Manage Safari 26 top bar transparency (Mac)
Hello from Leipzig, Germany! I noticed that when vertically scrolling in Safari 26 on my Mac, the content of the website I am currently working on is visible in the tab and URL bar with a liquid glass effect. I then looked at various other websites. Some websites have an opaque top bar. Some websites have a transparent top bar where content is visible when scrolling. On the Apple website, the top bar is opaque in light mode but transparent in dark mode. Unfortunately, I can't find a way to control this behavior. Has anyone found out more about this?

Incorrect website rendering under iOS 26.2
Starting with iOS 26.2, when Safari tabs are set to Bottom or Compact view, some pages are not rendering properly. The error does not occur in Top view. For some pages, scrolling causes rendering to be very slow, causing the user to experience page breaks and missing parts. If the user waits a few seconds, the missing parts of the page will appear, but the issue will reoccur when scrolling further. We have tested this on all available iOS devices and the issue occurs on all iPhones running iOS 26.2. The issue does not occur on iOS 26.1, and we have not experienced it on devices running iOS 18. The issue can be reproduced on the following pages with an iPhone running iOS 26.2: https://fotosakademia.hu/products/course/fotografia-kozephaladoknak-haladoknak https://oktatas.kurzusguru.hu/products/course/az-online-kurzuskeszites-alapjai

Getting started with PHP ..
I am new to PHP. I have developed my own web site with a lot of javascript in simple HTML files. I want to do some extensions with PHP but I can't make a simple web page function. I am sure something simple is wrong. Help! Here is the test web page I made: hello.html <html>  <head>   <title>Hello World</title>  </head>  <body>   <?php echo 'Hello World!'; ?>  </body> </html> Pointing Safari at hello.html gives me a new tab with the correct title, but no "Hello World" in the page itself. Here is the output of php --version: WARNING: PHP is not recommended PHP is included in macOS for compatibility with legacy software. Future versions of macOS will not include PHP. Safari falsely flags our secure site (outdoorgala.com) as deceptive — how to request a review
Hi Apple Devs & WebKit Team, We operate https://outdoorgala.com — a verified, HTTPS-secure Canadian ecommerce site focused on elite outdoor safety gear. We're Indigenous-owned, based in Alberta, and take customer trust and compliance seriously. However, Safari (iOS + macOS) is falsely flagging our site as “deceptive,” preventing customers from accessing us — even though: We use GoDaddy Website Builder with no redirections or malware All product links are clean, HTTPS-secure, and tracked ethically We recently implemented a fully compliant cookie banner (Accept/Decline logic) A public security.txt and OpenPGP key has been published: https://outdoorgala.com/security No phishing, malware, or cloaking behavior exists on the site We’ve already submitted a review via: ➡️ https://websitereview.apple.com And filed a bug report via Feedback Assistant (FB17608544) What else can be done to speed up review or get flagged domains unblocked in Safari? This is hurting our business and blocking consumer access — despite following all Apple guidelines. Would appreciate any insights or escalation tips. Thank you! – Derek Eiteneier Founder, Outdoor Gala

Universal Links not opening my app.
My app has been published by 2 months now I still I cant get Universal Links to work. I checked a lot of docs as well as videos about setting up universal links. Everyone with clear steps: Add the well-known json file to the server. Already validated by AASA web validator. Add the Associated domain on project capabilities, with the Web page root only. Eg: applinks:example:com. Install the app and trying clicking a link from notepad. Or instead make a long press to deploy contextual menu to see if my app is on the selectable options to open the link. My app is not been open in any of my attempts and the console always trying to use safari. I had a couple of screenshots of my testing. I really need help with this.

Safari Web Extension: This extension can read ... including passwords...
I want to migrate from a Safari App Extension to a Safari Web Extension, but don't know how to get rid of the message, telling users that my extension can access their passwords. Here is a message which I see: I was thinking that this might be because all Safari Web Extension get this type of access, but I have a Safari Web Extension which does not require such level of access: Here is the manifest: { "manifest_version": 2, "default_locale": "en", "name": "__MSG_extension_name__", "description": "__MSG_extension_description__", "version": "1.1", "icons": { "48": "images/icon-48.png" }, "background": { "scripts": [ "background.js" ], "persistent": true }, "browser_action": { "default_popup": "popup.html", "default_icon": { "16": "images/toolbar-icon-16.png" } }, "permissions": [ "nativeMessaging", "tabs" ] } and here is the Info.plist file: Here is the entire code of the extension: https://github.com/kopyl/web-extension-simplified

[iOS 26 Beta] event.target.value is always empty — only from specific script domains
Hey everyone, After installing iOS 26 beta, I started noticing unexpected behavior in our input event handlers. Specifically, when users type into an field, event.target.value is always an empty string — but only when the JS file is loaded from a specific domain (e.g., t1.daumcdn.net). The exact same code works perfectly when hosted on other domains like t2.daumcdn.net or search1.daumcdn.net. 👉 I created a demo here: 🔗 https://codepen.io/bzasklcu-the-sans/pen/rNXogxL The scripts loaded from each domain are 100% identical (apart from the top-level selector). Before iOS 26 beta, this worked fine. I suspect this is related to ITP or some new cross-origin behavior in Safari, but I’d love to know if anyone else is running into this — or if someone knows a workaround. Thanks!

Authenticator app not reopening my PWA
I have a simple website, that I would like to make available as a progressive webapp, so I can somewhat customize what happens when people add the website to their homescreen (using the Share button) and maybe, in the future, use PWABuilder or something similar to publish it in some stores. My website needs authentication using OIDC, which after some redirects within the PWA opens an authenticator app on the phone. When the app returns from authenticating however, it opens a new browser tab instead of my PWA, so there is no context and the login fails. I am under the impression that this used to work, but I'm not sure. I'm also not sure what the problem is, I have no idea how, when the Authenticator app opens a URL (which is what I assume is happening under the hood), iOS or Safari or whatever would know which app to open (as the redirect URL is to the OIDC Idp, not the URL of my Web app). Any hints where I could look for a solution? Thanks!

PAC ( Automatic Proxy Configuration ) Script Not working with Safari MacOS version 15.1
We have written a PAC script that blocklists certain domains and whitelists others. We went to Settings > Network > Wi-Fi (the network we are using), then clicked on Details, and under Proxies, we added the PAC file URL in the Automatic Proxy Configuration section. We tried hosting the PAC file both on localhost and on a separate HTTP server. After saving the settings, we tested several URLs. The blocking and allowing behavior works correctly in all browsers except Safari. Below is the PAC script we are using for your reference. The script works as expected in browsers other than Safari. This is how the PAC script URL looks: http://localhost:31290/proxy.pac function FindProxyForURL(url, host) { var blacklist = new Set(["facebook.com", "deepseek.com"]); var b_list = [...blacklist]; for (let i = 0; i < b_list.length; i++) { let ele = b_list[i] + "*"; if (shExpMatch(host, ele) || shExpMatch(url, ele)) { return "PROXY localhost:8086"; } } if (isIPBlocked(whitelist_subnet, hostIP)) { return "PROXY localhost:8087"; } if (isIPBlocked(blacklist_subnet, hostIP)) { return "PROXY localhost:8086"; } return "PROXY localhost:8080"; }

blockedByFilter = .specific(domains) does not work on Safari
Hi there, I have a popular open source app called Foqos. What I'm finding in iOS 26 (might even effect older versions) is that when using the webcontent api within Managed settings as the following: store.webContent.blockedByFilter = .specific(domains) It doesn't work on Safari, but does work on third party applications like chrome, firefox, etc. But when using the all and exception enum like the following store.webContent.blockedByFilter = .all(except: domains) This does work on Safari This is pretty inconsistent behavior of the API and should be fixed to match the documentation. Documentation does not mention anything about Safari limitations Again source code is open: https://github.com/awaseem/foqos You can run the app yourself and find the same issues. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Worker load was blocked by Cross-Origin-Embedder-Policy
Hello, I am developing a website which starts a web worker using the js code: const zarrWorker = new Worker('./zarr_file.js', { type: 'module' });. The script 'zarr_file.js' is served from the same origin with Cross-Origin-Embedder-Policy: require-corp and Cross-Origin-Opener-Policy: same-origin and it is importing external modules through the import statement (e.g. import * as zarr from "https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/zarrita/+esm";). All the external modules are blocked by Safari with the error Worker load was blocked by Cross-Origin-Embedder-Policy, although I can see (by running curl on them) that they correctly set cross-origin-resource-policy: cross-origin`. The same website works fine in Chrome and Firefox. Is it a bug or is Safari implementing stricter policies? In the latter case what would be the solution?

iOS26.2 webview use websocket cause net lose
I found that on iPhone 15 and later models, after upgrading to iOS 16.2, if a WKWebView's HTML page frequently receives large WebSocket data packets, it may trigger a rare bug: the already loaded WebView page can no longer establish network connections. Both HTTPS and WebSocket connections time out, and the network in the entire app becomes unusable. Even creating a new WebView instance to load a new page fails—it stays blank. Reloading a previously loaded WebView also results in a blank screen. (call [webview reload])Currently, the only solution when this happens is to restart the app. Reproduction environment: iPhone 15 and later models, iOS 26.2, cellular data (not reproducible on Wi-Fi) Log situation: When the blank screen occurs, the webViewWebContentProcessDidTerminate callback is not triggered. When creating a new webview instance and reloading a page during reproduction, only the didStartProvisionalNavigation callback is triggered, and no failure callbacks in Navigation are triggered.

Unable to load CSS fonts from WKURLSchemeHandler in a https website
I am trying to cache fonts natively in a hybrid app, so that CSS hosted in an https website loaded in WKWebView through loadRequest can reference them like this for a performance boost: @font-face { font-family: 'MyFont'; src: url('my-assets://Gordita-bold-subset.woff') format('woff'); font-weight: normal; font-style: normal; } The problem happens when I register a WKURLSchemeHandler for my-assets. The handler never gets called and the Safari Web Insepctor shows this: [blocked] The page at https://www.x.com/ requested insecure content from my-assets://Gordita-bold-subset.woff. This content was blocked and must be served over HTTPS. Interestingly enough, if we try to serve content with <img src="my-assets://test.png" this restriction does not apply. Are there any workarounds other than using the private API WKProcessPool._registerURLSchemeAsSecure?
