ArAnchor shifts
I encountered some issues while developing a Vision Pro program using Unity. After binding an ARAnchor to a game object, I overlapped the virtual game object with a real-world cup. However, when I moved around with the Vision Pro on, the virtual game object shifted, causing the real-world cup and the virtual object to no longer coincide. Is there a way to solve this?

iCloud file reading and writing (iOS)
On my first attempt at adding iCloud to my existing app this is how far I've gotten. For reasons that I won't go into, the use case for my app does not need coordination. I have successfully made my app write a file to the Documents directory of iCloud and read back that same file without errors. In testing on a real iPhone 13 and iPhone 7 I have verified that my app can write a file to iCloud from the iPhone 7 and then read back that same file on the iPhone 13, so I know that the file truly exists in the cloud. But when I make my app on the iPhone 13 write to iCloud, my app on the iPhone 7 says the file does not exist. Exactly the same build of my app is running in both phones. This is problem #1. Problem #2 is that none of these files appear in the iCloud section of the Files app on either of these Phones, nor do they appear in the iCloud section of my Mac. All devices are signed in to my same Apple account in iCloud. Also my info.plist file in the app contains: <key>NSUbiquitousContainers</key> <dict> <dict> <key>iCloud.com.{my domain}.{my app}</key> <dict> <key>NSUbiquitousContainerIsDocumentScopePublic</key> <true/> <key>NSUbiquitousContainerSupportedFolderLevels</key> <string>Any</string> <key>NSUbiquitousContainerName</key> <string>{my app}</string> </dict> </dict> </dict> <key>UIFileSharingEnabled</key><true/> The iPhone 7 is running iOS 15.8.4 and the iPhone 13 is running iOS 18.3.2. The code that does the writing to iCloud is: NSFileManager *fman = [NSFileManager defaultManager]; NSURL *urlDrive = [fman URLForUbiquityContainerIdentifier: nil]; NSURL *urlDocs = [urlDrive URLByAppendingPathComponent:@"Documents"]; if(urlDocs.path == nil) { NSLog(@"NULL path"); return; //..big problem } if( ! [fman fileExistsAtPath: urlDocs.path] ) { //..need to create the Docs directory NSError *err00 = nil; @try { [fman createDirectoryAtURL: urlDocs withIntermediateDirectories:true attributes:nil error:&err00]; NSLog(@"created the directory"); } @catch (NSException *except) { NSLog(@"Exception creating directory %@", except); } } //..directory is now created NSLog(@"url=%@", urlDocs); NSURL *urlFile = [urlDocs URLByAppendingPathComponent:txtfname()]; NSData *fdata = [@"Hello world" dataUsingEncoding: NSUTF8StringEncoding]; NSLog(@"file url=%@", urlFile); NSLog(@"file Data=%@", fdata); NSError *errorReturn = nil; Boolean ret = [fdata writeToURL: urlFile options: NSDataWritingAtomic error: &errorReturn]; NSLog(@"returned %1d, error=%@", ret?1:0, errorReturn); And the code that does the reading is: NSFileManager *fman = [NSFileManager defaultManager]; NSURL *urlDrive = [fman URLForUbiquityContainerIdentifier: nil]; NSURL *urlDocs = [urlDrive URLByAppendingPathComponent:@"Documents"]; NSLog(@"url=%@", urlDocs); if(urlDocs.path == nil) { NSLog(@"urlDocs.path is NULL!"); return; //..big problem } if( ! [fman fileExistsAtPath: urlDocs.path] ) { //..need to create the Docs directory NSLog(@"It seems the urlDocs folder does not exist"); } NSURL *urlFile = [urlDocs URLByAppendingPathComponent:txtfname()]; if([fman fileExistsAtPath: urlFile.path]) { NSLog(@"file %@ exists", urlFile); [fman copyItemAtURL: urlFile toURL:<#(nonnull NSURL *)#> error:<#(NSError *__autoreleasing _Nullable * _Nullable)#>]; } else { NSLog(@"file %@ DOES NOT EXIST!", urlFile); }

i0S26 issue with CarPlay
I just upgraded to iOS 26.0 Now when I use car play, the text messages do not show up, only the notification tone on my phone alarms. So now when I get texts while driving, I need to read my phone to read the text. I tried all the solutions within settings but this is a BIG DRAWBACK compared to the old iOS.

Question about Apple partnerships
I see games like Resident Evil and others have a partnership with Apple to help bring it to the MacOS and iOS platform and I was wondering if anyone knows how a company gets these partnerships, is it Apple who reaches out or do they have to reach out?

Affiliate links to external Web store
Hello all. I am currently developing a database app of particular products for people who collect this item. Let's say model airplanes. People can look at their list of model airplanes and also see a collection of airplanes by model companies. I want to offer a link from a product in my app to a local retailer's website who sells this product on their website. Not just their base site, but directly to the products page. Meaning each product in my database will have a unique link to an external product page. This could also include links to Ebay or Amazon if local retailer doesn't sell the product. Is this sort of feature allowed inside App Store Apps as technically it's not an in-app purchase? I do see some vague answers around but none that target this specific circumstance. Thankyou in advance.

iOS 18.4 Upgrade Causes Installed Apps to Revert to Older Versions
We have observed an issue where upgrading an iPhone to iOS 18.4 causes installed apps to revert to significantly older versions. For example, if the App Store version is 1.0.284 and the user had 1.0.283 installed before the upgrade, after updating to iOS 18.4, the app version reverts to 1.0.208—which is nearly a year old. We suspect this may be related to iCloud backup restoration. Has Apple encountered similar cases, and is there a known resolution for this issue?

CoreData error: SQLCore dispatchRequest: no such table: ZAPPSETTINGS. I/O error opening
Issue with SwiftData: “no such table: ZAPPSETTINGS” and SQLite I/O error on app launch Hello, I’m encountering persistent errors with SwiftData in my SwiftUI app related to Core Data’s underlying SQLite database. Despite defining my models correctly, the app fails to initialize the persistent store, throwing the following error on startup: CoreData error: SQLCore dispatchRequest: no such table: ZAPPSETTINGS. I/O error opening database at /.../default.store. SQLite error code:1, NSSQLiteErrorDomain=1. File “default.store” couldn’t be opened. Context The error only appears concerning my AppSettings model. I have another model, LocationPoint, which appears correctly defined and used. I have tried deleting the app, resetting the device, and cleaning builds but the error persists. The error message suggests the database file is present but the table for ZAPPSETTINGS (the Core Data table for AppSettings) does not exist. Code Samples Main App Entry import SwiftData import SwiftUI @main struct Krow3_0App: App { @State private var userLocationManager = UserLocationManager() @State private var geocodingViewModel = GeocodingViewModel() @State private var locationSearchViewModel = LocationSearchViewModel() @State private var router = Router() var body: some Scene { WindowGroup { LaunchView() .environment(userLocationManager) .environment(geocodingViewModel) .environment(locationSearchViewModel) .environment(router) .modelContainer(for: [LocationPoint.self, AppSettings.self]) } } } AppSettings Model import Foundation import SwiftData @Model class AppSettings { var isMetric: Bool init(isMetric: Bool = false) { self.isMetric = isMetric } } What I’ve Tried Fully uninstalling and reinstalling the app on device and simulator. Resetting the simulator/device. Cleaning the Xcode build folder. Verifying the schema logs which correctly list both LocationPoint and AppSettings. Changing model names to avoid potential conflicts. Adding .modelContainer configuration with autosave enabled. Questions Is there a known bug or limitation with SwiftData concerning certain model setups or naming? Could this be related to how the data container initializes or migrates schemas? Are there recommended debugging or migration steps to resolve “no such table” SQLite errors with SwiftData? How can I safely reset or migrate the persistent store without corrupting the database? Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Persistent Remote Access or Network Manipulation? Technical Findings and Questionsh
Hi all, I’m not a developer, but I’m hoping someone with iOS system or network experience can help me understand some very persistent and unusual behavior on my iPhone. I’ve gathered system logs and app-level diagnostics and would really appreciate insight from anyone familiar with daemons, VPN tunnels, or MDM behavior on Apple platforms. Summary of Issues Over Time March 2025: Most apps begin logging out automatically when closed April 2025: Passwords across apps and browsers begin failing May–June 2025: Gmail password reset emails stop arriving (even though other email works) These symptoms suggest something affecting secure sessions, DNS routing, or background data handling. I began running diagnostics and found unexpected system and network behaviors: Examples: com.apple.mobile.lockdown.remote.trusted file_relay.shim.remote pcapd.shim.remote webinspector.shim.remote bluetooth.BTPacketLogger.shim.remote On a normal, non-jailbroken device, I wouldn't expect so many .shim.remote or .diagnostic services to be active. Is this expected on iOS 18.5? The binary /usr/sbin/scutil appears to be missing. This breaks commands like: scutil --dns scutil --proxy scutil --nc list On a standard iOS device, is it even possible for scutil to be removed or disabled? App Behavior and Config Locking (Cloudflare WARP Log) From the logs of the Cloudflare WARP app (not enterprise-managed): The app repeatedly forces VPN tunnels to reconnect or restart by injecting dummy URLs (force OS to restart the network extension process). It tries to load policy configuration from MDM and Teams APIs (even though no MDM appears in Settings). Many config items are marked as: locked: true, visible: true including: DNS logs Fallback DNS Trusted WiFi settings The account is labeled as: WarpAccountRole.child which may explain some restrictions — but I’ve never set this manually. This seems more advanced than what the standard WARP app does. Could a provisioning profile or side-loaded config be applying these? Key Questions for the Community Are ~50 remote diagnostic services (.shim.remote) normal on iOS 18.5 stock devices? Could a VPN app (e.g. WARP) or hidden config enforce flow-switching across interfaces like ipsec, awdl, and pdp_ip, even when not visibly active? Can a provisioning profile or managed config enable services like file_relay, pcapd, or webinspector silently — without any visible MDM profile? Has anyone seen scutil or other network tools missing on a stock iPhone? What could cause this? Does WARP in MASQUE mode normally lock DNS settings and force tunnel restarts — or could this indicate tampering? If anyone on iOS 18.5 / iPhone17,1 can share their remotectl_dumpstate output, I'd love to compare. Happy to share sanitized logs or run more tests if helpful. Thank you for any insights — especially from those familiar with internal services, VPN frameworks, or supervised profiles. get-network-info.txt remotectl_dumpstate.txt assetsd.diskwrites_resource-2025-06-25-221428.json More network info.txt linkText](https://www.example.com/)

How can I create a shortcut to toggle macro control in iPhone settings?
I’d like to create a button on my iPhone Home Screen that changes settings if I am using an external lens mounted to my phone. This is what I have along with notes on what I hope to do. But it does not work. I am only able to open either the camera settings or the camera preserve settings but nothing will toggle macro controls. There is an additional step within the camera app as well but it can be skipped for brevity. Name: Telephoto and macro lenses Check if macro settings are already enabled or not. (Settings > Camera > Macro Control toggle) as well as (Settings > Camera > Preserve Settings > Macro Control toggle) Non-working shortcut code: Verification question: "Are you using an external lens?" If yes, Notification: "Turning on Macro Control and preserve settings for macro control." (Run below immediately) prefs:root=CAMERA&path=Turn%20On%20Macro_Control And prefs:root=CAMERA&path=CameraPreserveSettingsSwitch&path=Turn%20On%20Macro_Control If no, Notification: "Turning off Macro Control and Preserve Settings for macro control." (Run below immediately) prefs:root=CAMERA&path=Turn%20Off%20Macro_Control And prefs:root=CAMERA&path=CameraPreserveSettingsSwitch&path=Turn%20Off%20Macro_Control

iOS 18 System Bug Causes URL Scheme Failure
iOS 18 System Bug Causes URL Scheme Failure A bug in iOS 18 causes URL Schemes to become invalid through the following steps, resulting in failure to open apps via URL Scheme. Reproduction Steps: Long-press the app icon Select "Require Face ID" Choose "Hide and Require Face ID" to hide the app Go to the App Library and locate the hidden app in the "Hidden" folder Uninstall the hidden app reinstalling the hidden app After reinstalling the app, all configured URL Schemes will become invalid, causing failure when attempting to open the app via URL Scheme. The issue appears to be that after uninstalling a hidden app and reinstalling it, the system fails to restore the app's URL Scheme functionality.

EAP-TLS Wi-Fi and VPN Certificate Authentication – Unexpected Keychain Prompts on macOS
Hello all, We are in the process of deploying EAP-TLS Wi-Fi authentication across our corporate environment for both Windows and macOS devices. All endpoints are managed via Workspace ONE. As part of our macOS configuration, we are pushing device certificates to the login keychain of managed MacBooks. For testing purposes, we have explicitly set the Access Control List (ACL) of the associated private key to allow all applications access. This includes: eapolclient, which handles the EAP-TLS handshake for Wi-Fi panGPS, which is responsible for establishing the GlobalProtect VPN connection (we are using certificate-based authentication with pre-logon enabled) Additionally, we have configured and deployed a Wi-Fi profile via Workspace ONE to prevent users from having to manually select their device certificate - basically the identity preference card in Keychain Access. Despite these settings, we are still encountering Keychain Access prompts when eapolclient attempts to access the private key. This happens even though the key is configured to allow all applications access. This behavior is unexpected, and we’re trying to understand why these prompts persist. Has anyone encountered similar behavior on macOS, or is there something we're missing in terms of permissions or keychain configuration that could be causing this? We would greatly appreciate any insight or guidance. Thank you, Kyo

In rare VoIP calls, B can’t hear A, but A can hear B — audio input issue on iOS?
Hi everyone, We’re seeing a rare but frustrating issue in our iOS VoIP app and would appreciate any advice. What’s happening: In some VoIP calls between two users (let’s say A and B), B can’t hear A’s voice, but A can still hear B just fine. It doesn’t happen often, but once it does, the issue persists until the device is restarted. Users who experience this issue typically have other voice or conferencing apps installed and actively use them. They report that when our app runs into this problem, those other apps continue to work normally. ⸻ What we’ve ruled out: • AVAudioSession has microphone permission, and audio input works under normal conditions • Network conditions are stable • App-side logic seems solid — the issue occurs extremely rarely (e.g., 1 out of several thousand calls), making it unlikely to be caused by a consistent bug in our call flow ⸻ What we’ve tried to fix it (all ineffective): Restarting the call — no effect Force-quitting and relaunching the app — no effect Toggling Bluetooth: disconnecting and reconnecting audio route, or switching back to built-in mic — no effect Replugging wired headphones or switching to the default iPhone audio input — no effect ⸻ What actually works (so far): • Restarting the device — this is the only action that reliably fixes the issue ⸻ What we’re looking for help with: 1. Does this sound like an iOS-level AVAudioSession routing or audio stack issue? 2. Is there any way to recover from this state without rebooting the device — either through iOS system settings or programmatically? 3. Are there any known audio routing or input bugs in iOS that match this behavior? Thanks in advance — any suggestions or pointers would be greatly appreciated!

iOS 18 System Bug Causes URL Scheme Failure
iOS 18 System Bug Causes URL Scheme Failure A bug in iOS 18 causes URL Schemes to become invalid through the following steps, resulting in failure to open apps via URL Scheme.

Unknown unauthorized mdm
m personal iPhone is managed by an Unauthorized and Unknown mdm management team, The profile isn’t showing up in VPN Settings and I can’t remove them from having Remote access and control over my Personal Device! I’ve SPENT MANY MONTHS TRYING TO GET SUPPORT VIA EMAILING APPLE DEVELOPER AND SPEAKING TO APPLE SUPPORT WHICH HAS BEEN EXTREMELY EXHAUSTING AND HUMILIATIN! I’ve resorted to contacting Internet crime websit, the federal trade commissio, Better business bureau and Consumer Affairs to file an online complaint against Apple for not complying with their Security and Privacy policy for consumers accounts! Because of this unauthorized and unknown mdm devi management profile I don’t have COMPLETE CONTROL OVER MY OWN IPHONE! !

Read-only file system (Mac OS Extended)
After updating to another beta of High Sierra, my internal hard drive became read-only somehow. I have a user home directory on that and many things have stopped working. I tried re-installing the OS, but it didn't help. I'm out of options by now. Anyone has ideas how can I fix that?
