If we use webView.loadFileURL(indexURL, allowingReadAccessTo: readAccessURL) on an iPad it loads the data and navigation works. But if we place two hands on top of the screen and move a bit, all click events are not working anymore. It works again if we call loadFileURL again. We filled a bug report: FB19812304

We're embedding the Power BI reports into our portal by using JS library. While testing them, we found that mobile layout of the reports don't work as we expect on iOS devices (tested in Chrome and Safari). There are two principals issues: 1) the site is automatically refreshed when the users filter the data (we reduced them to lower expression) and 2) the site also crashes after a while using the dashboard by applying different filters.

That still involves user interaction. .mobileconfig with Safari Extensions Management (AlwaysOn) – From what I can tell, this requires a supervised device enrolled in MDM. Installing that profile manually on an unsupervised Mac does not enforce the “AlwaysOn” state. Auth rights / Developer mode – Looked at auth.db rights like com.apple.Safari.allow-unsigned-app-extensions, and the Develop menu “Allow Unsigned Extensions.” Neither appears to auto‑enable a signed extension, and we don’t want to use private/unsupported APIs anyway. Dears, We are facing some issue in ios 18.4.1. Recently some of our end users who updated their ios devices to 18.4.1 have experienced random 403 errors in runtime. as per our analysis, We identified that these errors are associated with "CSRF token mismatch". After successful login, the user's CSRF token is causing issue and it was changed in runtime, this causes the cookie mismatch, and the users is getting 403 errors, and the user session is getting invalid suddenly. let me know if anyone facing the same issue in ios 18.4.1 and let me know Is there any workaround for this issue. I have a WKWebView that contains a js text editor, built on top of a content editable div. Currently, inline predictions on Mac break the text editors functionality significantly every time there's a prediction. There's not a way for me to fix this on the js side unless I can know when a prediction is shown. I've tried disabling inline predictions and writing tools with the web view config, but it doesn't work: let config = WKWebViewConfiguration() config.writingToolsBehavior = .none config.allowsInlinePredictions = false let webView = WKWebView(frame: .zero, configuration: config) I've also tried disabling all spellcheck and autocorrect features in the html but that doesn't work either: <div contenteditable="true" spellcheck="false" autocomplete="off" autocorrect="off" autocapitalize="off"></div> Is there anything I can do to turn it off? I noticed that when vertically scrolling in Safari 26 on my Mac, the content of the website I am currently working on is visible in the tab and URL bar with a liquid glass effect. I then looked at various other websites. Some websites have an opaque top bar. Some websites have a transparent top bar where content is visible when scrolling. On the Apple website, the top bar is opaque in light mode but transparent in dark mode. Unfortunately, I can't find a way to control this behavior. Has anyone found out more about this?

I have an app which has at least two extensions: A Content Blocker extension with a request handler that returns an appropriate NSExtensionItem as part of beginRequest. A different file URL is returned depending upon if the content blocking is on or off by a user setting A Safari Web Extension that includes a toolbar button and popover that enables users to enable or disable the ad blocking of the content blocker extension All three targets (App, Content Blocker appex and Web Extension appex) use an App Group default to read and set the on or off status of the content blocking. When the user changes the content blocking status, the app group default is updated and SFContentBlockerManager.reloadContentBlocker(...) is called. The Content Blocker extension reads the default and then returns the appropriate file URL. The issue is, I have noticed that whenever SFContentBlockerManager.reloadContentBlocker(...) is called from the app, Safari always applies the correct rules from the returned file URL. However sometimes when SFContentBlockerManager.reloadContentBlocker(...) is called from the Safari Web Extension using native messaging, Safari does NOT apply the correct rules from the returned file URL. Using logging I have confirmed that the Content Blocker extension always returns the appropriate file URL irrespective if called as a result of the app or the web extension. Despite this, Safari does not seem to always apply the returned file URL rules when it is called from the Safari Web Extension appex. In these cases, quitting Safari and relaunching it seems to make it apply the rules correctly (obviously this is applying it due to its launch state, not due to the Web extension appex asking it to do so at that point). All targets have access to the App Group location where the active content blocking file URL belongs and the inactive content blocking file URL is within the Safari content blocker target as a resource. I don't think this is a memory status issue as I cannot see the Content Blocker extension being killed when it returns complex rules --- the fact it always works when called via the app also seems to rule this possibility out. This brings up a number of questions: Is calling SFContentBlockerManager.reloadContentBlocker(...) from a different appex, of the same app target and app group supported? (it seems to work sometimes and did work in previous versions of the app). Is there an issue that the Content Blocker extension sometimes returns a file URL that perhaps the calling Web Extension appex may not have access to (even though Safari should via the Content Blocker extension)? Any other ideas of why this may not be working correctly? Has anyone else experienced this? It seems to happen on both iOS and macOS Safari using the same codebase.

I've been using Sign In with Apple for Web for the last six months, and it works well enough. Now, I'm updating the domain of the main application (we got the .com! yeah!) However, I can't find a way in the configuration UI to update the allowed redirect URLs for the application. I go to Identifiers -> My App -> Capabilities -> Sign In with Apple -> Edit button. It just allows me to edit whether this is a primary ID, or grouped ID, plus a callback URL (which I'm not currently using.)

I have had zero luck anywhere else and it’s at this point infuriating. February 23rd of this year I submitted a ticket in Feedback regarding how Safari for me has been broken. I can’t load any website at all, I have cleared cache, data, you name it. I have reset the phone after doing so and as I type this today on a brand new iPhone 17 Pro Max it still doesn’t work. Every single app that prompts a Safari window to sign in also doesn’t work and crashes just as Safari the app does. Sometimes I get a message that pops up that says “Webkit encountered an internal error” before it crashes. I can’t provide a screen recording or screen shots because Safari just crashes. I genuinely don’t know what to do or where to go for an answer and i’ve submitted seven updates to my open Feedback ticket since February 23rd 2025, spanning months from that original date and yet no change or help has came from it. I am clueless on how to even begin to go about fixing it and agitated because it’s been so long, so many other apps effected by this, even on a brand new device Safari still does not work for me. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated I used to have a 15 Pro Max but now on the 17 Pro Max and throughout the entire time i’ve been on the developer beta. Maybe that is the issue i’m unsure because now i’m just on iOS 26 so I don’t know if it’s just stuck like this forever. Again any help would be appreciated. I have not went physically to Apple yet to get this solved it‘s been a last resort, considering my options I might have to clear time to go. I’ve been using Chrome ever since this issue.

Hi all, I'm developing an application that uses WKWebView to display a web application which I augment with iOS native utilities such as Speech to Text and IAP. The application also uses Service workers, so we define AppBound Domains in the info.plist file. Everything works for this, but when we deploy on a device the application will crash and say we need these entitlements com.apple.developer.web-browser-engine.networking, com.apple.developer.web-browser-engine.rendering, com.apple.developer.web-browser-engine.webcontent, com.apple.runningboard.assertions.webkit From what I can see, we do need all of them. However Apple suggest submitting a request to be an Altnerative Browser (https://developer.apple.com/support/alternative-browser-engines) This is not appropriate for the application in my view since one requirement of being an alternative browser is that you don't modify the resources on the web site - we of course do since we inject javascript in order to bridge between iOS and the contents of the webview. How are people navigating this issue? I assumed it would be common given the use of Tauri etc. to build similar types of applications, but I don't see much about it. Thank you!

Under certain circumstances (scenario described below) the search is performed with an API which contains the safe search level in a URL parameter. We have written a PAC script that blocklists certain domains and whitelists others. We went to Settings > Network > Wi-Fi (the network we are using), then clicked on Details, and under Proxies, we added the PAC file URL in the Automatic Proxy Configuration section. We tried hosting the PAC file both on localhost and on a separate HTTP server. After saving the settings, we tested several URLs. The blocking and allowing behavior works correctly in all browsers except Safari. Below is the PAC script we are using for your reference. The script works as expected in browsers other than Safari. MacOS: 12 ( Monterrey ) Safari: 17.6 Demo Site: https://applepaydemo.apple.com/ At the bottom where the Apple Pay button should appear, I see a warning something like "This browser doesn't support Apple Pay, please use safari" along with a link to requirements for apple pay. All the requirements are fulfilled, OS and Safari's version are above the minimum required. Link was opened in Safari. And the other thing is if I open the same site in Chrome, I can see the apple pay button and when I click on it a QR appears which is the expected behaviour. How to resolve this?

I am trying to build and run a Safari Web Extension from Xcode and I have enabled "Allow unsigned extensions" in Safari settings. However, I see the below pop up: And, if click on the "Quit and Open Safari Extensions Preferences..." button, the project stops running on Xcode and nothing happens. What can be the issue? The extension works and runs fine if I get it from the Mac App Store and this only happens when running from Xcode. I even tried completely uninstalling the mac app store version and still facing the same issue.

I want to confirm the specifications and behavior of Safari. We have a system built on Microsoft Azure that uses Azure AD B2C for authentication. When we logging in, there is a phone authentication feature where a call is made to the registered phone number. However, this phone authentication does not work properly only on iPhone's Safari. The specific situation is listed below: When performing phone authentication on iPhone's Safari, a call is made from Azure AD B2C, and pressing the # button on the Safari screen can be done. But then, it transitions to an error screen. We tried multiple iPhone devices and multiple iOS versions, but the result was the same. But when accessing the system on a PC, and performing phone authentication, it works without any errors. Also when we use browsers other than Safari (for example, Google Chrome and Firefox) on the iPhone, the phone authentication works without any errors, too. Even with Safari, if the device displaying the login screen and the device making the call are different, phone authentication works without any errors, too.(it fails if they are the same device). We reached out Microsoft about this issue, and they responded that: The Azure resource called FrontDoor at the front end of Azure AD B2C supports the HTTP/2 protocol, and HTTP/2 protocol is used in communication with Safari. In Safari's HTTP/2 communication, when a call is received while the screen is displayed, a reset packet is sent to the web server (in this case, the web server is FrontDoor). This interrupts the session, causing a session termination error on the Azure AD B2C side, and phone authentication fails. Therefore, we would like to ask you the following two points: In HTTP/2 communication, does the Safari browser send a reset packet to the web server when it receives a phone call? If so, what is the cause of this behavior? And are there any measures to prevent the reset packet from being sent?
