Icon dark mode not working on iPadOS
I updated the icons in Xcode to customize the appearance of my app icons to be light, dark, or tinted. The app is allowed to be downloaded and run on iPadOS. The app icon behaves as expected on iOS however the app icon does not change on the iPad. Am I missing a step for the iPad? To be clear the app does not target iPadOS rather it is just running the iOS version. Thanks kof

CoreML memory allocation logic
hello, I got a question about coreml. I loaded the coreml model in the project and set the computing unit to CPU+GPU. When I used instruments to analyze the performance, I found that there was an overhead of prepare gpu request before each inference. I also checked the freezing point graph and found that memory was frequently allocated. Is this as expected? Is there any way to avoid frequent prepares? I have tried some methods, such as memory sharing of predict interface input parameters, but it seems to be ineffective.

What is the unit used for the availableKilobytes property of the target object?
In the online documentation for InstallerJS, it is stated that the unit for the availableKilobytes property of the target field is kilobytes. Isn't it actually bytes because of a bug in the very first release of macOS that supported InstallerJS? [Q] Has there been a fix in the recent years regarding this property that would explain why the documentation says it's kilobytes? Even though at the time of this writing, the unit is still bytes when you call my.target.availableKilobytes I'm using this call to dump the value of this property in install.log: system.log(my.target.availableKilobytes + ''); Ref. https://developer.apple.com/documentation/installer_js/target/1811975-availablekilobytes (FB20448952)

Unable to apply stashed changes
I am trying to perform an unstash operation. I RC on the stash to restore, select "Apply Stashed Changes". It then launches a comparison window to allow me to cherrypick the changes I want to include. However, the button along the bottom, "Apply Changes" is grayed out and remains so no matter what I do. Switching stashes, exiting and restarting xcode. TG i made an emergency project backup right before I did the stash, just for a case like this. Bug? Feature?

Xcode Code coverage shows zero; even after 245 successful tests
I have a project inside the project structure. I have around 300 unit tests in the project. I see that for some of the subprojects, the coverage numbers show up correctly, but for other subprojects and the main project, the coverage number shows zero, even though the tests are running successfully. The log I get is: Aggregation tool emitted warnings: warning: /Users/ABC/Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData/projectABC-hfzmkbdgpiswoxfvvnvhrafaiqyb/Build/ProfileData/A8EEC1FB-1699-4C29-A88C-D3DDA226DBC0/0A416494-A393-4319-AA47-502D72084C9C-43351.profraw: raw profile version mismatch: Profile uses raw profile format version = 8; expected version = 10 PLEASE update this tool to the version in the raw profile, or regenerate the raw profile with the expected version. I only have one Xcode (26.0.1) on my machine. I tried cleaning the derived data, the cleaning project, and rerunning the tests, but it hasn't helped. Please help me get the coverage number back. Thank you.

App crashing on real iPhone only (working fine on simulator and Xcode preview)
Hi, I'm currently facing an issue where my React Native app crashes only on a real iPhone. On the simulator and in Xcode preview, the app runs fine. Previously, I had an issue with FlatList regarding props.getItem, which I solved by installing some missing Babel dependencies. After that, everything worked correctly in the simulator. But when I try to open the app on a real device, it shows the splash screen and crashes immediately. I've already done a full clean and reset, including: npx react-native start --reset-cache Deleted node_modules and Pods, reinstalled everything Cleaned build folder via Xcode Deleted DerivedData Restarted Metro bundler and simulator/device The issue only happens on the physical device. WatchOS Xcode 16.4 to sample live RR intervals from the PPG sensor ERROR
Hi, I am getting an error stating "Argument passed to call that takes no arguments". I want this Apple Watch App to measure and store RR Intervals from the PPG sensor on the Apple Watch for Heart Rate Variability calculations. Please help me fix this, I can't figure it out. Here is my code: heartbeatQuery = HKHeartbeatSeriesQuery(predicate: predicate, dataReceivedHandler: { (query, timeSinceLastBeat, ended, error) in // Switch to main thread for UI updates DispatchQueue.main.async { if let error = error { print("Heartbeat query error: (error.localizedDescription)") self.fetchErrorMessage = "Heartbeat query error: (error.localizedDescription)" // Consider stopping the workout session if the query fails critically // self.stopWorkoutSession() return } if ended { print("Heartbeat query indicates series ended.") } // Append valid RR intervals if timeSinceLastBeat > 0 { self.rrIntervals.append(timeSinceLastBeat) self.beatCount += 1 } } // End DispatchQueue.main.async }) // End query data handler // --- END OF PROBLEMATIC INITIALIZER --- // Execute the query if it was created successfully It recommends the fix as removing this part: '(predicate: predicate, dataReceivedHandler: { (query, timeSinceLastBeat, ended, error) in // Switch to main thread for UI updates DispatchQueue.main.async { if let error = error { print("Heartbeat query error: (error.localizedDescription)") self.fetchErrorMessage = "Heartbeat query error: (error.localizedDescription)" // Consider stopping the workout session if the query fails critically // self.stopWorkoutSession() return } if ended { print("Heartbeat query indicates series ended.") } // Append valid RR intervals if timeSinceLastBeat > 0 { self.rrIntervals.append(timeSinceLastBeat) self.beatCount += 1 } } // End DispatchQueue.main.async })' But after I remove that it says "Cannot assign value of type 'HKHeartbeatSeriesQuery.Type' to type 'HKHeartbeatSeriesQuery'" PLEASE HELP ME Thanks

SchemeBuildError: Failed to build the scheme
I have an iOS app, and I am trying to add a companion WatchOS app. My iOS app depends on 2 libraries: GoogleMobileAds FirebaseAnalyticsWithoutAdIdSupport When I add a new target for WatchOS, the preview build starts to fail. I am not adding any libraries to WatchOS. The Google Ads and Firebase Analytics libs are only under the iOS target. I am unable to run the preview, I get an error when trying to build the watch scheme. The preview does not work. The build just crashes. I've included the error log below. But, here are the steps I've tried so far: Delete folders inside Derived Data Run a clean build (Cmd + Option + Shift + K) Delete scheme and create a new one Reset Package Cache Restart Xcode Restart Macbook But, it just does not work. I do not understand why the watchOS target is erroring for "GoogleUserMessagingPlatform" and "GoogleMobileAdsTarget" when those packages are not linked/used for the watchOS. SchemeBuildError: Failed to build the scheme “timerWatch Watch App” While building for watchOS Simulator, no library for this platform was found in '/Users/k/Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData/timer-dhkdhvfcqtfgskfdxpmupujswtuh/SourcePackages/artifacts/swift-package-manager-google-user-messaging-platform/UserMessagingPlatform/UserMessagingPlatform.xcframework'. Objective-C headers build fine with swift but not with Xcode
On my M4 Mac running macOS 15.5 using Xcode 16.4 & Xcode CLT 16.4, Swift code in my Swift Package Manager 5.9 project (https://github.com/mas-cli/mas) builds fine against some included Objective-C headers via the following command line: swift build -c release But cannot find modules for the included Objective-C headers when building inside Xcode 16.4 or with the following command line on the same Mac: xcodebuild -scheme mas -configuration Release -destination platform=macOS,arch=arm64,variant=macos The error is: Sources/mas/AppStore/AppleAccount.swift:9:16: error: no such module 'StoreFoundation' How can I get Xcode / xcodebuild to work? Note that the project is normally built by running: Scripts/build which runs: swift build -c release after running the following script, which must be run before any build (swift, Xcode, or xcodebuild) because it generates a necessary file (Sources/mas/Package.swift): Scripts/generate_package_swift I've tried moving the Objective-C headers into include subfolders of their existing module folders, using double quotes instead of angle brackets for the #import statements, having module.modulemap files in the include subfolders or their parent module folder, and moving the module folders one level up the file hierarchy, to no avail. I've also tried various changes to the root-level Package.swift (not the generated one deeper in the hierarchy, which isn't inclined in the build configuration), like making separate library targets for each of the Objective-C modules, various swiftSettings & linkerSettings, etc. Maybe some of those changes would have helped, but maybe they were in incorrect combinations. Thanks for any help.

Xcode 16.2: build fails with errors from another project
When I thought Xcode could not get any worse, here's the most absurd thing I have ever seen developing software in almost 20 years of work. When building a project, which I haven't touched lately, and last time it was building just fine, it raised errors on a class that doesn't even belong in any way to such project, it only exists in another one. To clarify, we're talking of a project written in C++ which runs only on mac, which is failing due to linker errors, where the linker can not find symbols of a class living in a different project and that is not referenced in any way inside this project. I mean, really? how does Apple manage to make Xcode more and more unstable by the minute? Starting from Xcode 15.1 I was already experiencing much longer building times, due to the fact that it doesn't manage the cache properly and is rebuilding lots of stuff every time..

iOS app build error with iOS 18 SDK and Xcode 16
Hi, I am able to build my iOS app successfully, developed in objective-C with iOS 17.5 SDK and Xcode 15. Due to requirement of Appstore we are trying to build with iOS 18 SDK and Xcode 16. When building getting error in LAEnvironmentState.h file: a) "Property requires field to be named" b) "Expected member name or ';' after declaration specifiers" Same app when opening with Xcode 15 gets build without any issue. Any help/suggestion would be appreciated.

Xcode 16 Build & Archive Error - SPM
Since upgrading from Xcode 15 to 16, we have been experiencing a build error during compilation. Building on Xcode 15 still works with no issues. The error happens only on the first build after a clean. Subsequent builds succeed. This is an issue because our CI process archives the project from a clean slate, and this causes it to fail every time. I will attempt to describe the issue and include information I believe is relevant in this document. The error occurs on this import line within an Objective-C file during the Scan Dependencies step of compiling. This line imports our custom Objective-C to Swift bridging header file - "Swift2Objc.h". Our custom Objective-C to Swift bridging header file is simply wrapping the project’s auto-generated Objective-C to Swift bridging header file - "KWISwift.h". The error is specific to the import of the OfflineServices Swift Package. Specifically, the OfflineServices-Swift.h file - the Swift Package’s auto-generated Objective-C to Swift bridging file. Module JRE not found - the exact error (Also included as text on the bottom of the post) JRE is a third-party library provided to us as an xcframework. It is placed directly into our Swift Package as a binary target. The xcframework itself is composed of .a file and a Headers folder which includes header files and a module.modulemap. The module.modulemap file looks like this.

In "Learning Programming 2", I can't use "world.place"
I'm trying the "Connect and Solve" course of Swift Playground. I can't use "world.place" to place bricks at positions (2, 2), (6, 2) (automatically disappear), but I can place bricks at positions (4, 2) in the same way. Two bricks must be placed overlapping in positions (2, 2) and (6, 2) to achieve the goal. Only when a brick is placed in position (4, 2) can the goal be achieved. The problem is that the bricks placed on (6, 2) and (2, 2) will disappear and cannot be placed successfully. The following is my code writing... let Block1 = Block() for i in 1 ... 2 { world.place(Block1, atColumn: 2, row: 2) } for i in 1 ... 2 { world.place(Block1, atColumn: 6, row: 2) } world.place(Block1, atColumn: 4, row: 2) func turnaround() { turnRight() turnRight() } func walk4() { for i in 1 ... 3 { moveForward() } } func collet() { for i in 1 ... 2 { moveForward() } toggleSwitch() turnRight() walk4() collectGem() turnaround() walk4() turnRight() } for i in 1 ... 3 { collet() } ‌I would appreciate it if someone could offer some recommendations.‌ ‌Thanks a lot‌

"Application has not loaded accessibility" timeout followed by silent auto-recovery corrupts framework state on iOS 18
On iOS 18, when XCUITest encounters an "Application has not loaded accessibility" error after the 60 second timeout, it performs an undocumented auto-recovery ("Setting up automation session") instead of halting the test as documented. This leaves the XCUITest framework in a corrupted state, causing subsequent tests in the same session to fail with unexpected behavior. Expected Behavior (per Apple documentation): Any failure in the launch sequence will be reported as a test failure and the test will be halted at that point. Actual Behavior: XCUITest waits 60 seconds for accessibility to load Logs "Application has not loaded accessibility" error Instead of halting, performs "Setting up automation session" (auto-recovery) Test continues with corrupted framework state Subsequent tests in the same session fail with phantom element queries Steps Run XCUITest suite on a real iOS 18 device Have an app with moderately heavy initialization (e.g., synchronous network operations during bootstrap) Observe intermittent "accessibility not loaded" errors When error occurs, subsequent tests fail with unexpected behavior Test Logs Evidence First test (accessibility failure + recovery): t = 11.11s Wait for accessibility to load t = 71.14s Capturing diagnostic spindump t = 76.24s Assertion Failure: Application 'com.example.app' has not loaded accessibility t = 76.26s Setting up automation session ← Undocumented recovery t = 77.29s Tear Down Second test (corrupted state): t = 35.01s Tap "signin-button" t = 35.55s Waiting for "bannerButtonStackFirstItem" ← Query NOT in test code! t = 40.58s Assertion Failure: Failed to find element The second test executes element queries that do not exist in its source code, indicating leaked/corrupted state from the previous test's failed recovery. Note: The tearDown() method terminates the app but cannot reset the internal state of the XCUITest framework itself, so corruption persists across tests. We are observing this behavior consistently on iOS 18 real devices. We would like to know: Is this a known issue with XCUITest on iOS 18? Is anyone experiencing similar "accessibility not loaded" failures followed by auto-recovery? Is the "Setting up automation session" recovery behavior intentional or a bug? Is there a recommended workaround to prevent framework state corruption between tests?

Here’s a portion of the crash log IDate/Time: 2025-04-14 19:11:28.6796 -0300 Launch Time: 2025-04-14 19:11:28.5292 -0300 OS Version: iPhone OS 18.3.2 (22D82) Release Type: User Baseband Version: 4.20.03 Report Version: 104 Exception Type: EXC_CRASH (SIGABRT) Exception Codes: 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000 Termination Reason: SIGNAL 6 Abort trap: 6 Terminating Process: JazminChebar [1973] Triggered by Thread: 0 Last Exception Backtrace: 0 CoreFoundation 0x19a0865fc __exceptionPreprocess + 164 (NSException.m:249) 1 libobjc.A.dylib 0x197601244 objc_exception_throw + 88 (objc-exception.mm:356) 2 JazminChebar 0x1009b2c04 RCTFatal + 568 (RCTAssert.m:147) 3 JazminChebar 0x1009c81f8 __28-[RCTCxxBridge handleError:]_block_invoke + 532 (RCTCxxBridge.mm:1178) 4 libdispatch.dylib 0x1a1e19248 _dispatch_call_block_and_release + 32 (init.c:1549) 5 libdispatch.dylib 0x1a1e1afa8 _dispatch_client_callout + 20 (object.m:576) 6 libdispatch.dylib 0x1a1e29a34 _dispatch_main_queue_drain + 984 (queue.c:8093) 7 libdispatch.dylib 0x1a1e2964c _dispatch_main_queue_callback_4CF + 44 (queue.c:8253) 8 CoreFoundation 0x19a0d2bcc CFRUNLOOP_IS_SERVICING_THE_MAIN_DISPATCH_QUEUE + 16 (CFRunLoop.c:1793) 9 CoreFoundation 0x19a0cf1c0 __CFRunLoopRun + 1996 (CFRunLoop.c:3163) 10 CoreFoundation 0x19a121284 CFRunLoopRunSpecific + 588 (CFRunLoop.c:3434) 11 GraphicsServices 0x1e73914c0 GSEventRunModal + 164 (GSEvent.c:2196) 12 UIKitCore 0x19cc6a674 -[UIApplication _run] + 816 (UIApplication.m:3846) 13 UIKitCore 0x19c890e88 UIApplicationMain + 340 (UIApplication.m:5503) 14 JazminChebar 0x100178708 main + 80 (main.m:7) 15 dyld 0x1c037dde8 start + 2724 (dyldMain.cpp:1338)

I'm trying the "Connect and Solve" course of Swift Playground. I can't use "world.place" to place bricks at positions (2, 2), (6, 2) (automatically disappear), but I can place bricks at positions (4, 2) in the same way. Two bricks must be placed overlapping in positions (2, 2) and (6, 2) to achieve the goal. Only when a brick is placed in position (4, 2) can the goal be achieved. The problem is that the bricks placed on (6, 2) and (2, 2) will disappear and cannot be placed successfully. The following is my code writing... let Block1 = Block() for i in 1 ... 2 { world.place(Block1, atColumn: 2, row: 2) } for i in 1 ... 2 { world.place(Block1, atColumn: 6, row: 2) } world.place(Block1, atColumn: 4, row: 2) func turnaround() { turnRight() turnRight() } func walk4() { for i in 1 ... 3 { moveForward() } } func collet() { for i in 1 ... 2 { moveForward() } toggleSwitch() turnRight() walk4() collectGem() turnaround() walk4() turnRight() } for i in 1 ... 3 { collet() } ‌I would appreciate it if someone could offer some recommendations.‌ ‌Thanks a lot‌

#Playgrounds conflict duplicate libraries
Experimenting with #Playground macro with Xcode 26 beta 3, out of the box I see a conflict between duplicates in the XcodeDefault Toolchain. Essentially a clean install of macOS Tahoe 26 25A5306g FB18930059 Was trying to follow the first Foundation Model WWDC video example but distilling it down to the most basic use of the Playground macro produces the same error. import Playgrounds #Playground { } Any solutions / workarounds? Wasn't sure whether to attempt to delete one of these–but they are internal libraries. objc[3241]: Class PGLConcurrentMapNode is implemented in both /Applications/Xcode-beta 3.app/Contents/Developer/Toolchains/XcodeDefault.xctoolchain/Developer/Platforms/MacOSX.platform/Developer/Library/PrivateFrameworks/PlaygroundLogger.framework/Versions/A/PlaygroundLogger (0x10db98c10) and /Applications/Xcode-beta 3.app/Contents/Developer/Toolchains/XcodeDefault.xctoolchain/usr/lib/swift/macosx/libLiveExecutionResultsLogger.dylib (0x10db18050). This may cause spurious casting failures and mysterious crashes. One of the duplicates must be removed or renamed. error: Couldn't look up symbols: protocol descriptor for Playgrounds.__PlaygroundsContentRecordContainer```
