Express Mode when Apple Wallet it's not the default wallet.
We are currently developing a wallet solution that uses the iOS EEA HCE API’s, during the testing of enabling our wallet as the system default wallet, we are being presented with an iOS system alert that states: “Change the default contactless app? You can double-click to use cards in your default app. If Apple Wallet is not your default wallet app, you’ll need to open Wallet to use its cards, keys and tickets. Express Mode will continue to work when iphone is held near a compatible reader” Please can you advise how we can prevent Apple Pay’s express mode from intercepting the customers preferred wallet actions including transit payments. If this is not possible please can you provide the rationale for this not being possible given the Digital Marketing Act interoperability guidelines and EU Commitments in case AT.40452.

Push notifications to api.push.apple.com sometimes fail
We have a case when we send 8 push notifications more or less simultaneously over 1 HTTP 2.0 connection. Using .NET Core 8 Sometimes some of them fail with a strange message: System.Net.Http.HttpRequestException: The response ended prematurely while waiting for the next frame from the server. (ResponseEnded) ---> System.Net.Http.HttpIOException: The response ended prematurely while waiting for the next frame from the server. (ResponseEnded) at System.Net.Http.Http2Connection.ThrowRequestAborted(Exception innerException) at System.Net.Http.Http2Connection.Http2Stream.TryEnsureHeaders() at System.Net.Http.Http2Connection.Http2Stream.ReadResponseHeadersAsync(CancellationToken cancellationToken) at System.Net.Http.Http2Connection.SendAsync(HttpRequestMessage request, Boolean async, CancellationToken cancellationToken) --- End of inner exception stack trace --- at System.Net.Http.Http2Connection.SendAsync(HttpRequestMessage request, Boolean async, CancellationToken cancellationToken) at System.Net.Http.HttpConnectionPool.SendWithVersionDetectionAndRetryAsync(HttpRequestMessage request, Boolean async, Boolean doRequestAuth, CancellationToken cancellationToken) at System.Net.Http.RedirectHandler.SendAsync(HttpRequestMessage request, Boolean async, CancellationToken cancellationToken) at System.Net.Http.DecompressionHandler.SendAsync(HttpRequestMessage request, Boolean async, CancellationToken cancellationToken) at Microsoft.Extensions.Http.Logging.HttpClientLoggerHandler.SendAsync(HttpRequestMessage request, CancellationToken cancellationToken) We noticed that failure is always accompanied with a huge delay (~500ms) comparing to success (~20ms). Also some of the burst messages are sent successfully (sometimes 2-4 of them) What can we do about it?

Live caller id lookup onboard appstore
I have been working to implement Apple's Live Caller ID feature, which requires setting up a relay server. Following Apple's guidelines, I submitted a request through the provided link to utilize Apple's relay server. However, it's been three weeks, and I have yet to receive a response. I contacted Apple Support, but they indicated that this is a technical matter beyond their scope. Has anyone successfully received confirmation from Apple regarding the use of their relay server for Live Caller ID? If so, could you share your experience or any advice on how to proceed? url: https://developer.apple.com/contact/request/live-caller-id-lookup/ Thank you.

How to turn off shortcuts notifications permanently apart from turning it off via screen time as it keeps turning itself back ON.
I have created a configuration profile which basically just turns off notifications for Shortcuts app but I am unable to install it on my iPhone as I am getting the following error “This profile can be installed on a supervised device only” can someone please help me with this? Would also appreciate if you have another way to turn off shortcuts notifications permanently since when I turn it off via screen time it keeps turning itself ON every couple of days.

Bluetooth driver crashes on IOS 18.2.1 (22C161)
I have been trying to investigate some of the kernel crashes I have noticed on my IOS crash logs. Some of these are in device driver software for the peripheral interfaces. Given that the driver code executes with kernel privileges, these kind of crashes leave the device vulnerable to remote code injection, with no user interaction required in some cases. Crash Report from IOS 18.2.1 If Apple can provide the symbol table for IOS 18.2.1 blue tooth driver and source code, I can gladly help investigate this further.

When Using Callkit audio doesn't have permission to work
I am creating a voip app, I am trying to use call kit to answer calls, however audio doesn't seem to work when using callKit when looking at the systems logs I see no server connection when checking background audio state, won't allow background audio! background audio processAllowed = 0 for displayID com.apple.TelephonyUtilities no server connection when checking background audio state, won't allow background audio! background audio processAllowed = 0 for displayID {my app id} I have the plist entries for background ui modes for voip, audio, fetch and background notifications along with the backgrounds modes for Voip, Audio, AirPlay, and Picture in Picture, Background notifications. I am unsure what to do about this, like my reading of the error is I can't use audio cause I am not connected to a server, but like is it any server, Am I suppose to connect to the voip call before setting up audio, I am not sure how to do that.

NFC Communication Issues on iPhone 12–15 with NXP NTAG 5 (ISO15693 Pass-Through Mode)
We are developing an iOS app that communicates with a device using an NXP NTAG 5 chip in ISO15693 pass-through mode. While the app works flawlessly on older iPhone models (iPhone 8, SE, X) and most Android devices, we are experiencing severe reliability issues on iPhone 12, 13, 14, and 15. Issue Summary On newer iPhones (12–15), 90% of communication attempts fail. Retry strategies do not work, as the NFC session is unexpectedly canceled while handling CoreNFC custom commands. The issue is not consistent—sometimes all requests fail immediately, while other times, a batch of reads might succeed unexpectedly before failing again. Technical Details The failure occurs while executing the following request, which should return 256 bytes: tag.customCommand(requestFlags: .highDataRate, customCommandCode: commandCode, customRequestParameters: Data(byteArray)) { (responseData, error) in } The returned error is: -[NFCTagReaderSession transceive:tagUpdate:error:]:897 Error Domain=NFCError Code=100 "Tag connection lost" UserInfo={NSLocalizedDescription=Tag connection lost} For reference, we tested a comparable STM ST25 chip in ISO15693 and NDEF mode, and the exact same issue occurs. Observations and Debugging Attempts Positioning of the NFC antenna has been tested extensively. Disabling Bluetooth and Wi-Fi does not improve reliability. Rebooting the device or waiting between attempts sometimes improves success rates but does not provide a structural fix. When reading multiple blocks (e.g., 15 blocks of 256 bytes each): The process often fails within the first three blocks. After multiple failures, it may suddenly succeed in reading all blocks in one go before returning to a series of failures. The nfcd logs suggest issues at the low-level NFC and SPMI layers, indicating potential hardware or firmware-related problems: error 17:36:18.289099+0100 nfcd phOsalNfc_LogStr:65 NCI DATA RSP : Timer expired before data is received! error 17:36:18.292936+0100 nfcd NFHardwareSerialQuerySPMIError:1339 "Invalid argument" errno=22 setsockopt: SYSPROTO_CONTROL:IO_STOCKHOLM_SPMIERRORS error 17:36:18.293036+0100 nfcd phTmlNfc_SpmiDrvErrorStatus:1157 "Invalid argument" errno=22 Failed to query SPMI error registers error 17:36:18.293235+0100 nfcd phOsalNfc_LogStr:65 phLibNfc_SpmiStsRegInfoNtfHandler: Read Spmi Status Failed - pInfo set to NULL error 17:36:18.293313+0100 nfcd _Callback_NFDriverNotifyGeneral:2353 Unknown notification: 0x5b error 17:36:18.294163+0100 nfcd phOsalNfc_LogStr:65 Target Lost!! error 17:36:18.294678+0100 nfcd -[_NFReaderSession handleSecureElementTransactionData:appletIdentifier:]:164 Unimplemented error 17:36:18.294760+0100 nfcd -[_NFReaderSession handleSecureElementTransactionData:appletIdentifier:]:164 Unimplemented error 17:36:18.320132+0100 nfcd phOsalNfc_LogStr:65 ISO15693 XchgData,PH_NCINFC_STATUS_RF_FRAME_CORRUPTED Detected by NFCC during Data Exchange error 17:36:18.320291+0100 nfcd phOsalNfc_LogU32:74 phNciNfc_ChkDataRetransmission: Re-transmitting Data pkt Attempt..=1 error 17:36:18.622050+0100 nfcd phOsalNfc_LogStr:65 NCI DATA RSP : Timer expired before data is received! error 17:36:18.625857+0100 nfcd NFHardwareSerialQuerySPMIError:1339 "Invalid argument" errno=22 setsockopt: SYSPROTO_CONTROL:IO_STOCKHOLM_SPMIERRORS error 17:36:18.625919+0100 nfcd phTmlNfc_SpmiDrvErrorStatus:1157 "Invalid argument" errno=22 Failed to query SPMI error registers error 17:36:18.626132+0100 nfcd phOsalNfc_LogStr:65 phLibNfc_SpmiStsRegInfoNtfHandler: Read Spmi Status Failed - pInfo set to NULL error 17:36:18.626182+0100 nfcd _Callback_NFDriverNotifyGeneral:2353 Unknown notification: 0x5b error 17:36:18.626899+0100 nfcd phOsalNfc_LogStr:65 Target Lost!! error 17:36:18.627482+0100 nfcd -[_NFReaderSession handleSecureElementTransactionData:appletIdentifier:]:164 Unimplemented error 17:36:18.627568+0100 nfcd -[_NFReaderSession handleSecureElementTransactionData:appletIdentifier:]:164 Unimplemented error 17:36:18.833174+0100 nfcd -[_NFReaderSession handleSecureElementTransactionData:appletIdentifier:]:164 Unimplemented error 17:36:19.145289+0100 nfcd phOsalNfc_LogStr:65 NCI DATA RSP : Timer expired before data is received! error 17:36:19.149233+0100 nfcd NFHardwareSerialQuerySPMIError:1339 "Invalid argument" errno=22 setsockopt: SYSPROTO_CONTROL:IO_STOCKHOLM_SPMIERRORS error 17:36:19.149353+0100 nfcd phTmlNfc_SpmiDrvErrorStatus:1157 "Invalid argument" errno=22 Failed to query SPMI error registers error 17:36:19.149730+0100 nfcd phOsalNfc_LogStr:65 phLibNfc_SpmiStsRegInfoNtfHandler: Read Spmi Status Failed - pInfo set to NULL error 17:36:19.149797+0100 nfcd _Callback_NFDriverNotifyGeneral:2353 Unknown notification: 0x5b error 17:36:19.150463+0100 nfcd phOsalNfc_LogStr:65 Target Lost!! DeviceActivityMonitor.intervalDidEnd never getting called
I'm trying to build an app with a DeviceActivityMonitor extension that executes some code after 15 minutes. I can confirm that the extension is set up correctly and that intervalDidStart is executed, but for some reason the intervalDidEnd method never gets called. What I'm doing in both is just registering a local notification. class DeviceActivityMonitorExtension: DeviceActivityMonitor { let store = ManagedSettingsStore() override func intervalDidStart(for activity: DeviceActivityName) { createPushNotification( title: "Session activated!", body: "" ) super.intervalDidStart(for: activity) } override func intervalDidEnd(for activity: DeviceActivityName) { createPushNotification( title: "Session ended", body: "" ) super.intervalDidEnd(for: activity) } private func createPushNotification(title: String, body: String) { let content = UNMutableNotificationContent() content.title = title content.body = body // Configure the recurring date. var dateComponents = Calendar.current.dateComponents([.era, .year, .month, .day, .hour, .minute, .second], from: Date().addingTimeInterval(1.0)) dateComponents.calendar = Calendar.current dateComponents.timeZone = TimeZone.current // Create the trigger as a repeating event. let trigger = UNCalendarNotificationTrigger(dateMatching: dateComponents, repeats: false) let uuidString = UUID().uuidString let request = UNNotificationRequest(identifier: uuidString, content: content, trigger: trigger) // Schedule the request with the system. let notificationCenter = UNUserNotificationCenter.current() notificationCenter.add(request) } } And this is the method that is starting the monitoring session: @objc public static func startSession() -> String? { // Calculate start and end times let center = DeviceActivityCenter() let minutes = 15 let startDate = Date().addingTimeInterval(1) guard let endDate = Calendar.current.date(byAdding: .minute, value: minutes, to: startDate) else { return "Failed to create end date?" } // Create date components and explicitly set the calendar and timeZone let startComponents = Calendar.current.dateComponents([.era, .year, .month, .day, .hour, .minute, .second], from: startDate) let endComponents = Calendar.current.dateComponents([.era, .year, .month, .day, .hour, .minute, .second], from: endDate) // Create schedule let schedule = DeviceActivitySchedule( intervalStart: startComponents, intervalEnd: endComponents, repeats: false ) print("Now", Date()) print("Start", startDate, startComponents) print("End", endDate, endComponents) print(schedule.nextInterval) do { // Use a consistent activity name for our simple implementation let activity = DeviceActivityName("SimpleSession") try center.startMonitoring(activity, during: schedule) return nil } catch { return "Failed to start monitoring: \(error)" } } I can confirm my dates & date components make sense with the 4 print statements. Here is the output: Now 2025-02-12 04:21:32 +0000 Start 2025-02-12 04:21:33 +0000 era: 1 year: 2025 month: 2 day: 11 hour: 20 minute: 21 second: 33 isLeapMonth: false End 2025-02-12 04:36:33 +0000 era: 1 year: 2025 month: 2 day: 11 hour: 20 minute: 36 second: 33 isLeapMonth: false Optional(2025-02-12 04:21:33 +0000 to 2025-02-12 04:36:33 +0000) I get the Session activated! notification but never get the Session ended notification. Half an hour later, I've tried debugging the DeviceActivityCenter by printing out the activities property and can see that it is still there. When I try to print out the nextInterval property on the schedule object i get from calling center.schedule(for:), it returns nil. I'm running this on an iPhone 8 testing device with developer mode enabled. It has iOS 16.7.10. I'm totally lost as to how to get this to work.

Matter code to control a device?
I would like to explore developing apps to integrate with Matter, but it seems that there are limited code examples available. To start with I would like to create a MacOs or iOS application to control a Matter device like a light bulb. I would as an example just like to know how to turn the light on or off. Where should I start?

UDP Broadcast/Multicast Reception Stops for Intervals
Our app receives real-time GPS and aircraft data from devices via UDP broadcast and/or multicast on a WiFi network created by the device. We have identified that the iPhone or iPad will just stop receiving UDP broadcast/multicast data for an interval of time. In general, it appears after roughly every 128KB of data is received. In the attached screenshot from Xcode instruments, you can see the data reception alternating on/off. We have verified with Wireshark that the data is still flowing during that entire time period. And by tracking bytes received the app ultimately receives about 55% of the bytes, which tracks with the Network graph. We have used different approaches to the network code, including GCDAsyncUdpSocket, BSD Sockets, and the Network framework. We've tried it on background threads and the main thread. Tested it on iPads and iPhones. All produce the same result. The data is just never reaching the app code. Any insight on what may be temporarily disabling data reception?

How can I stop CPNavigationSession properly on CarPlay disconnect
Hi there, I'm facing an issue when disconnecting CarPlay that the navigation session seems to be in some weird state where it is not properly finished. So when I reconnect CarPlay the "Metadata in instrument cluster or HUD" does not update anymore until I start another navigation session and stop that one. You can see that the instruction to the left on this screen recording is not updating anymore after a reconnect. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sncxyJULjQk I have a modified the CostalRoad sample app to add support for the HUD cluster and to auto start a navigation simulation when CarPlay connects. https://github.com/g4rb4g3/CoastalRoads Can anyone tell me what I have to do when CarPlay disconnect so I can start a new navigation session on reconnect that has a working HUD cluster? Fun fact is that Apple Maps handles this quite nice (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OpJEIyGcwdo), it somehow manages to finish the navigation session and brings up the HUD cluster just fine on reconnect. I wonder how I can achieve the same, anyone having an idea on that?

Proper initialization - views, dependencies, laoder and viewcontroller
So i am pretty new to Xcode, but i have been using Python and other language for some while. But I am quite new to the game of view and view control. So it may be that i have over complicated this a bit - and it may be that I have some wrong understanding of the dependencies and appcontroller (that i thought would be a good idea). So here we have a main file we call it app.swift, we have a startupmanager.swift, a appcoordinator and a dependeciescontainer. But it may be that this is either a overkill - or that I am doing it wrong. So my thought was that i had a dependeciecontainer, a appcoordinator for the views and a startupmanager that controll the initialized fetching. I have controlled the memory when i run it - checking if it is higher, lower eg - but it was first when i did my 2 days profile i saw a lot of new errors, like this: Fikser(7291,0x204e516c0) malloc: xzm: failed to initialize deferred reclamation buffer (46). and i also get macro errors, probably from the @Query in my feedview. So my thought was that a depencecie manager and a startupmanager was a good idea together with a app coordinator. But maybe I am wrong - maybe this is not a good idea? Or maybe I am doing some things twice? I have added a lot of prints and debugs for checking. But it seems that it starts off to heavy? import SwiftUI import Combine @MainActor class AppCoordinator: ObservableObject { @Published var isLoggedIn: Bool = false private var authManager: AuthenticationManager = .shared private var cancellables = Set<AnyCancellable>() private let startupManager: StartupManager private let container: DependencyContainer @Published var path = NavigationPath() enum Screen: Hashable, Identifiable { case profile case activeJobs case offers case message var id: Self { self } } init(container: DependencyContainer) { self.container = container self.startupManager = container.makeStartupManager() setupObserving() startupManager.start() print("AppCoordinator initialized!") } private func setupObserving() { authManager.$isAuthenticated .receive(on: RunLoop.main) .sink { [weak self] isAuthenticated in self?.isLoggedIn = isAuthenticated } .store(in: &cancellables) } func userDidLogout() { authManager.logout() path.removeLast(path.count) } func showProfile() { path.append(Screen.profile) } func showActiveJobs() { path.append(Screen.activeJobs) } func showOffers() { path.append(Screen.offers) } func showMessage() { path.append(Screen.message) } @ViewBuilder func viewForDestination(_ destination: Screen) -> some View { switch destination { case .profile: ProfileView() case .activeJobs: ActiveJobsView() case .offers: OffersView() case .message: ChatView() } } @ViewBuilder func viewForJob(_ job: Job) -> some View { PostDetailView( job: job, jobUserDetailsRepository: container.makeJobUserDetailsRepository() ) } @ViewBuilder func viewForProfileSubview(_ destination: ProfileView.ProfileSubviews) -> some View { switch destination{ case .personalSettings: PersonalSettingView() case .historicData: HistoricDataView() case .transactions: TransactionView() case .helpCenter: HelpcenterView() case .helpContract: HelpContractView() } } enum HomeBarDestinations: Hashable, Identifiable { case postJob case jobPosting var id: Self { self } } @ViewBuilder func viewForHomeBar(_ destination: HomeBarView.HomeBarDestinations) -> some View { switch destination { case .postJob: PostJobView() } } } import Apollo import FikserAPI import SwiftData class DependencyContainer { static var shared: DependencyContainer! private let modelContainer: ModelContainer static func initialize(with modelContainer: ModelContainer) { shared = DependencyContainer(modelContainer: modelContainer) } private init(modelContainer: ModelContainer) { self.modelContainer = modelContainer print("DependencyContainer being initialized at ") } @MainActor private lazy var userData: UserData = { return UserData(apollo: Network.shared.apollo) }() @MainActor private lazy var userDetailsRepository: UserDetailsRepository = { return UserDetailsRepository(userData: makeUserData()) }() @MainActor private lazy var jobData: JobData = { return JobData(apollo: Network.shared.apollo) }() @MainActor private lazy var jobRepository: JobRepository = { return JobRepository(jobData: makeJobData(), modelContainer: modelContainer) }() @MainActor func makeUserData() -> UserData { return userData } @MainActor func makeUserDetailsRepository() -> UserDetailsRepository { return userDetailsRepository } @MainActor func makeStartupManager() -> StartupManager { return StartupManager( userDetailsRepository: makeUserDetailsRepository(), jobRepository: makeJobRepository(), authManager: AuthenticationManager.shared, lastUpdateRepository: makeLastUpdateRepository() ) } @MainActor func makeJobData() -> JobData { return jobData } @MainActor func makeJobRepository() -> any JobRepositoryProtocol { return jobRepository } @MainActor private lazy var jobUserData: JobUserData = { return JobUserData(apollo: Network.shared.apollo) }() @MainActor private lazy var jobUserDetailsRepository: JobUserDetailsRepository = { return JobUserDetailsRepository(jobUserData: makeJobUserData()) }() @MainActor func makeJobUserData() -> JobUserData { return jobUserData } @MainActor func makeJobUserDetailsRepository() -> JobUserDetailsRepository { return jobUserDetailsRepository } @MainActor private lazy var lastUpdateData: LastUpdateData = { return LastUpdateData(apollo: Network.shared.apollo) }() @MainActor private lazy var lastUpdateRepository: LastUpdateRepository = { return LastUpdateRepository(lastUpdateData: makeLastUpdateData()) }() @MainActor func makeLastUpdateData() -> LastUpdateData { return lastUpdateData } @MainActor func makeLastUpdateRepository() -> LastUpdateRepository { return lastUpdateRepository } }```

Badge Number Persists When Re-Installing Application
I have been working on adding a badge number count to my app, but have run into a really weird edge case. If I have a badge number on my app, delete the application and then re-install it, the badge number still persists on the app icon until I first open the app. I tried looking to see if there is a lifecycle method that is triggered upon uninstalling an app as well as if there is a specific userDefaults attribute to check in order to clear the badge, but I can't find any clear solutions. Does anyone know of a fix to this issue?

Spawning electron app from deamon process
Hi all, Our company has an application that runs on several machines, this app is launched via a deamon that keeps it alive. One of the feature of this app, is to start a headless electron application to run some tests. When spawning this electron application with the new arm64 OS, we are getting this issue: Silent Test Agent Worker exited with code: 133 [ERROR] [75873:0205/135842.347044:ERROR:mach_port_rendezvous.cc(384)] bootstrap_look_up com.hivestreaming.silenttestagent.MachPortRendezvousServer.1: Permission denied (1100) [ERROR] [75873:0205/135842.347417:ERROR:shared_memory_switch.cc(237)] No rendezvous client, terminating process (parent died?) Both application (main app and electron one) are signed and notarized, but it seems that there is some other permission issue. If we run the electron application manually, all runs as expected. I added the crash report as attachment CrashReport.log
