Cant update account information or switch to org membership
Hi everyone, I need to update the "Membership details" of my Apple Developer account and for some reason it won't let me. When I click on "Update your information" and select either "Change contact details" or "Switch to organization membership" I just get redirected to https://developer.apple.com/unauthorized This is an old account I'm trying to re-activate, my Apple Developer Program membership has expired. Will renewing the membership solve this? I want to "Switch to organization membership", Will I have to pay again for this? Thanks!

Bug Reporting: How and Why?
I file a lot of bug reports. I also ask a lot of third-party developers to file bug reports about problems they see. This post is my attempt at collecting together some hints and tips about Apple’s bug reporting process. To file a bug report, use Feedback Assistant. To file an enhancement request (ER), use Feedback Assistant. In the “What type of issue are you reporting?” popup, choose Suggestion. If you’re filing a bug against an API, choose Developer Technologies & Resources at the top level. The technologies popup should then list familiar items, from Accelerate Framework to XPC. If you can’t find the correct item, select “Something else not on this list”. Feedback Assistant is both a website and an app. For details on how to access the app, see Opening the app on the Developer > Bug Reporting page. For lots of great hints and tips about filing bugs, see File effective bug reports. I may repeat some of the info covered by that article, but only where I think it’s particularly important. After filing a bug report, please include the bug number in your DevForums post. Feedback Assistant shows the bug number in both the bug list and the bug detail view. Bug numbers start with FB and continue with a sequence of digits. For example, a recent bug report posted here on DevForums was FB11357055. Including the FB prefix avoids any confusion as to what type of bug number this is. Occasionally you’ll see other types of bug numbers. In release notes they are just in parens, so (99071807), and in DTS documents they have an r. prefix, so (r. 99071807). These are Radar numbers. Radar is the internal bug system here at Apple. Other developers can’t see your bug report. However, posting the bug number is still important for a couple of reasons: It allows Apple folks to quickly track down your issue. If another developer wants to file a related bug, they can reference your bug number in their bug report. You can share bug reports with other members of your team. For details on how to do that, see Collaborating with your team on the Developer > Bug Reporting page. Otherwise you can’t see a bug report filed by another developer, or one filed internally at Apple. One option here is to file your own bug and request that it be marked as a duplicate of the original bug. You’ll then be notified when the original bug is closed. The File effective bug reports article discusses the importance of including a sysdiagnose log with your bug report. I have a few additional tips: Include a sysdiagnose log from the machine that’s having the problem. Sometimes I see folks with an iOS problem include a sysdiagnose log for their development Mac )-: Include a sysdiagnose log even if you attach a test project that reproduces the problem. The contents of the log help with screening, making sure that your bug gets to the right person quickly. And that person will be very grateful to have your test project! If multiple machines are involved — for example, you’re reporting a Handoff problem — include a sysdiagnose log from each machine. Trigger the sysdiagnose log as soon as possible after you see the problem. The sooner you trigger the log, the more likely it is to capture relevant info. If the problem is hard to reproduce, see Using a Sysdiagnose Log to Debug a Hard-to-Reproduce Problem for hints on how to capture an actionable sysdiagnose log. If you install a debug profile, install it before you reproduce the problem. These profiles typically enable more logging, and you want that logging to be active at the time of the problem. Most profiles activate immediately but some require that you restart. Follow the instructions that came with the profile. When reproducing the problem, make a rough note of the time and include that in your bug report. This doesn’t have to be super precise. Just note down the time, with seconds, shortly after you reproduce the problem. If the bug involves a crash, reproduce the crash outside of Xcode and then take your sysdiagnose log. This means running your code as the user would, so running an app from the Finder on macOS, running an app from the Home screen on iOS, and so on. If you reproduce the crash inside Xcode, the Xcode debugger catches the crash and prevents the system from generating a crash report to include in the sysdiagnose log. File focused bug reports. Imagine you’re seeing two problems, A and B, related to the same API. Don’t file a single bug that covers both A and B. Rather, file separate bugs for A and B. Feel free to reference your A bug in your B bug, and vice versa. Finally, some personal notes: DevForums is not an official support channel. Mentioning a problem here is not the same as filing a bug about it. That’s true even if you’re discussing your issue with an Apple person. Apple is a big company, and it’s very unlikely that the person you’re talking to is directly responsible for fixing your bug. Historically I used to post a lot of Radar links, of the forms rdar:nnn, where nnn is the bug number. I no longer use these links because I’ve found that they confuses folks. They click the link and wonder why it does nothing. If you post an FB number here, DevForums automatically turns it into a link. However, that link is only useful to you. Other folks can’t access the bug via that link. I’ve filed a bug against DevForums requesting that it only generate this link for the bug’s originator (r. 92946014). In the meantime, I work around this by putting FB numbers in code style, which disables this link generation. If you want to share bug information outside of DevForums, one popular option is Open Radar (https://openradar.appspot.com/). Apple uses a lot of open source and many open source projects maintain their own bug tracker. Two big examples are Swift and WebKit. If your bug originates in such an open source project, consider filing it in the project’s bug tracker. You can then go on to submit a pull request with the fix (-: Share and Enjoy — Quinn “The Eskimo!” @ Developer Technical Support @ Apple let myEmail = "eskimo" + "1" + "@" + "apple.com" Revision History 2026-04-20 Added ER as a shortcut for enhancement request. 2025-08-07 Updated “Developer Technologies & SDKs” to “Developer Technologies & Resources”. 2024-03-07 Made minor editorial changes. 2023-10-26 Added a link to Using a Sysdiagnose Log to Debug a Hard-to-Reproduce Problem. Added a recommendation to file focused bug reports. 2023-06-28 Updated the advice on how to file an API-level bug based on recent changes to Feedback Assistant. Corrected some link titles. 2023-03-21 Added a bunch of bullets to the personal notes section. 2023-03-13 Extended the discussion of seeing other folks’ bugs to make it clear that you can’t see bugs filed internally at Apple. 2022-12-13 Added advice about the “Something else not on this list” option. 2022-09-01 Added a personal notes section at the end. Added a new bullet in the sysdiagnose section about running your app outside of Xcode. Made other minor editorial changes. 2022-08-29 Added a note about filing duplicate bugs. 2022-08-24 First posted.

Unable to submit build – ‘There was an error processing your request’ for several days (Case ID included
Hi everyone, I'm currently experiencing an issue when trying to submit my app/build via App Store Connect. Details: App name: Daily Habit Tracker 2026 Bundle ID: com.DailyHabitTrackerPro.2026 Case ID: 102871415765 Issue: Whenever I try to submit the build (TestFlight / App Review), I get the following error: "There was an error processing your request. Please try again later." This issue has persisted for several days. What I've tried: Retried submission multiple times Waited and tried again later Checked app metadata and settings Contacted Apple Developer Support on April 17, 2026 (no response yet) Question: Has anyone encountered this issue recently? Is this a known backend issue on Apple’s side, or is there anything else I should check? Thanks in advance.

iTunes Search API returning 404 for /search endpoint - April 16, 2026
Is anyone else seeing a sudden outage with the iTunes Search API (https://itunes.apple.com/search) today? As of this morning (April 16), all my requests to the /search endpoint are returning HTTP 404 Not Found. I've tested across multiple countries (us, gb, fr) and entities (software, iPadSoftware), but they all fail with the same error. Interestingly, the /lookup endpoint (e.g., https://itunes.apple.com/lookup?id=[APP_ID]) is still working perfectly fine. What I've checked so far: Apple System Status page is "All Green" (as usual). Tried different IP addresses/regions to rule out local blocking. Tested simple queries like term=car to rule out specific keyword issues. Questions: Are you guys seeing 404s as well, or is it just me? Has anyone heard of a sudden migration or deprecation notice for this legacy endpoint?

AppKit - Legal to Change a View's Frame in -viewDidLayout?
I have (had) a view controller that does a bit of manual layout in a -viewDidLayout override. This was pretty easy to manage - however since introducing NSGlassEffectView into the view hierarchy I sometimes am getting hit with "Unable to simultaneously satisfy constraints" and Appkit would break a constraint to 'recover.' It appears translatesAutoresizingMaskIntoConstraints is creating some really weird fixed width and height constraints. Here I wasn't doing any autolayout - just add the glass view and set its frame in -viewDidLayout. At runtime since I do manual layout in -viewDidLayout the frames are fixed and there is no real "error" in my app in practice though I wanted to get rid of the constraint breaking warning being logged because I know Autolayout can be aggressive about 'correctness' who knows if they decide to throw and not catch in the future. In my perfect world I would probably just prefer a view.doesManualLayout = YES here - the subviews are big containers no labels so localization is not an issue for me. Rather than playing with autoresizing masks to get better translated constraints I decided to set translatesAutoresizingMaskIntoConstraints to NO and make the constraints myself. Now I get hit with the following exception: "The window has been marked as needing another Layout Window pass, but it has already had more Layout Window passes than there are views in the window" So this happens because the view which now has constraints -- I adjusted the frame of it one point in -viewDidLayout. My question is - is not legal to make changes in -viewDidLayout - which seems like the AppKit version of -viewDidLayoutSubviews. In UIKit I always thought it was fine to make changes in -viewDidLayoutSubviews to frames - even if constraints were used - this is a place where you could override things in complex layouts that cannot be easily described in constraints. But in AppKit if you touch certain frames in -viewDidLayout it can now cause this exception (also related: https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/806471) I will change the constant of one of the constraints to account for the 1 point adjustment but my question still stands - is it not legal to touch frames in -viewDidLayout when autolayout constraints are used on that subview? It is (or at least was if I remember correctly) permitted to change the layout in -viewDidLayoutSubviews in UIKit but AppKit seems to be more aggressive in its checking for layout correctness). What about calling -sizeToFit on a control in viewDidLayout or some method that has side effect of invalidating layout in a non obvious way, is doing things like this now 'dangerous?' Shouldn't AppKit just block the layout from being invalidated from within -viewDidLayout - and leave whatever the layout is as is when viewDidLayout returns (thus making -viewDidLayout a useful place to override layout in the rare cases where you need a sledgehammer?)

Trying to load image & identifier from photo library with PhotosPicker
I'm updating an older Mac app written in Objective C and OpenGL to be a mutliplatform app in SwiftUI and Metal. The app loads images and creates kaleidoscope animations from them. It is a document-based application, and saves info about the kaleidoscope into the document. On macOS, it creates a security-scoped bookmark to remember the user's chosen image. On iOS, I use a PhotosPicker to have the user choose an image from their photo library to use. I would like to get the itemIdentifier from the image they choose and save that into my document so I can use it to fetch the image when the user reloads the kaleidoscope document in the future. However, the call to loadTransferable is returning nil for the itemIdentifier. Here is my iOS/iPadOS code: #if os(macOS) // Mac code #else PhotosPicker("Choose image", selection: $selectedItem, matching: .images) .onChange(of: selectedItem) { Task { if let newValue = selectedItem { scopeState.isHEIC = newValue.supportedContentTypes.contains(UTType.heic) let data = try? await newValue.loadTransferable(type: Data.self) print("newValue = \(newValue)") print("newValue.supportedContentTypes = \(newValue.supportedContentTypes)") scopeState.selectedImageID = newValue.itemIdentifier scopeState.selectedImageData = data } } } #endif The debug print statements show: newValue = PhotosPickerItem(_itemIdentifier: "9386762B-C241-4EE2-9942-BC04017E35C1/L0/001", _shouldExposeItemIdentifier: false, _supportedContentTypes: [<_UTCoreType 0x20098cd40> public.png (not dynamic, declared), <UTType 0x11e4ec060> com.apple.private.photos.thumbnail.standard (not dynamic, declared), <UTType 0x11e4ec150> com.apple.private.photos.thumbnail.low (not dynamic, declared)], _content: _PhotosUI_SwiftUI.PhotosPickerItem.(unknown context at $1e75ee3bc).Content.result(PhotosUI.PHPickerResult(itemProvider: <PUPhotosFileProviderItemProvider: 0x11d2bd680> {types = ( "public.png", "com.apple.private.photos.thumbnail.standard", "com.apple.private.photos.thumbnail.low" )}, _objcResult: <PHPickerResult: 0x11b18cff0>))) newValue.supportedContentTypes = [<_UTCoreType 0x20098cd40> public.png (not dynamic, declared), <UTType 0x11e4ec060> com.apple.private.photos.thumbnail.standard (not dynamic, declared), <UTType 0x11e4ec150> com.apple.private.photos.thumbnail.low (not dynamic, declared)] And the returned item has a nil itemIdentifier. (note the _shouldExposeItemIdentifier=false in the log of the selected item). How do I get the itemIdentifier for the user's chosen image? And is that valid to then fetch the asset when the user reloads their document? Is it like a security-scoped bookmark on macOS, where the itemIdentifier is like a key that gives me permission to reload the image? If not, what do I need to do in order to reload the image the next time the user opens a saved kaleidoscope document?

NSOutlineView / NSTableView's Setting lineScroll to a somewhat absurd value of 304 in -tile
So I'm working on adding another component to my app that uses NSOutlineView, as we do in AppKit. There will probably always be less than 25 rows here. One row is much larger than the others. Not sure if any of this matters. What I know is I noticed scrolling it is very jank. It's going way too fast. So I took a peek and see lineScroll is getting is 304 in Interface Builder. Not sure how that happened. I changed it to like 24. Then Interface Builder automatically changes it back to 304. So in -viewDidLoad I just set it: NSScrollView *scrollView = self.outlineView.enclosingScrollView; scrollView.verticalLineScroll = 24.0; scrollView.lineScroll = 24.0; But scrolling still is busted. So I subclass NSScrollView and override the setters. For some reason, NSTableView's -tile method is deciding to change the lineScroll to 304, all on its own. So every time tile is called. line scrolls get reset to 304.

Sandboxed app loses iCloud Drive access mid-session on macOS 26 — kernel refuses sandbox extension, FP client rejected (NSFileProviderErrorDomain -2001)
Starting somewhere around macOS 26.3, my sandboxed file manager spontaneously loses access to ~/Library/Mobile Documents mid-session. Setup: at launch, the user grants access to '/', '/Users', or '~' via NSOpenPanel; I store a security-scoped bookmark and call startAccessingSecurityScopedResource(). This works fine - including iCloud Drive - until some point mid-session. When it breaks, two things happen simultaneously: Enumeration fails: NSCocoaErrorDomain Code=257 (NSFileReadNoPermissionError)< NSPOSIXErrorDomain Code=1 (EPERM) Console shows the kernel refusing extension issuance: couldn't issue sandbox extension com.apple.app-sandbox.read for '/Users//Library/Mobile Documents': Operation not permitted And probing NSFileProviderManager confirms the process has been rejected system-wide: NSFileProviderManager.getDomainsWithCompletionHandler > NSFileProviderErrorDomain Code=-2001 "The application cannot be used right now." (underlying Code=-2014) What makes this specific to FP-backed paths: regular paths under the same '/' bookmark (~/Library/Application Support, etc.) stay accessible and recover normally with a fresh startAccessingSecurityScopedResource() call. Only ~/Library/Mobile Documents and its subtree fail - the entire tree, including the parent directory itself. Relaunch always restores access. What I've tried and ruled out: Re-resolving the bookmark + startAccessingSecurityScopedResource() - returns stale=false, granted=true but access is not restored; the kernel still refuses extension issuance for FP-traversing paths. NSFileCoordinator coordinated read - doesn't help; the coordinator depends on the same sandbox extension the kernel is refusing. Instantiating NSFileProviderManager(for: domain) per domain - fails with -2001 for every domain, confirming the rejection is process-wide, not path- or domain-specific. My working theory: when a FileProvider daemon (bird/cloudd/fileproviderd) restarts mid-session, the process's FP-client XPC registration is invalidated, and the kernel subsequently refuses to issue sandbox extensions for any path served by FP - even with a valid bookmark. The process seems to have no API path to re-register its FP-client identity without relaunching. Current workaround: I detect the -2001 response and prompt the user to relaunch, then do a programmatic self-relaunch if they confirm (which is obviously horribly intrusive). Questions: Is there an API that lets a sandboxed consumer app reconnect its FP-client identity mid-session, short of relaunching? Is there an entitlement or capability that would make the kernel's extension issuance resilient to FP daemon restarts? Has anyone else hit this on 26.x and found a workaround? Filed as FB22547671.

Driverkit driver hangs on macOS
Hello, I have crated a DriverKit driver for macOS and iPad M-series if I ever get the mac driver working. I have the correct entittlements, and matching provisioning profile downloaded manually. The driver loads (no errors!), and is visible in ioreg below the usb device (when plugged). The issue is that I never get any log from the driver, have reduced to minimal working code (below). When I debug with lldb, I load the symbols for my driver and break on init and Start - but lldb never triggers == never calls start or init. This is also why no logs. When I unplug the device, the driver process (ps aux) keeps running, causes a hard crash of the Mac with dext remove/or kill driver.dext process. I have asked Claude - but its just running in circles: check Info.plist=ok, check entitlements=ok, check code (minimal)=ok, check iig=ok, check provisioning profile=ok, check build settings=ok, check ioreg=ok, check code signature=ok, start over I don't get any log from my driver, which is consistent with init() not being called. All logs from kernel & friends (AMFI) do show the driver loading - no errors. Any tips appreciated! // USBDriver.iig #ifndef USBDriver_h #define USBDriver_h #include <USBDriverKit/IOUSBHostInterface.iig> class USBDriver: public IOService { public: virtual bool init() override; virtual void free() override; virtual kern_return_t Start(IOService * provider) override; virtual kern_return_t Stop(IOService * provider) override; }; // USBDriver.cpp #include <os/log.h> #include <DriverKit/DriverKit.h> #include "USBDriver.h" bool USBDriver::init() { if (!super::init()) return false; os_log(OS_LOG_DEFAULT, "terminal.driver: init()"); return true; } kern_return_t IMPL(USBDriver, Start) { os_log(OS_LOG_DEFAULT, "terminal.driver: Start()"); kern_return_t ret = super::Start(provider); if (ret != kIOReturnSuccess) { os_log(OS_LOG_DEFAULT, "terminal.driver: super::Start failed: 0x%08x", ret); return ret; } os_log(OS_LOG_DEFAULT, "terminal.driver: Start() success"); return super::Start(provider); } kern_return_t IMPL(USBDriver, Stop) { os_log(OS_LOG_DEFAULT, "terminal.driver: Stop()"); return super::Stop(provider); } void USBDriver::free() { os_log(OS_LOG_DEFAULT, "terminal.driver: free()"); super::free(); }

Unable to Create Apple Account for Developer Organization Enrollment (‘Your account cannot be created at this time’)
Hi! I'm a first-time app founder trying to enroll my business in the Apple Developer Program as an Organization. I already have a personal Apple ID, so I'm trying to create a separate, brand new Apple Account using my business email for the enrollment. Every time I complete the account creation form and go through the verification code step, I get the error: 'Your account cannot be created at this time.' Things I've already tried: Personal cell phone number for verification A Google Voice number for verification Different browsers The Apple Developer app Different WiFi networks I only have one iPhone and one cell number, both already tied to my personal Apple ID. My D&B DUNS number is confirmed, the only blocker is creating this new Apple Account. Is there a known solution for this? It seems like it must be a common situation for small business owners who use one device for both personal and business. Any help appreciated!

Apple reviewer not seeing product pricing in paywall
Hello, I have a perplexing issue with apple reviewers not having the same experience as myself regarding the paywall. This is an Expo app and uses RevenueCat and SuperWall integrations. This app is going through its first review - it is not published yet. So the app and its subscriptions are being reviewed for the first time. I should also mention that this is my first time as an app developer, so please pardon my ignorance. When I install the app from TestFlight and launch it, I see the paywall with the product prices shown and I can complete a test purchase. Same for my friends who I've asked to test for me. But the apple reviewer does not see the product prices when the paywall is shown to them. Without being able to replicate the problem I am flying blind. I don't want to re-submit the app for review only to find the same problem exists. I also need to understand what is different between my testing environment and the apple testers. If anyone can point me in the right direction here I would really appreciate the help!

ATT and Google AdMob
Hi, I created an app and want to use Google Admob to show ads. I am a little bit confused how exactly tracking, more specifically, the ATT-framework and Google Admob relate to each other. The current work flow is: ATT-permission given -> show google ad mob consent form However, I am confused what I should do if the ATT permission is denied. Can I still show the consent form of google admobs or is that forbidden? If so what do I need to then? Thank you!

Why is the .opacity AnyTransition is marked as nonisolated(unsafe)
Because of this, in Swift 6 mode, Xcode complains about the access, and ask me to use unsafe keyword. To fix it, I need to do this: Anyone can explain this abrupt nonisolated(unsafe) change?

Hello, I have crated a DriverKit driver for macOS and iPad M-series if I ever get the mac driver working. I have the correct entittlements, and matching provisioning profile downloaded manually. The driver loads (no errors!), and is visible in ioreg below the usb device (when plugged). The issue is that I never get any log from the driver, have reduced to minimal working code (below). When I debug with lldb, I load the symbols for my driver and break on init and Start - but lldb never triggers == never calls start or init. This is also why no logs. When I unplug the device, the driver process (ps aux) keeps running, causes a hard crash of the Mac with dext remove/or kill driver.dext process. I have asked Claude - but its just running in circles: check Info.plist=ok, check entitlements=ok, check code (minimal)=ok, check iig=ok, check provisioning profile=ok, check build settings=ok, check ioreg=ok, check code signature=ok, start over I don't get any log from my driver, which is consistent with init() not being called. All logs from kernel & friends (AMFI) do show the driver loading - no errors. Any tips appreciated! // USBDriver.iig #ifndef USBDriver_h #define USBDriver_h #include <USBDriverKit/IOUSBHostInterface.iig> class USBDriver: public IOService { public: virtual bool init() override; virtual void free() override; virtual kern_return_t Start(IOService * provider) override; virtual kern_return_t Stop(IOService * provider) override; }; // USBDriver.cpp #include <os/log.h> #include <DriverKit/DriverKit.h> #include "USBDriver.h" bool USBDriver::init() { if (!super::init()) return false; os_log(OS_LOG_DEFAULT, "terminal.driver: init()"); return true; } kern_return_t IMPL(USBDriver, Start) { os_log(OS_LOG_DEFAULT, "terminal.driver: Start()"); kern_return_t ret = super::Start(provider); if (ret != kIOReturnSuccess) { os_log(OS_LOG_DEFAULT, "terminal.driver: super::Start failed: 0x%08x", ret); return ret; } os_log(OS_LOG_DEFAULT, "terminal.driver: Start() success"); return super::Start(provider); } kern_return_t IMPL(USBDriver, Stop) { os_log(OS_LOG_DEFAULT, "terminal.driver: Stop()"); return super::Stop(provider); } void USBDriver::free() { os_log(OS_LOG_DEFAULT, "terminal.driver: free()"); super::free(); }

Guideline 5.1.1 - Nike vs Small Brands
My app was declined for violation of Guideline 5.1.1. I'm very confused though, because a shopping app like Nike is permitted to not allow anyone into their app if they don't "Sign Up/Log In", yet my client a smaller first time app maker, isn't allowed to do the same? Why is it okay for a company like Nike to do it but not smaller brands?

Thank you!

Hello, I have an issue with In-App Purchases during App Review. In TestFlight and Sandbox, everything works correctly: Products are loaded Subscriptions are visible Purchase completes successfully However, Apple reports that the purchase fails during review. My subscriptions are: Created and active in App Store Connect Attached to the app version Paid Apps Agreement accepted I also added all required information (price, duration, EULA, privacy policy). Why would purchases work in TestFlight but fail during App Review? Thank you for your help.
