Does scheduling a price change of a subscription while keeping the original price for existing subscribers trigger messaging to those users?
We're planning on increasing the price of our ios in-app subscription. We will select the option "Keep the current price for existing subscribers" Reading this https://developer.apple.com/help/app-store-connect/manage-subscriptions/manage-pricing-for-auto-renewable-subscriptions/, it's not clear if existing subscribers will be notified of the change in pricing (even though that change won't impact them) or not?

ES_NOTIFY_OPEN Fires After AUTH_OPEN Denial – Why?
Will the ES_EVENT_TYPE_NOTIFY_OPEN event be called back when the user has already returned es_respond_flags_result(client, msg, 0, false) in ES_EVENT_TYPE_AUTH_OPEN? I believe the ES_EVENT_TYPE_NOTIFY_OPEN event should not be triggered if the user has already denied the open operation in the ES_EVENT_TYPE_AUTH_OPEN response handler. However, during my testing, ES_EVENT_TYPE_NOTIFY_OPEN was still being called even after I blocked the open process. Is this behavior correct?

Need to check Call Status without using CallKit
My app requirement is to check that User is on call while doing transaction. If user on call then we need to show Caution alert. For this requirement we used CallKit to detect Call status and it's working fine but recently Apple has rejected the application because of Callkit that is banned in China. Could you please provide any solution to check the Call Status only.

Issue with Multicast Response via NWConnectionGroup Behind a Firewall
Hello Everyone, I’m working on a project that involves multicast communication between processes running on different devices within the same network. For all my Apple devices (macOS, iOS, etc.), I am using NWConnectionGroup, which listens on a multicast address "XX.XX.XX.XX" and a specific multicast port. The issue occurs when a requestor (such as a non-Apple process) sends a multicast request, and the server, which is a process running on an Apple device using NWConnectionGroup (the responder), attempts to reply. The problem is that the response is sent from a different ephemeral port rather than the port on which the multicast request was received. If the client is behind a firewall that blocks unsolicited traffic, the firewall only allows incoming packets on the same multicast port used for the initial request. Since the multicast response is sent from a different ephemeral port, the firewall blocks this response, preventing the requestor from receiving it. Questions: Is there a recommended approach within the NWConnectionGroup or Network.framework to ensure that responses to multicast requests are sent from the same port used for the request? Are there any best practices for handling multicast responses in scenarios where the requestor is behind a restrictive firewall? Any insights or suggestions on how to account for this behavior and ensure reliable multicast communication in such environments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Harshal

No persistent stores error in SwiftData
I am following Apple's instruction to sync SwiftData with CloudKit. While initiating the ModelContainer, right after removing the store from Core Data, the error occurs: FAULT: NSInternalInconsistencyException: This NSPersistentStoreCoordinator has no persistent stores (unknown). It cannot perform a save operation.; (user info absent) I've tried removing default.store and its related files/folders before creating the ModelContainer with FileManager but it does not resolve the issue. Isn't it supposed to create a new store when the ModelContainer is initialized? I don't understand why this error occurs. Error disappears when I comment out the #if DEBUG block. Code: import CoreData import SwiftData import SwiftUI struct InitView: View { @Binding var modelContainer: ModelContainer? @Binding var isReady: Bool @State private var loadingDots = "" @State private var timer: Timer? var body: some View { VStack(spacing: 16) { Text("Loading\(loadingDots)") .font(.title2) .foregroundColor(.gray) } .padding() .onAppear { startAnimation() registerTransformers() let config = ModelConfiguration() let newContainer: ModelContainer do { #if DEBUG // Use an autorelease pool to make sure Swift deallocates the persistent // container before setting up the SwiftData stack. try autoreleasepool { let desc = NSPersistentStoreDescription(url: config.url) let opts = NSPersistentCloudKitContainerOptions(containerIdentifier: "iCloud.my-container-identifier") desc.cloudKitContainerOptions = opts // Load the store synchronously so it completes before initializing the // CloudKit schema. desc.shouldAddStoreAsynchronously = false if let mom = NSManagedObjectModel.makeManagedObjectModel(for: [Page.self]) { let container = NSPersistentCloudKitContainer(name: "Pages", managedObjectModel: mom) container.persistentStoreDescriptions = [desc] container.loadPersistentStores { _, err in if let err { fatalError(err.localizedDescription) } } // Initialize the CloudKit schema after the store finishes loading. try container.initializeCloudKitSchema() // Remove and unload the store from the persistent container. if let store = container.persistentStoreCoordinator.persistentStores.first { try container.persistentStoreCoordinator.remove(store) } } // let fileManager = FileManager.default // let sqliteURL = config.url // let urls: [URL] = [ // sqliteURL, // sqliteURL.deletingLastPathComponent().appendingPathComponent("default.store-shm"), // sqliteURL.deletingLastPathComponent().appendingPathComponent("default.store-wal"), // sqliteURL.deletingLastPathComponent().appendingPathComponent(".default_SUPPORT"), // sqliteURL.deletingLastPathComponent().appendingPathComponent("default_ckAssets") // ] // for url in urls { // try? fileManager.removeItem(at: url) // } } #endif newContainer = try ModelContainer(for: Page.self, configurations: config) // ERROR!!! } catch { fatalError(error.localizedDescription) } modelContainer = newContainer isReady = true } .onDisappear { stopAnimation() } } private func startAnimation() { timer = Timer.scheduledTimer( withTimeInterval: 0.5, repeats: true ) { _ in updateLoadingDots() } } private func stopAnimation() { timer?.invalidate() timer = nil } private func updateLoadingDots() { if loadingDots.count > 2 { loadingDots = "" } else { loadingDots += "." } } } import CoreData import SwiftData import SwiftUI @main struct MyApp: App { @State private var modelContainer: ModelContainer? @State private var isReady: Bool = false var body: some Scene { WindowGroup { if isReady, let modelContainer = modelContainer { ContentView() .modelContainer(modelContainer) } else { InitView(modelContainer: $modelContainer, isReady: $isReady) } } } }

CarPlay Support
Hi All, We've been working on a new CarPlay-supported App and are hoping for advice on how to achieve this. We have completed the CarPlay Entitledment Request, but have not received any response from Apple. Given we're close to launch on Android, we'd love to have these projects completed together. Any advice on how to make contact with the approvals team, or suggestions on how long this will normally take? If they're no longer taking applications or rejection is high, any guidance would be greatly appreciated too!

We would like to inquire about the push notification budget for Live Activities.
We are developing a service that uses the “More Frequent Updates” feature of Live Activities. I have a question regarding the push notification budget for Live Activities. According to the documentation and the following session: WWDC23 Session 10185 – “What’s New in ActivityKit” https://developer.apple.com/videos/play/wwdc2023/10185/ At 11:58, it is stated that there is no limit on the number of updates when using low priority (5). Could you confirm whether updates sent with low priority (5) are indeed not subject to the Live Activity push notification budget?

Thunderbolt: Implementing shared IO between hosts
Hello all, I am interested in developing a small driver that would facilitate host-to-host communication via Thunderbolt 4/5. While I am aware of features such as Thunderbolt Bridge/Thunderbolt Networking, I find that for my application the overhead is too great. I am interested in sharing a simple, static memory buffer between the two hosts for IO and with some synchronisation primitives. The idea being that the communication is facilitated between different platforms. Would it be possible to develop a driver/service like this? Currently, going through the documentation, to use PCIDriverKit specifying a Vendor and Product Ids is required, so I doubt that this is a viable path. I know that Linux exposes the "XDomain" protocol to announce thunderbolt services (This is the same protocol that is used in macOS to discover Thunderbolt Networking peers). Is this functionality exposed to macOS driver developers?

Unexpected ONE_TIME_CHARGE Refund Callback After Successful Purchase
We are using consumable in-app purchases. Starting from May 27th, we began receiving refund callbacks with the notificationType set to ONE_TIME_CHARGE immediately after users successfully completed a payment. { "notificationType": "ONE_TIME_CHARGE", "signedPayload": "..." } During this period, we did not make any changes to our App release or server-side purchase handling logic. Could this issue result in actual refunds being processed? What steps should we take to resolve this issue? We also noticed in your changelog that a new notification type ONE_TIME_CHARGE has been introduced. Can we safely ignore callbacks with the ONE_TIME_CHARGE notification type without affecting refund processing or user experience?

communication between live activity and main app
I found the live activity process cannot write to the app group and FileManger, can only read the app group. When I write using FileManager in a live activity process, the console prompts me with a permission error. When I write using UserDefault(suit:) in the live activity process, I read a null value in the main app. Is this the case for real-time event design? I haven’t seen any documentation mentioning this. Does anyone know, thank you very much.

SKAdNetwork: Error while updating conversion value
Hello! I make use of the new iOS 15.4 SKAdNetwork.updatePostbackConversionValue feature: SKAdNetwork.updatePostbackConversionValue(0) { error in if let error = error { print(error.localizedDescription) } } I am not sure why, but I always see this error message in the console: SKAdNetwork: Error while updating conversion value: Error Domain=SKANErrorDomain Code=10 "(null)" The operation couldn’t be completed. (SKANErrorDomain error 10.) Any idea what’s going on there? What does Error Code 10 mean? Couldn't find anything in the documentation about that so far. I have the NSAdvertisingAttributionReportEndpoint key with domain (https://api2.branch.io/v1/skadnetwork/advertiser_app) in my .plist.

Find My Network System
Hey everyone, how’s it going? I’d like to know if, by enrolling in Apple’s MFi program, I’ll gain access to develop my own tags and my own app to track them using Apple’s Find network. I also read that there’s an estimated cost of $4 per device—does that apply to each device produced, or only at the time of registering the device, with no fee for additional units?

Approve with Side Button' is not displayed
When accessing https://applepaydemo.apple.com/payment-request-api, the "Approve with Side Button" prompt is displayed, but it does not appear when using our test domain. I implemented the Payment Request API based on the sample source code from the following URL. On an iPhone device, the Apple Pay payment screen is displayed, but the "Approve with Side Button" icon below the amount does not appear, and instead a spinning loading icon is shown continuously. Could you please help identify the cause? ■ Reference URL: https://applepaydemo.apple.com/payment-request-api ■ Changed parameter: "merchantIdentifier": "〇〇.dev" ■ Accessed domain: 〇〇test.com ■ Test device: iPhone 13 iOS: 18.4.1

iCloud Drive changes in iOS 18.4 and later break stated API
The NSMetadataUbiquitousItemDownloadingStatusKey indicates the status of a ubiquitous (iCloud Drive) file. A key value of NSMetadataUbiquitousItemDownloadingStatusDownloaded is defined as indicating there is a local version of this file available. The most current version will get downloaded as soon as possible . However this no longer occurs since iOS 18.4. A ubiquitous file may remain in the NSMetadataUbiquitousItemDownloadingStatusDownloaded state for an indefinite period. There is a workaround: call [NSFileManager startDownloadingUbiquitousItemAtURL: error:] however this shouldn't be necessary, and introduces delays over the previous behaviour. Has anyone else seen this behaviour? Is this a permanent change? FB17662379

Mac Catalyst App can't launch, reason: Library not loaded: /usr/lib/libc++.1.dylib
My app cannot be launched on some users' MacOS, it says "Library not loaded: /usr/lib/libc++.1.dylib". User 2's environment: 2020 MacBook Pro, M1, system version: 15.5. I (and the people around me) cannot reproduce this problem. It can be reproduced on User 2's computer, but the performance is strange, sometimes good and sometimes bad. The app can be launched normally during the day, and it can also be launched normally after restarting the computer. But it cannot be launched from 21:00 to 22:00 at night, and the problem still exists even if the computer is restarted. After some searching, I suspect that there is a bug in the dynamic linker cache mechanism of MacOS, but we cannot confirm it. According to the official documentation: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/macos-release-notes/macos-big-sur-11_0_1-release-notes New in macOS Big Sur 11.0.1, the system ships with a built-in dynamic linker cache of all system-provided libraries. As part of this change, copies of dynamic libraries are no longer present on the filesystem. Code that attempts to check for dynamic library presence by looking for a file at a path or enumerating a directory will fail. Instead, check for library presence by attempting to dlopen() the path, which will correctly check for the library in the cache. (62986286) I also tried to manually copy libc++.1.dylib to the above path, but these paths are read-only, and files cannot be copied into them even if SIP is turned off. Is there any other way to fix or avoid this problem? Thank you. Other similar questions: https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/756370 https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/764824

iOS 18; Can no longer connect app to camera over Ad Hoc insecure network
We have an old iOS app and an old camera that connects using Wi-Fi either using an access point or Ad Hoc network, e.g., iPhone/iPad connects to the camera's Wi-Fi directly... How it works (old legacy app/system, which cannot be redesigned): Camera is configured to Ad Hoc Wi-Fi network (insecure TCP). iPhone connects to this insecure Wi-Fi. Camera uses Bonjour service to broadcast its IP address. App reads in IP address and begin to send messages to the camera using NSMutableURLRequest, etc. All this works fine for iOS 17. But in iOS 18 step 4 stopped working. App simply doesn't get any responses! We believe we have configured ATS properly (App Store version): In panic we have also tried this in Test Flight version: The latter actually seemed to make a difference when running the app on macOS Apple Silicon. But on iOS it didn't seem to make any difference. Occasionally, I was lucky to get connection on on iPhone 16 Pro with iOS 18. But for the 'many' iPads I have tried I couldn't. I also tried to install CFNetwork profile and look at the logs but I believe I just got timeout on the requests. Questions: Why it iOS 18 different? Bonjour works fine, but NSSURLRequests doesn't Do we configure ATS correctly for this scenario? What should I look for in the Console log when CFNetwork profile is installed? Should I file a TSI? Thanks! :)

Does scheduling a price change of a subscription while keeping the original price for existing subscribers trigger messaging to those users?
We're planning on increasing the price of our ios in-app subscription.

#Predicate doesn't work with enum
Problem The following code doesn't work: let predicate = #Predicate<Car> { car in car.size == size //This doesn't work } Console Error Query encountered an error: SwiftData.SwiftDataError(_error: SwiftData.SwiftDataError._Error.unsupportedPredicate) Root cause Size is an enum, #Predicate works with other type such as String however doesn't work with enum Enum value is saved however is not filtered by #Predicate Environment Xcode: 15.0 (15A240d) - App Store macOS: 14.0 (23A339) - Release Candidate Steps to reproduce Run the app on iOS 17 or macOS Sonoma Press the Add button Notice that the list remains empty Expected behaviour List should show the newly created small car Actual behaviour List remains empty inspite of successfully creating the small car. Kernel version in headers
Does macOS have anything like the FreeBSD macro _FreeBSD_version? That's a macro that gets bumped whenever kernel interfaces change, see https://docs.freebsd.org/en/books/porters-handbook/versions/

iCloud Drive changes in iOS 18.4 and later break stated API

"exception" : {"codes":"0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000","rawCodes":[0,0],"type":"EXC_CRASH","signal":"SIGABRT"}, "termination" : {"code":1,"flags":518,"namespace":"DYLD","indicator":"Library missing","details":["(terminated at launch; ignore backtrace)"],"reasons":["Library not loaded: \/usr\/lib\/libc++.1.dylib","Referenced from: <E4CB6764-8CB9-32E9-881B-252E2F3E0C4B> \/Applications\/myapp.app\/Contents\/MacOS\/myapp","Reason: tried: '\/System\/iOSSupport\/usr\/lib\/libc++.1.dylib' (no such file), '\/System\/Volumes\/Preboot\/Cryptexes\/OS\/System\/iOSSupport\/usr\/lib\/libc++.1.dylib' (no such file), '\/System\/iOSSupport\/usr\/lib\/libc++.1.dylib' (no such file, no dyld cache), '\/usr\/lib\/libc++.1.dylib' (no such file), '\/System\/Volumes\/Preboot\/Cryptexes\/OS\/usr\/lib\/libc++.1.dylib' (no such file), '\/usr\/lib\/libc++.1.dylib' (no such file, no dyld cache)"]}, User 1's environment: 2020 MacBook Air, M1, system version 15.4.

Thanks! :)
