Multible saved accounts and SwiftData
For a CRM application, I want users to be able to switch between accounts and have their saved contacts stored locally. Whenever a user logs in, the app should fetch data from their specific database location. What’s the best practice to achieve this? Should I create a separate database for each user? Should I store all the data in one database and filter it by user? Or is there a better approach I should consider?

Unable to use altitude for our use case (NYC MTA)
We’re building a new subway/bus app at the MTA. Our system includes roughly 300 underground stations, around 150 elevated stations (i.e., above street level), and about 5 at-grade stations (i.e., at street level). We serve roughly 5 million riders a day. We’re diving deep into Core Location on iOS and have found that the altitude values returned from two fields we’re testing aren’t accurate enough for our use case: CLLocation.altitude CMAbsoluteAltitudeData.altitude We need to reliably distinguish whether a user is: At street level On an elevated platform (see attached picture) On any platform in an underground station — most have a single platform level, but some, like 59 St (see attached), have multiple platforms at different elevations. These levels typically differ by at least 15 feet, which should in theory be well within the precision range of a properly calibrated barometric pressure sensor. However, the absolute altitude values we’re seeing from these APIs are often inaccurate and inconsistent — not only compared to ground truth, but also across devices. For example, holding two phones side-by-side frequently yields altitude readings that differ by more than 15 feet. That level of variation makes the data unreliable for our needs. Please see the below photos for more context. URLs.md

In-app provisioning for Apple Pay
We created apps for many credit unions in Canada. Some of those apps has the feature to directly add users' debit cards to Apple Wallet (which is called by Apple as "in-app provisioning"). The feature has been working fine for at least 6 years for many credit unions. Recently, after updating one of those existing apps, we found out that the in-app provisioning is no longer working. Found it very strange, as we didn't touch the code base related to this feature for a very long time. One thing we found out is that the option to add in-app provisioning entitlement is missing during generating "provisioning profile" for the app. Is this a misconfiguration by App? Or do we need to request for additional entitlement migration as mentioned in the page: https://developer.apple.com/help/account/reference/provisioning-with-managed-capabilities ? Apple, please help, it's rather urgent.

Apple Watch Fails to Receive Companion App Message
Hello all, I have run into a weird situation in my watchOS app with a companion iOS app. Issue: Watch fails to receive sendMessage string sent from phone while watch is in foreground. This is not consistent and seems to happen randomly under certain conditions. Order of operations: User Opens phone app & watch app -> user presses "sendMessage" button, func is called -> watch does not receive message while in foreground Condition explanation: To my knowledge, without a HealthKit workout session active, the apple watch is not available to receive messages (using any internal library transmission type) from its iOS companion app while the watch screen is not in the foreground (i.e. inactive). However, my issue is that sometimes, while the watch IS in the foreground, it does not receive the companion app's message. Additionally, this is not resolved by force quitting both iOS and watchOS apps. The only way I have gotten this issue to go away is by restarting both the phone and the watch. Again, it is not a consistent behavior and seemingly happens randomly. This behavior has been observed across multiple different beta testers on different hardware. This is only apparent when transmitting from Phone -> Watch. I have not experienced any transmission issues when transmitting Watch -> Phone. My team and I have speculated that it could be an issue with WCSession.isReachable returning true before we transmit the message but changing to false before the hardware actually transmits. However, this wouldn't explain why the watch would not be available while in the foreground. This is just a preliminary thought. My goal in posting on here is to see if anyone else has experienced this, or if it's a known bug. All message protocols have been coded to follow Apple's WCSession documentation as closely as possible. Hardware specs: Watch Model: A2093 (series 5) WatchOS ver: 10.6.1 Phone: MU693LL/A (15 pro max) iOS ver: 18.3.2 XCode ver: 16.0

Associated Domains and location of the AASA file when “service”=”Authsrv”
We are planning to use our internal IdP (PingFederate) for authentication of end users in their iOS apps using ASWebAuthenticationSession. Initial tests are successful, but the user is prompted for every login (and logouts) with a consent dialogue box: “AppName” wants to use “internal domain-name” to Sign In This allows the app and website to share information about you. Cancel Continue” Let’s say that our top-level domain is “company.no”, where our IdP is placed at “idp.company.com”. I have seen examples where the Associated domains entitlement points to the idp as a webserver for serving the JSON output AASA file. In this case that would be: authsrv: idp.company.com Anyone with experience implementing this structure with the IdP as webserver for serving the JSON output? Our problem is that trying to use the IdP as webserver for this purpose is that it is very complicated to modify the IdP’s webserver configuration. Also, this modification needs to be re-done every time we need to upgrade the IdP. My question is therefore also related to the options of which webserver to install the AASA file on. Has anyone installed the file on a generic webserver on the toplevel domain like “webserver.company.com” ?

What is the point of thread-id/grouping in push notifications if grouping depends upon user preferences?
There's plenty of articles out there about programatically grouping push notifications. However I have tried setting the thread-id in the push payload when sending a push, or setting the threadIdentifier for a received push in a notification service extension to be the same for several pushes. But if within the iPhone Settings / Notifications the user selects to display pushes as List and turns off Notification Grouping, then each notification resulting from the push appears on its own separately. Is there something other than thread-id/threadidentifier that is used to programmatically group them? If not then whats the point of these as grouping and display is actually under the control of user.

Why my server can't receive non-consumable in-app-purchase notification?
I set both production and sandbox App Store Notification server. In sandbox, my server can receive all kinds of app store notification, including subscription and non-consumable in-app-purchase. But in production, my server only receive subscription notification. I can see some non-consumable in-app-purchase done in log, but the server didn't receive expected notification. Anyone know why? I really need the notification cause I need to know who made refund.

Dockkit ADK 1.0 Compatible Nordic SDK
While compiling nRF5340 target of Dockkit ADK 1.0 following the guide of README.md, I selected the latest Nordic SDK, because there is no specified SDK version in the README.md. But it seems that ADK and SDK are not compatible with each others. For example, it calls nrfx_gpiote_channel_alloc() with one argument in PAL\NCS\HAPPlatformExperience.c. But the difinition of this function needs two arguments. Also I found that in some older version of Nordic SDK, this function needs only one argument. So could you please make sure which version of Nordic SDK should developer use?

External Link Account Modal language
Hi All, We are developing our app with an approved External Link Account Entitlement. During the development process (such as installing from Xcode or creating an Ad-hoc build and installing it on a phone), the open() function of the External Link Account API displays the modal our native language. The app only localized to that language. However, after uploading the app with the same configuration to TestFlight, the modal somehow appears in English instead. What could be causing this issue with the External Link Account modal? How can the open() function display the modal in another language when installed from Xcode or an Ad-hoc release build, but in English when installed from TestFlight? How can we show only our native lanugage version only to our Users? Thank you in advance

How to register ContactProviderDomain
Hi there, we are implementing the new ContactProviderExtension introduced in iOS 18 and we are able to activate the extension, add data and everything. But we want to add domains to seperate contacts and currently we are getting an error "ContactProvider.ContactProviderError.domainNotRegistered". That makes sense because in the API docu we are not finding a way to register our domains. We are using ContactProviderDomain to create domains but we are not able to find any function to register. Could you please give a hint? Thank you

Calendar "Today's Events" Issue
Device: iPhone 16 Pro iOS version: 18.3.2 The calendar widget (on home screen) is displaying "No more events today" even though there is an appointment scheduled later in the evening on the same day. I have looked through all the settings and nothing seems to work. How do I get it to display events that are on the calendar for rest of the day today. It does correctly display events that are upcoming tomorrow and next week. Thanks, -Harry

Message Filter Extension Not Triggering on iPhone 12 Pro (iOS 16.7) but Works on iPhone 11 (iOS 16.6)
Hi Team, We’re encountering a device-specific issue with our SMS Message Filter extension. The extension works as expected on an iPhone 11 running iOS 16.6, but it does not trigger on an iPhone 12 Pro running iOS 16.7. Key Observations: The extension is implemented using ILMessageFilterExtension and calls messageFilterOffline(appGroupIdentifier:for:) from our shared library. The App Group is properly configured and accessible across the app and extension. The extension is enabled under Settings > Messages > Unknown & Spam. There are no crashes or error logs reported on the affected device. The issue is consistently reproducible — it works on one device but not the other. We’re wondering if this could be a regression or a device-specific behavior change introduced in iOS 16.7. Has anyone encountered similar inconsistencies in Message Filter extensions across different iOS versions or device models? Any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Can I ask user to share his/her email id while doing
We sell magazines through a third party app platform called Pocketmags and our website. The magazines have Print, Digital and Combo options available for purchase. Also, this third party app provides the platform to read the digital version of the magazines. Once a user buys a subscription on the website, he/she receives the email with the login information on PocketMags, where he registers his login details and can start reading his subscription. With us, the customer shares his billing/shipping address along with their email id while they make payment. Now we have our own app where through which we want to sell these magazines and have to integrate In-App purchase for selling these digital subscriptions. How do we send the 3rd party subscription access details on email to the user if they do in app purchase?

Unexpected partition property set on cookies in iOS 18.4 beta
Apology for repost. I needed to fix the tags for original thread. https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/777159 On iOS 18.3, I noted that partition "HTTPCookiePropertyKey: StoragePartition" is not observed to be set for cookies returned from the wkwebview cookie store. Now on 18.4 beta 4 we are now seeing those same cookies are populated with a partition property. Is there documentation for this change? Is it intended to be suddenly populated in 18.4? Now that partition property is set, HTTPCookieStorage.shared.cookies(for: serverUri) doesn't seem to return the expected cookies correctly. For context, we are using the cookies extracted from wkwebview, setting them in HTTPCookieStorage.shared and using URLSession to make network calls outside the webivew. Works fine once I forcefully set partition on the cookie to nil. More details on what the cookie looks like here: https://feedbackassistant.apple.com/feedback/16906526 Hopefully this is on your radar?

SwiftData Many-To-Many Relationship: Failed to fulfill link PendingRelationshipLink
Hi there, I got two models here: Two Models, with Many-To-Many Relationship @Model final class PresetParams: Identifiable { @Attribute(.unique) var id: UUID = UUID() var positionX: Float = 0.0 var positionY: Float = 0.0 var positionZ: Float = 0.0 var volume: Float = 1.0 @Relationship(deleteRule: .nullify, inverse: \Preset.presetAudioParams) var preset = [Preset]() init(position: SIMD3<Float>, volume: Float) { self.positionX = position.x self.positionY = position.y self.positionZ = position.z self.volume = volume self.preset = [] } var position: SIMD3<Float> { get { return SIMD3<Float>(x: positionX, y: positionY, z: positionZ) } set { positionX = newValue.x positionY = newValue.y positionZ = newValue.z } } } @Model final class Preset: Identifiable { @Attribute(.unique) var id: UUID = UUID() var presetName: String var presetDesc: String? var presetAudioParams = [PresetParams]() // Many-To-Many Relationship. init(presetName: String, presetDesc: String? = nil) { self.presetName = presetName self.presetDesc = presetDesc self.presetAudioParams = [] } } To be honest, I don't fully understand how the @Relationship thing works properly in a Many-To-Many relationship situation. Some tutorials suggest that it's required on the "One" side of an One-To-Many Relationship, while the "Many" side doesn't need it. And then there is an ObservableObject called "ModelActors" to manage all ModelActors, ModelContainer, etc. ModelActors, ModelContainer... class ModelActors: ObservableObject { static let shared: ModelActors = ModelActors() let sharedModelContainer: ModelContainer private init() { var schema = Schema([ // ... Preset.self, PresetParams.self, // ... ]) do { sharedModelContainer = try ModelContainer(for: schema, migrationPlan: MigrationPlan.self) } catch { fatalError("Could not create ModelContainer: \(error.localizedDescription)") } } } And there is a migrationPlan: MigrationPlan // MARK: V102 // typealias ... // MARK: V101 typealias Preset = AppSchemaV101.Preset typealias PresetParams = AppSchemaV101.PresetParams // MARK: V100 // typealias ... enum MigrationPlan: SchemaMigrationPlan { static var schemas: [VersionedSchema.Type] { [ AppSchemaV100.self, AppSchemaV101.self, AppSchemaV102.self, ] } static var stages: [MigrationStage] { [AppMigrateV100toV101, AppMigrateV101toV102] } static let AppMigrateV100toV101 = MigrationStage.lightweight(fromVersion: AppSchemaV100.self, toVersion: AppSchemaV101.self) static let AppMigrateV101toV102 = MigrationStage.lightweight(fromVersion: AppSchemaV101.self, toVersion: AppSchemaV102.self) } // MARK: Here is the AppSchemaV101 enum AppSchemaV101: VersionedSchema { static var versionIdentifier: Schema.Version = Schema.Version(1, 0, 1) static var models: [any PersistentModel.Type] { return [ // ... Preset.self, PresetParams.self ] } } Fails on iOS 18.3.x: "Failed to fulfill link PendingRelationshipLink" So I expected the SwiftData subsystem to work correctly with version control. A good news is that on iOS 18.1 it does work. But it fails on iOS 18.3.x with a fatal Error: "SwiftData/SchemaCoreData.swift:581: Fatal error: Failed to fulfill link PendingRelationshipLink(relationshipDescription: (<NSRelationshipDescription: 0x30377fe80>), name preset, isOptional 0, isTransient 0, entity PresetParams, renamingIdentifier preset, validation predicates (), warnings (), versionHashModifier (null)userInfo {}, destination entity Preset, inverseRelationship (null), minCount 0, maxCount 0, isOrdered 0, deleteRule 1, destinationEntityName: "Preset", inverseRelationshipName: Optional("presetAudioParams")), couldn't find inverse relationship 'Preset.presetAudioParams' in model" Fails on iOS 17.5: Another Error I tested it on iOS 17.5 and found another issue: Accessing or mutating the "PresetAudioParams" property causes the SwiftData Macro Codes to crash, affecting both Getter and Setter. It fails with an error: "EXC_BREAKPOINT (code=1, subcode=0x1cc1698ec)" Tweaking the @Relationship marker and ModelContainer settings didn't fix the problem.
