Transaction.currentEntitlements returning empty response
Hi there 👋🏻 We are facing an issue that started on 24 June 2025 where some users that have an active subscription with an offer are not being able to use/restore their subscription since Transaction.currentEntitlements is empty. We have tried to call the server with this endpoint https://developer.apple.com/documentation/appstoreserverapi/get-transaction-history and it's returning the correct transactions correctly. Any idea what is happening?

TestFlight user cannot re-purchase expired auto-renewable subscription – only restored purchases returned
I’m testing an auto-renewable subscription on TestFlight. Now the user can't re-purchase the same product – Apple just restores the old (expired) one, and no payment sheet appears. How can I let the same TestFlight user re-subscribe to an expired product? Do I have to create a new productId for every test cycle?

AppStore.sync() not restoring purchases
On an app that was using the old API for In-App Purchases (StoreKit 1). The app is already published on the App Store. The purchase is non-consumable. While trying to migrate to StoreKit 2, I'm unable to restore purchases. Specifically displaying and purchasing products works as expected, but when deleting and reinstalling the app, and then trying to restore purchases I can't do it. I'm trying to restore them using the new APIs but it doesn't seem to be working. What I have tried so far: I'm listening for transaction updates during the whole lifetime of the app, with: Task.detached { for await result in Transaction.updates { if case let .verified(safe) = result { } } } I have a button that calls this method, but other than prompting to log in again with the Apple ID it doesn't seem to have any effect at all: try? await AppStore.sync() This doesn't return any item for await result in Transaction.currentEntitlements { if case let .verified(transaction) = result { } } This doesn't return any item for await result in Transaction.all { if case let .verified(transaction) = result { } } As mentioned before I'm trying this after purchasing the item and deleting the app. So I'm sure it should be able to restore the purchase. Am trying this both with a Configuration.storekit file on the simulator, and without it on a real device, in the Sandbox Environment. Has anyone being able to restore purchases using StoreKit 2? PD: I already filed a feedback report on Feedback Assistant, but so far the only thing that they have replied is: Because StoreKit Testing in Xcode is a local environment, and the data is tied to the app, when you delete the app you're also deleting all the transaction data for that app in the Xcode environment. The code snippets provided are correct usage of the API. So yes, using a Configuration.storekit file won't work on restoring purchases, but if I can't restore them on the Sandbox Environment I'm afraid that this won't work once released, leaving my users totally unable to restore what they have already purchased.

Issue with "Transaction.currentEntitlements": Some paid users cannot use the features of our subscription plan
Some paid users are unable to use the paid features unlocked by purchasing our subscription plan. It seems that this is due to StoreKit 2's Transaction.currentEntitlements not working the way we would expect it to work. Are you also encountering this issue? Do you have any idea to improve this situation? At launch, our app checks if the user is subscribed to the plan, using Transaction.currentEntitlements. As a result, the currentEntitlements array was empty. Our app then fetches the products from StoreKit 2 using Product.products(for:). As a result, the Product.SubscriptionInfo.RenewalState value of the corresponding Product (product.subscription.status.first.state) is subscribed, which confirms that the user has indeed purchased our plan, but seems to contradict the absence of the corresponding transaction in Transaction.currentEntitlements. Proactive in-app purchase restore and a restore purchase button calling the AppStore.sync() method are implemented, but using the button did not solve the issue.

Is there an API provided by the App Store Server API for canceling subscriptions?
Is there an App Store Server API available that allows cancellation of specific subscriptions by specifying transaction_id or similar identifiers? Background of these questions: We occasionally suspend user accounts due to violations of our service terms and conditions. In such cases, we would like to forcibly cancel their subscriptions if possible. However, we could not find relevant information in the documentation, which is why we are reaching out with these questions. Please let us know.

Why does a purchase result in success unverified?
A purchase can result in success with verificationResult .unverified. Is there a list of reasons for which the transaction might be unverified and how should i handle it in my app? From my understanding, a successful unverified transaction means the user has already paid for the purchase. So, do i just ignore the unverified transaction or do i provide content to the user anyways?

Inconsistent appTransactionId in Transaction History
Issue Description When using the App Store Server API endpoint GET v2/history/{transactionId} to retrieve transaction history for a specific transaction, I'm observing unexpected changes in the appTransactionId field across related transactions in the same subscription group. Important Context: This is a "clean" auto-renewable subscription with no user intervention - the user has had continuous auto-renewals without any upgrades, downgrades, cancellations, or resubscriptions. The subscription has been renewing automatically and successfully throughout the entire period. Is this a known issue? We've seen similar concerns in the community regarding transaction ID inconsistencies, but this specific case involves a clean auto-renewal flow without any complicating factors.

StoreKit appAccountToken Not Preserved During Apple ID Email Migration
I'm encountering an issue with the App Store Server API where the appAccountToken is not preserved when users migrate their Apple ID email addresses. I've submitted Feedback Assistant ticket FB18709241 but wanted to check if anyone else has experienced this and get community input on best practices. The Issue When a user migrates their Apple ID from one email to another (e.g., from olduser@example.com to newuser@icloud.com), the App Store creates a new subscription transaction with a different originalTransactionId, but the appAccountToken is not carried forward from the original transaction. What I'm Seeing note: these values are fake When querying /inApps/v1/subscriptions/{originalTransactionId} with the either post-migration transaction ID or the pre-migration transaction ID, the API returns both transactions: Pre-migration transaction (status: 2 - inactive): originalTransactionId: "12345678910111" Contains: "appAccountToken": "abc123-def456-ghi789" Post-migration transaction (status: 1 - active): originalTransactionId: "67891011121314" Missing: appAccountToken entirely The Problem The appAccountToken is our only way to link App Store subscriptions to user accounts. Without it on the new transaction: Users lose access to premium features despite having valid subscriptions Server-side renewal notifications can't be matched to user accounts Manual support intervention is required for each affected user Questions for the Community Has anyone else encountered this issue with Apple ID migrations? What's the recommended approach for handling this scenario? Is there an alternative mechanism to maintain the subscription-to-user linkage across migrations? Questions for Apple Engineers Is this the expected behavior, or should the appAccountToken be preserved? Are there any planned improvements to handle this migration scenario? What's the best practice for developers to handle this case? Interestingly, both the old and new transaction IDs return the same JSON response from the App Store Server API, suggesting Apple maintains internal linkage between these transactions, but the appAccountToken isn't carried forward to the active transaction. DID_FAIL_TO_RENEW Notification with a null gracePeriodExpiresDate
We are seeking clarification on the behavior of App Store Server Notifications V2. Summary In our production environment, we received a notification with notificationType: DID_FAIL_TO_RENEW and subtype: GRACE_PERIOD. However, the gracePeriodExpiresDate field in the payload was null. We understand this notification indicates that a user's subscription has entered a grace period. The null value for its expiration date is unexpected, and we are looking for an official explanation of this behavior and the correct way to handle it. The Scenario Here are the details of the notification we received: Notification Type: DID_FAIL_TO_RENEW Notification Subtype: GRACE_PERIOD Environment: Production Upon decoding the signedRenewalInfo JWS from the responseBodyV2, we found that the gracePeriodExpiresDate field inside the JWSRenewalInfoDecodedPayload was null. The notificationUUID for this event was in the format xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx. Our Implementation and its Impact Our backend is designed to ensure service continuity during a grace period, as recommended in the documentation. Current Logic: Receive the DID_FAIL_TO_RENEW / GRACE_PERIOD notification. Extract the gracePeriodExpiresDate. Extend the user's subscription expiration date in our database to match this date. Because the gracePeriodExpiresDate was null in this case, our logic failed, creating a risk of service interruption for the user. Context and Investigation We have performed the following checks: App Store Connect Settings: We have confirmed that Billing Grace Period is enabled for the relevant subscription group. Sandbox Environment: We have been unable to reproduce this scenario in the Sandbox. User Context: We believe the user in this case was experiencing a failed payment when attempting to renew for the first time after a free trial period. Questions To ensure we handle this scenario correctly, we would appreciate clarification on the following points: Conditions for Null: Under what specific conditions does a DID_FAIL_TO_RENEW notification with a GRACE_PERIOD subtype contain a null gracePeriodExpiresDate? Expected Behavior: Is this null value an expected behavior for certain scenarios, such as the first failed renewal after a free trial? Best Practice: If this is an expected behavior, what is the correct way to handle it? How should our backend interpret a null gracePeriodExpiresDate to ensure service continuity for the user?

Unable to retrieve data from In App Purchase
I want to add in-app purchasing to my app, but I can't figure out what part of my workflow is wrong. I created a product for my app in iTunes Connect (the product ID is com.mycompany.products.***) and it's in "Ready to submit" status. I created a sandbox test user for this app. I connected to iTunes on a real device using the sandbox AppleID. I went back to XCode and added in-app purchasing to my app. I turned on developer mode on the real device and logged in as the sandbox user. I built the app and ran it on a real device (not the simulator). I tried to get product information (com.mycompany.products.***) but nothing was returned. In-app purchasing is registered in App Store Connect and the status is "Ready to submit". The code only retrieves product information in a simple way, so I don't think there's a problem. inAppPurchase.getProducts(["com.mycompany.products.***"]).then(console.log).catch(console.error); But it only returns an empty array. What could be wrong? Any help would be much appreciated.

In iOS 26 beta3 version, the finishTransaction method is unable to remove transactions from the SKPaymentQueue, causing transactions to remain in the queue even after being processed.
We have some users who have upgraded to iOS 26 beta3. Currently, we observe that when these users make in-app purchases, our code calls [[SKPaymentQueue defaultQueue] finishTransaction:transaction]; method, and we clearly receive the successful removal callback in the delegate method - (void)paymentQueue:(SKPaymentQueue *)queue removedTransactions:(NSArray<SKPaymentTransaction *> *)transactions. However, when users click on products with the same productId again, the method - (void)paymentQueue:(SKPaymentQueue *)queue updatedTransactions:(NSArray *)transactions still returns information about previously removed transactions, preventing users from making further in-app purchases.

How to check if user still have valid subscription?
Is there an API Endpoint that I can call to check if user still have valid subscription? I want to be sure that his subscription renewal was succesful (ie: I dont want to give him another month/year/.. if his latest renewal wasnt successful) Would GET https://api.storekit.itunes.apple.com/inApps/v1/transactions/{transactionId} be the correct API endpoint to call? But I wonder, after subscription auto-renews, do we still use the same transactionId to check whether his subs is still valid?

App Store Server Notification implementation in multiple environments
Hey everyone, We're looking for the best way to handle App Store Server Notifications in our development setup and would appreciate some guidance. Our Setup: We use a single App Store Connect account for development, which supports multiple environments (e.g., staging1, staging2). Our production app lives in a separate account, so that's not an issue. The Challenge: We have only one configurable sandbox notification URL. This makes it difficult to route notifications to the correct development server (staging1 vs. staging2 vs developments) when a sandbox event occurs. We're considering using a proxy server to catch all notifications and then forward them to the appropriate environment. However, we're not sure how to determine the correct destination. Our Questions: What's the recommended approach for managing a single sandbox notification URL across multiple development environments? If a proxy is the best method, which parameter in the responseBodyV2 payload should we use to route the notification? How can we differentiate between our various dev environments? Is it possible to add custom properties to the App Store Server Notification V2 body to facilitate routing? Any advice or best practices you've implemented would be greatly appreciated.

in-app purchases
I implemented consumable in-app purchases in an iPhone app using ProductView(). When I tap the payment button in ProductView(), I am taken to the payment screen and once the payment is completed the next code seems to be executed, so there doesn't seem to be a problem, but if I tap the payment button in ProductView() again, the next code is executed without taking me to the payment screen. This means that a single payment can be made multiple times. Can someone help? 'Invalid value for purchase intake' error
Hello, I recently saw this error from StoreKit in the Console - 'Invalid value for purchase intake' - while debugging a SKPayment subscription issue (where a valid receipt should be verified and restored, but isn't for one user). I haven't been able to find any documentation about this message and wondered if it was related at all. There were two other logs from StoreKit right before saying: 'Found 3 products in receipt with ID' 'Processing ad attribution purchase intake' Does anyone know what 'invalid value for purchase intake' is referencing? We don't have the AdAttributionKit implemented. It sounds like it might be related to that instead? Thank you

App crashes on launch due to missing Swift Concurrency symbol
I'm encountering a crash on app launch. The crash is observed in iOS version 17.6 but not in iOS version 18.5. The only new notable thing I added to this app version was migrate to store kit 2. Invalid or missing subscription expiry date from server for auto subscription renewal

Purchase Date and Original Purchase Date format
We are running into exceptions when trying to parse Purchase Date and Original Purchase Date from the base64 encoded receipt. Expected RFC 3339 format of ASN.1 Field Value is: yyyy-MM-ddTHH:mm:ssZ but we end up getting back 2025-04-22T19.49.03Z. Started to happen on 3rd Dec 2024.

StoreKit appAccountToken Not Preserved During Apple ID Email Migration
I'm encountering an issue with the App Store Server API where the appAccountToken is not preserved when users migrate their Apple ID email addresses. I've submitted Feedback Assistant ticket FB18709241 but wanted to check if anyone else has experienced this and get community input on best practices. The Issue When a user migrates their Apple ID from one email to another (e.g., from olduser@example.com to newuser@icloud.com), the App Store creates a new subscription transaction with a different originalTransactionId, but the appAccountToken is not carried forward from the original transaction. What I'm Seeing note: these values are fake When querying /inApps/v1/subscriptions/{originalTransactionId} with the either post-migration transaction ID or the pre-migration transaction ID, the API returns both transactions: Pre-migration transaction (status: 2 - inactive): originalTransactionId: "12345678910111" Contains: "appAccountToken": "abc123-def456-ghi789" Post-migration transaction (status: 1 - active): originalTransactionId: "67891011121314" Missing: appAccountToken entirely The Problem The appAccountToken is our only way to link App Store subscriptions to user accounts. Without it on the new transaction: Users lose access to premium features despite having valid subscriptions Server-side renewal notifications can't be matched to user accounts Manual support intervention is required for each affected user Questions for the Community Has anyone else encountered this issue with Apple ID migrations? What's the recommended approach for handling this scenario? Is there an alternative mechanism to maintain the subscription-to-user linkage across migrations? Questions for Apple Engineers Is this the expected behavior, or should the appAccountToken be preserved? Are there any planned improvements to handle this migration scenario? What's the best practice for developers to handle this case? Interestingly, both the old and new transaction IDs return the same JSON response from the App Store Server API, suggesting Apple maintains internal linkage between these transactions, but the appAccountToken isn't carried forward to the active transaction. DID_FAIL_TO_RENEW Notification with a null gracePeriodExpiresDate
We are seeking clarification on the behavior of App Store Server Notifications V2. Summary In our production environment, we received a notification with notificationType: DID_FAIL_TO_RENEW and subtype: GRACE_PERIOD. However, the gracePeriodExpiresDate field in the payload was null. We understand this notification indicates that a user's subscription has entered a grace period. The null value for its expiration date is unexpected, and we are looking for an official explanation of this behavior and the correct way to handle it. The Scenario Here are the details of the notification we received: Notification Type: DID_FAIL_TO_RENEW Notification Subtype: GRACE_PERIOD Environment: Production Upon decoding the signedRenewalInfo JWS from the responseBodyV2, we found that the gracePeriodExpiresDate field inside the JWSRenewalInfoDecodedPayload was null. The notificationUUID for this event was in the format xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx. Our Implementation and its Impact Our backend is designed to ensure service continuity during a grace period, as recommended in the documentation. Current Logic: Receive the DID_FAIL_TO_RENEW / GRACE_PERIOD notification. Extract the gracePeriodExpiresDate. Extend the user's subscription expiration date in our database to match this date. Because the gracePeriodExpiresDate was null in this case, our logic failed, creating a risk of service interruption for the user. Context and Investigation We have performed the following checks: App Store Connect Settings: We have confirmed that Billing Grace Period is enabled for the relevant subscription group. Sandbox Environment: We have been unable to reproduce this scenario in the Sandbox. User Context: We believe the user in this case was experiencing a failed payment when attempting to renew for the first time after a free trial period. Unable to retrieve data from In App Purchase
I want to add in-app purchasing to my app, but I can't figure out what part of my workflow is wrong. I created a product for my app in iTunes Connect (the product ID is com.mycompany.products.***) and it's in "Ready to submit" status. I created a sandbox test user for this app. I connected to iTunes on a real device using the sandbox AppleID. I went back to XCode and added in-app purchasing to my app. I turned on developer mode on the real device and logged in as the sandbox user. I built the app and ran it on a real device (not the simulator). I tried to get product information (com.mycompany.products.***) but nothing was returned. In-app purchasing is registered in App Store Connect and the status is "Ready to submit". The code only retrieves product information in a simple way, so I don't think there's a problem. inAppPurchase.getProducts(["com.mycompany.products.***"]).then(console.log).catch(console.error); But it only returns an empty array. What could be wrong? Any help would be much appreciated.

In iOS 26 beta3 version, the finishTransaction method is unable to remove transactions from the SKPaymentQueue, causing transactions to remain in the queue even after being processed.
We have some users who have upgraded to iOS 26 beta3. Currently, we observe that when these users make in-app purchases, our code calls [[SKPaymentQueue defaultQueue] finishTransaction:transaction]; method, and we clearly receive the successful removal callback in the delegate method - (void)paymentQueue:(SKPaymentQueue *)queue removedTransactions:(NSArray<SKPaymentTransaction *> *)transactions. However, when users click on products with the same productId again, the method - (void)paymentQueue:(SKPaymentQueue *)queue updatedTransactions:(NSArray *)transactions still returns information about previously removed transactions, preventing users from making further in-app purchases.

How to check if user still have valid subscription?
Is there an API Endpoint that I can call to check if user still have valid subscription? I want to be sure that his subscription renewal was succesful (ie: I dont want to give him another month/year/.. if his latest renewal wasnt successful) Would GET https://api.storekit.itunes.apple.com/inApps/v1/transactions/{transactionId} be the correct API endpoint to call? But I wonder, after subscription auto-renews, do we still use the same transactionId to check whether his subs is still valid?

App Store Server Notification implementation in multiple environments
Hey everyone, We're looking for the best way to handle App Store Server Notifications in our development setup and would appreciate some guidance. Our Setup: We use a single App Store Connect account for development, which supports multiple environments (e.g., staging1, staging2). Our production app lives in a separate account, so that's not an issue. The Challenge: We have only one configurable sandbox notification URL. This makes it difficult to route notifications to the correct development server (staging1 vs. staging2 vs developments) when a sandbox event occurs. We're considering using a proxy server to catch all notifications and then forward them to the appropriate environment. However, we're not sure how to determine the correct destination. Our Questions: What's the recommended approach for managing a single sandbox notification URL across multiple development environments? If a proxy is the best method, which parameter in the responseBodyV2 payload should we use to route the notification? How can we differentiate between our various dev environments? I implemented consumable in-app purchases in an iPhone app using ProductView(). When I tap the payment button in ProductView(), I am taken to the payment screen and once the payment is completed the next code seems to be executed, so there doesn't seem to be a problem, but if I tap the payment button in ProductView() again, the next code is executed without taking me to the payment screen. This means that a single payment can be made multiple times. Can someone help? 'Invalid value for purchase intake' error
Hello, I recently saw this error from StoreKit in the Console - 'Invalid value for purchase intake' - while debugging a SKPayment subscription issue (where a valid receipt should be verified and restored, but isn't for one user). I haven't been able to find any documentation about this message and wondered if it was related at all. There were two other logs from StoreKit right before saying: 'Found 3 products in receipt with ID' 'Processing ad attribution purchase intake' Does anyone know what 'invalid value for purchase intake' is referencing? We don't have the AdAttributionKit implemented. It sounds like it might be related to that instead? Thank you

App crashes on launch due to missing Swift Concurrency symbol
I'm encountering a crash on app launch. The crash is observed in iOS version 17.6 but not in iOS version 18.5. The only new notable thing I added to this app version was migrate to store kit 2.
