Problem applying screen changes (icon arrangement) in iOS 26 using Apple Configurator v2.18 on macOS Sequoia 15.6.1
I encounter a connection error with Apple Configurator v2.18 when, after making changes in macOS Sequel 15.6.1, I want to apply and transfer the changes to the iPhone icon layout in iOS 26: Apple Configurator v2.18 crashes and returns an error message: ‘Try the operation again. If it fails, quit the application, launch it again, and try again. [NSCocoaErrorDomain – 0x1001 (4097)]’ I have done some research, and it seems that this bug has been identified and fixed in Apple Configurator 2 v2.19 (Build 10434). Have you encountered this problem? Do you know where to find version v2.19? This fixed version does not appear to have been released yet, and Apple support has been unable to help me. Thank you all for your help.

Help Setting Up Apple MDM Vendor-Signed CSR and Push Certificate
Hello, I have an Apple Developer Enterprise account, and Apple Support has already enabled MDM for my account. I successfully downloaded and installed my MDM Vendor Certificate (it shows up in Keychain as MDM Vendor: [My Company Name] with its private key). Here’s what I’ve done so far: Exported the Vendor Certificate + private key as a .p12, then converted to .pem and .key using OpenSSL. Generated an unsigned CSR with CN=com.apple.mgmt.External. using OpenSSL. Attempted to sign the CSR using: my Vendor certificate the Vendor private key Apple Worldwide Developer Relations (WWDR) intermediate certificate OpenSSL smime -sign command with DER output Problem: Every time I try to upload the vendor-signed CSR to the Apple Push Certificates Portal, I get an error (CSR rejected). Sometimes OpenSSL even fails with “unable to load certificates” depending on how the WWDR certificate is included. My Questions: What is the correct OpenSSL command and certificate chain Apple expects for signing the CSR? Do I need to include any additional intermediates besides WWDR? Is there an official Apple reference example for generating the vendor-signed CSR that the Push Certificates Portal will accept? Any guidance from the community (or someone who has successfully done this end-to-end) would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Sergio Sanchez

Enterprise Program Renewal date keeps moving
Hi We've had an Enterprise Developer a/c for years. But last year they asked a bunch a questions to confirm we were a company. I answered them all and then it said it would review the answers. Were a big company and answered these questions before so just expected it to go through. Then our Enterprise Program a/c was up for renewal in April. But the money was never taken from the company cc and every expiry date the renewal date keeps moving forward a month. Its now been moved to Sep 2025. Either were getting April-Sep free or were going to be landed with a CC bill for 12+5 months soon. Anyone else seeing this. Is there an email or webpage for Enterprise a/c support? We have the money :)

.mobileconfig with Managed App Configuration on enrolled devices for Public Unlisted App
Hello, We are working with an iOS app that is distributed as a Public Unlisted App Store app. Our MDM allows us to import the app by URL, but when added this way, the app is marked as unmanaged in the inventory. Because of that, we cannot assign a Managed App Configuration payload to it in the normal way. What we are trying to achieve: Deliver a configuration profile to all enrolled devices before the app is installed. When the user installs the app from the MDM catalog, the app should immediately see the configuration values. Questions we’re hoping to clarify: Is it technically feasible to pre-provision a Managed App Configuration for an app in this scenario, by pushing a .mobileconfig profile to all devices? If yes, what would be the correct payload format and content of such a .mobileconfig file? We’ve tested a profile format we found here that uses com.apple.managed-app-config PayloadType and a ManagedAppConfiguration key with the bundle ID nested inside, but iOS reports this as “payload not recognized.” From what we understand, that may not be part of Apple’s schema. Any guidance from Apple or the community on whether this use case is possible (and, if so, what the valid profile format should look like) would be very helpful. Note: For a complicated company policy, at the moment we are not able to participate in ABM. Thanks in advance!

Kernel Panic: SEP Panic (SKS) Triggered by MDM Clear Passcode on iOS 18.3.2 (iPhone 12 Pro)
Hello Developers, We are encountering a consistent Kernel Panic issue on an iPhone device after sending a "Clear Passcode" command via our MDM solution. We're looking for insights or confirmation if others have experienced similar behavior. Device & Environment Details: Device: iPhone13,2 (iPhone 12 Pro) OS Version: iPhone OS 18.3.2 (Build 22D82) (Please note this appears to be a future/beta build identifier) Action Triggering Panic: Sending MDM ClearPasscode command. Roots Installed: 0 (Device is not jailbroken) Incident ID: 4B41C0AE-EE93-4051-BEE4-AB98438C10F0 Panic Log Summary: The kernel panic log clearly indicates the issue originates from the Secure Enclave Processor (SEP). The key panic string is: panic(cpu 3 caller 0xfffffff02357bc1c): SEP Panic: :sks /sks : 0x1000b15fc 0x0003ad60 0x0003ad44 0x100028698 0x10002cae4 0x10002a908 0x10002bc10 0x100045330 [hgggrhlvs] Panic app vers: 1827.80.10 Panic app UUID: 4C066E88-EB93-33C3-BCA7-C5F5474831CC ... Root task vers: AppleSEPOS-2772.80.2 Root task UUID: A39D6C5D-D07D-33EE-85A3-9105A8D93CE2 ... sks /sks 0x329cc/0x326e0/0x1314131413141314 ert/BOOT Use code with caution. The SEP Panic and reference to :sks /sks strongly suggest an issue within the Secure Key Store subsystem of the SEP. The panic occurred on CPU core 3. The kernel backtrace points to the com.apple.driver.AppleSEPManager kernel extension as the immediate caller in the main kernel that initiated the panic process after receiving the signal from the SEP. Analysis/Interpretation: Based on the log, it appears that the MDM ClearPasscode command, which necessarily interacts with the SEP's Secure Key Store via the AppleSEPManager driver, triggered an internal fault or bug within the SEP firmware (AppleSEPOS). This SEP-level panic subsequently caused the main iOS kernel to panic. Questions: Has anyone else encountered similar SEP panics, specifically involving the SKS subsystem, particularly after issuing MDM commands like ClearPasscode on iOS 18.x builds (especially 18.3.2 / 22D82)? Is this a known issue in this specific iOS/SEP firmware version? Are there any suggested workarounds for clearing passcodes via MDM on affected devices/OS versions, or any further diagnostic steps recommended? We appreciate any insights or shared experiences the community might have on this issue. Thank you.

com.apple.profileRemovalPassword not working (MDM)
Hi. I am writing a little MDM application. Despite the basic task (add a password for 'remove profile' button in settings), it seems I am stuck with a problem: When I try to enroll my device with enrollment.mobileconfig file, Apple Configurator app, I receive an error The profile “Enrollment Profile” could not be installed because it is invalid. Make sure the profile is valid and try installing it again. The original architecture of my .mobileconfig contains of two payloads (com.apple.security.scep , com.apple.mdm), and it works correctly. However, when I try to add a third payload of com.apple.profileRemovalPassword , I receive the error stated above. From logs collected on iPhone, here's what was found : Failed to parse profile data. Error: NSError: Desc : The profile “Enrollment Profile” is invalid. Sugg : A profile containing an MDM payload must be removable. US Desc: The profile “Enrollment Profile” is invalid. US Sugg: A profile containing an MDM payload must be removable. Domain : MCProfileErrorDomain Code : 1000 Type : MCFatalError Params : ( "Enrollment Profile" ) ...Underlying error: NSError: Desc : A profile containing an MDM payload must be removable. US Desc: A profile containing an MDM payload must be removable. There is also a second error produced: Profile MCConfigurationProfile, version 1: Display Name: “Enrollment Profile” Description : “***” Identifier : *** UUID : *** Organization: *** Is Stub : No Locked : Yes Removal passcode present Encrypted : No Trusted : 0 Signed : No Device Type : 0 Payloads: Payload MCSCEPPayload, version 1 Description : “***” Identifier : *** UUID : *** Type : com.apple.security.scep Display name: *** Organization: *** Payload MCMDMPayload, version 1 Description : “***” Identifier : *** UUID : *** Type : com.apple.mdm Organization: *** Payload MCRemovalPasswordPayload, version 1 Identifier : com.examp Can't parse profile: <decode: missing data> The code for com.apple.profileRemovalPassword is taken from apple documentation (https://developer.apple.com/documentation/devicemanagement/profileremovalpassword) I have also tried the automatic way - creating it from Apple Configurator, so it is correct in terms of syntax 100%. Several important notes: Creating a fresh new profile with just password removal protection single payload allows to perform a download of the profile If I comment out the whole com.apple.mdm payload block, I will be able to download this profile on iPhone also The com.apple.mdm block is also valid by itself, and works correctly I have tried implementing other types of "dummy" payloads - for example com.apple.dock <dict> <key>PayloadType</key> <string>com.apple.dock</string> <key>PayloadVersion</key> <integer>1</integer> <key>PayloadIdentifier</key> <string>com.example.test.dock</string> <key>PayloadUUID</key> <string>22222222-3333-4444-5555-666666666666</string> <key>PersistentApps</key> <array/> </dict> And everything worked out fine. So my hypothetical conclusion out of these four notes might be in some type of interconnection between mdm and profileRemovalPassword, which isn't really listed anywhere? Or am I missing something ? Thank you in advance.

Captive Portal API (RFC-8908)
Our organization is deploying passwordless authentication. Instead of using a password, employees must use the Microsoft Authenticator app to complete the login process. Unfortunately, employees with passwordless authentication can't complete the login on the Wi-Fi Captive portal with SAML authentication. The reason is that when an employee switches to the Microsoft Authenticator app, the Apple CNA (Apple Network Captive Assistant) disappears. As a result, the authentication process breaks. According to the https://developer.apple.com/news/?id=q78sq5rv source, iOS 14+ devices support the RFC-8908 standard. Unfortunately, we couldn't find a reliable source on how this feature works on iOS devices. The question is: Is it possible to automatically forward Wi-Fi clients to the SAML authentication portal in the default browser app (for example, Safari) after connecting an employee to Wi-Fi?

Managment of other computers on an Internet Sharing network
I am trying to correctly manage about 20 Mac, iPhones and PC inside a Wi-Fi network built through System Settings > Sharing > Internet Sharing To achieve this task I defined a complete configuration file: /etc/bootpd.plist which is used by /usr/libexec/InternetSharing. But every time /usr/libexec/InternetSharing is starting the file /etc/bootpd.plist is overwritten by another file and my configuration is thus fully lost. How to set a correct /etc/bootps.plist file and avoid its total overwrite by /usr/libexec/InternetSharing? Is it necessary to write this bootpd.plist in some other directory for /usr/libexec/InternetSharing to load it without destroying it? I got the same configuration total erase on macOS Big Sur and Sequoia.

iOS 18.5 MDM Screen Lock
Hello, I am running into a bit of an issue with the Screen Timeout/Screen Lock setting and would like some clarification on. First for a bit of context, I am enrolling personal iOS devices 18.0+ into the company MDM (Intune) with Account Driven User Enrollment. We are trying to set a screen timeout of 5 minutes and immediately after it asks for the passcode on the device, though this setting is not being applied and the device timeout setting can be set as "Never" on the user's end. This is a big security risk for the company I work for and and the issue with being HIPAA compliant. According to the Microsoft Intune Support, "In iOS 18, when using Account-Driven User Enrollment for BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) scenarios, the screen lock timeout setting is indeed marked as “Not Applicable”. This is because Apple’s privacy-preserving model for personal devices restricts administrative control over system-level settings like screen lock or idle timeout." I am needing clarification on the item mentioned from Microsoft Intune Support and if this setting is no longer able to be applied from the MDM with devices enrolled with Account Driven User Enrollment?

External."

Apple Developer Program subscription is active, but my account is still not activated
Hello, My Apple Developer Program subscription is active in Apple subscriptions and valid until March 19, 2027, but my developer account is still not activated and I have not received the confirmation email. The purchase was completed through the Apple Developer app on my wife’s iPhone, but the enrollment was for my own Apple Account. In the app, I see the message: “You’ll receive an email soon.” Has anyone had the same issue? How was it resolved? Thank you.

Enterprise Device Management
We are trying to develop an app that will be responsible for managing 5000+ managed iPads through Intune MDM. The user flow is to have a device locked to a single app when a user is not logged in, but to make the device available to other apps once a user is authenticated. We already tried UIAccessibility GuidedAccess Mode and autonomous single app mode but those were not sufficient due to our need to be able to toggle this from the background. When the device may be asleep. So another way we could achieve this functionality would be to control all app access under a launching mechanism. That way we could allow one app to be visible in our MDM configuration and try to access our business app through that using deep links. If this were to work, we would have to be able to hide an app and still make it launchable from the manager. Any ideas? Thanks

ABM Sync Fails with “Terms and Conditions Not Signed” Error Despite Acceptance
We are experiencing an issue with Apple Business Manager (ABM) synchronization that is blocking our device management workflow. Issue Description: During the ABM sync process in our MDM, we receive the error: "ABM Terms and Conditions not signed." What We’ve Checked: Logged into the ABM portal as the Administrator and confirmed that the latest Terms and Conditions. Attempted to renew the ABM token on our existing server, but the same error message continues to appear in MDM. Tried creating a brand new ABM server integration, which also fails with the same error. We checked with our MDM provider and they shared the logs, response received from ABM. It says T_C_NOT_SIGNED. But we have already accepted all the new Terms in ABM. We would appreciate any help in resolving this issue or guidance on what steps to take next.

Does MDM ClearPasscode work during passcode lockout (“Try again in X minutes” / Security Lockout)?
Hi, I’m testing the ClearPasscode MDM command: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/devicemanagement/clear-passcode-command Question: If a user enters the passcode incorrectly multiple times and the device becomes temporarily locked (e.g., “Try again in X minutes”) or reaches “Security Lockout”, can ClearPasscode still be executed successfully while the device is in that state? {'ErrorCode': 5013, 35708 'ErrorDomain': 'MCPasscodeErrorDomain', 35709 'LocalizedDescription': '\xe3\x81\x93...x89', 35710 'USEnglishDescription': 'The passcode cannot be cleared (-1)'} If it depends on conditions (e.g., supervised vs. user enrollment, availability of UnlockToken, network/check-in state), could you clarify which conditions are required? Thank you.

I am using system_profiler command to check on the installed application list from mac device. **Terminal command to check installed java version - ** But while running /usr/sbin/system_profiler SPApplicationsDataType -xml , I cant able to find Java as an installed application. Is this a known issue or do we have any alternative workaround to fetch the same?

Thank you.
