CardLIbrary framewok, and a CardAdapter framewok, and I linked them into the test application. Test App └── DrawCardAdapter │ └── CardAdapter │ └── CardLibrary │ └── Core │ └── TCA (SPM) │ └── Draw │ └── Core Here, all dependencies are local ones if not stated otherwise (for the SPM). CardLibrary is a framework that generates only UI (linked to Core for logging purposes, nothing fancy). I also added TCA which is a SPM dependency, it may generate some issues after. CardAdapter is an abstraction for CardLibrary. Basically, it acts as an interface between CardLibrary and Test Application. DrawCardAdapter is the actual implementation of CardAdapter using local Draw framework. Why so complex ? Because I need to be able to do this: Test App └── ExternalDrawCardAdapter │ └── CardAdapter │ └── CardLibrary │ └── Core │ └── TCA (SPM) │ └── ExternalDrawFramework With this architecture, I can create a new ExternalDrawCardAdapter that implents the CardAdapter logic. This new framework does not relies on my Draw framework, and yet, I can still generate a test application that visually looks and feel like all others, but use a completely different drawing engine underneath. To do that, the Test App code only uses inputs and outputs from CardAdapter (the protocol), not concrete implementations like DrawCardAdapter or ExternalDrawCardAdapter. But to be able to make it work, I have 2 test ap targets : a DrawTestApp and a ExternalDrawTestApp. All code files are shared, except a SdkLauncher that is target specific and acutally loads the proper implementation. So the SdkLauncher for DrawTestApp is linked to the DrawCardAdapter (embed and sign) and loads DrawCardAdapter framework, whereas the ExternalDrawTestApp is linked to the ExternalDrawCardAdapter (embed and sign) and loads ExternalDrawCardAdapter framework. Now it looks like this (I only show local stuff othewise it would be too complicated :D) So far so good, this works well. Now, for the part that fails. My Draw and Core frameworks are frameworks that I release for my customers (Cocoapod), and I wanted to be able to test my productions frameworks with the test app (it's that actual purpose of the test app : being able to test development and released SDKs) To do so, I duplicated every target and removed local dependency for a cocoapod dependency. All targets were named -pod, but the actual module and product name are still the same (I tried differently, it did not work either, I'll explain it later). Test App └── DrawCardAdapter │ └── CardAdapter │ └── CardLibrary │ └── Core │ └── TCA (SPM) │ └── Draw │ └── Core │ Test App Pod └── DrawCardAdapter-pod │ └── CardAdapter-pod │ └── CardLibrary-pod │ └── Core-pod │ └── TCA (SPM) │ └── Draw-pod │ └── Core-pod Once again, it's only targets, every project would look like CardAdapter └── CardAdapter └── CardAdapter-pod It continues to use local targets, except for the DrawCardAdapter-pod that actually loads Draw and Core from a Podfile instead of using the lkocal frameworks. But now for the part that fails : even though TestApp-pod does not link any local frameworks, I get a warning Multiple targets match implicit dependency for product reference 'Draw.framework'. Consider adding an explicit dependency on the intended target to resolve this ambiguity. And actually, Xcode ends up packaging the wrong framework. I can check it but showing in the app the Draw framework version, and it's always the local one, not the one specified in the podfile. For the record, I get this message for all 3 frameworks of course. I tried sooooo many things, that did not work of course: renaming the -pod frameworks so that the names are different (I had to rename all imports too). It works for all local frameworks (Lilbrary and Adapter basically), but not for Draw and Core (since I don't have -podversions of thoses framewoks of course). Creating a new local workspace that only handles -pod versions. Does not work since as we work as a team, I have to keep the shared schemes, and all workspaces see all targets and schemes. I also tried with a separate derived data folder, but I end up with some compilation issues. It seems that mixing local, cocoapod and spm dependencies inside the same workspace is not well handled) using explicit Target Dependenciesfrom the build phase. I end up with some compilation issues creating local podspecs for Library and Adapter. It fails because TCA is linked with SPM and apparently not copied when using podspecs. To the few ones that stayed so far, thanks for your patience :D I hope that @eskimo will drop by as you always were my savior in the end :D :D

Request for access to Family Controls entitlement
I have filled the form to request for this access, but it has been 15 days now and I haven’t gotten any feedback. Apple Support said the appropriate team will be in contact with me once it has been approved. It’s been 15 days and still nothing. I just want to know how long it would take, and Apple’s WWDC 2025 is around the corner, I was really looking forward to get this done before then.

Can you use an external macOS device as an Xcode run destination?
Just wondering if it is possible to configure a secondary macbook to act as a run destination in Xcode, similar to how you would configure an iPhone as a run destination. I have tried connecting my device via USB-C and I can see that my macbook detects the second macbook via USB but it does not show up when trying to add devices in Xcode. I suppose this flow might not be supported?

Swift project build process is extremely slow after upgrading to 16.3
For an initial launch of Xcode, the GatherProvisioningInputs usually takes 60 seconds for a simple project. Subsequent build is fast though. But the build process seems got stuck at VeryModule of the MyFramework target, which usually takes 15 seconds.

Granting Microphone Access through in-app authorisation request on the VisionOS 2.4 Simulator causes it to crash
When requesting authorisation to gain access to the user's microphone in the visionOS 2.4 simulator, the simulator crashes upon the user clicking allow. Using Swift 6, code below. Bug Report: FB17667361 @MainActor private func checkMicrophonePermission() async { logger.debug("Checking microphone permissions...") // Get the current permission status let micAuthStatus = AVAudioApplication.shared.recordPermission logger.debug("Current Microphone permission status: \(micAuthStatus.rawValue)") if micAuthStatus == .undetermined { logger.info("Requesting microphone authorization...") // Use structured concurrency to wait for permission result let granted = await withCheckedContinuation { continuation in AVAudioApplication.requestRecordPermission() { allowed in continuation.resume(returning: allowed) } } logger.debug("Received microphone permission result: \(granted)") // Convert to SFSpeechRecognizerAuthorizationStatus for consistency let status: SFSpeechRecognizerAuthorizationStatus = granted ? .authorized : .denied // Handle the authorization status handleAuthorizationStatus(status: status, type: "Microphone") // If granted, configure audio session if granted { do { try await configureAudioSession() } catch { logger.error("Failed to configure audio session after microphone authorization: \(error.localizedDescription)") self.isAvailable = false self.processingError = .audioSessionError(description: "Failed to configure audio session after microphone authorization") } } } else { // Convert to SFSpeechRecognizerAuthorizationStatus for consistency let status: SFSpeechRecognizerAuthorizationStatus = (micAuthStatus == .granted) ? .authorized : .denied handleAuthorizationStatus(status: status, type: "Microphone") // If already granted, configure audio session if micAuthStatus == .granted { do { try await configureAudioSession() } catch { logger.error("Failed to configure audio session for existing microphone authorization: \(error.localizedDescription)") self.isAvailable = false self.processingError = .audioSessionError(description: "Failed to configure audio session for existing microphone authorization") } } } }

Error recording of CPU Profiler in CLI: [Error] Failed to start the recording: Failed to force all hardware CPU counters: 13.
Context I created a short script to CPU profile a program from the command line. I am able to record via the Instruments app, but when I try from the command line I get the following error shown below. This example is just profiling the grep command.
Domain: DVTDownloadableErrorDomain Code: 29 User Info: { DVTErrorCreationDateKey = "2025-05-28 19:18:13 +0000"; } Registering simulator runtime with CoreSimulator failed. I've cleared caches. I cleared project builds and all old simulators. I've reverted to much older previous commits after trying above just in case (even though I've verified no one else on my team is experiencing this issue). Nothing works. I found a post online and tried this command: xcrun devicectl manage ddis update Resulting in this: Host CoreDevice version: 443.19 13:57:32 Updating host DDIs. 13:57:32 Failed to update the host's developer disk images. cloudkit server-to-server key confusion
