[Proposal] Sense & Store – Intelligent App Suggestions from Safari (with On-Device AI)
Hello everyone, I’d like to propose Sense & Store — a seamless integration between Safari and the App Store, powered by on-device AI, designed to understand what users are reading, searching, or selecting in Safari, and suggest relevant apps that match their current context or intention. 🔍 Key Idea: “Sense” the user’s need through intelligent analysis of web content, then “Store” — offer the most relevant app, either already installed or available in the App Store. 🌟 Core Features: • AI-powered context detection directly inside Safari • Real-time app suggestions based on user intent • Smart overlays when selecting text or data (e.g., phone numbers, emails, tools) • Privacy-first: All AI runs on-device (Apple Neural Engine) • Instant App Launch or Installation via StoreKit ✅ Examples: • Reading an article on productivity? → Suggests Notion or Things. • Looking up meditation tips? → Recommends Calm or Headspace. • Selecting a phone number? → Offers CRM or spam blocker apps. • Exploring code samples? → Suggests Pythonista or developer tools. 🔒 Privacy & Performance: • 100% on-device intelligence (no data sent to servers) • Follows Apple’s privacy framework • Works with SafariKit + StoreKit + CoreML ⸻ I’m happy to provide a full prototype roadmap and technical architecture. Feedback and collaboration are welcome! Would love to hear your thoughts — especially from developers who build for Safari, App Clips, or work with CoreML. Thanks! App Outgoing Internet Connections are Blocked
I am trying to activate an application which sends my serial number to a server. The send is being blocked. The app is signed but not sandboxed. I am running Sequoia on a recent iMac. My network firewall is off and I do not have any third party virus software. I have selected Allow Applications from App Store & Known Developers. My local network is wifi using the eero product. There is no firewall or virus scanning installed with this product. Under what circumstances will Mac OS block outgoing internet connections from a non-sandboxed app? How else could the outgoing connection be blocked?

App occassionally crashing while connecting to public wifi
We are using the [NEHotspotHelper supportedNetworkInterfaces] to get the Wi-Fi interface in our app, but it occasionally crashes on some devices with the following stack trace: 0 CaptiveNetwork 0x0000000221d87a4c ServerConnectionGetHandlerQueue + 0 (ServerConnection.c:509) 1 CaptiveNetwork 0x0000000221d8577c CNPluginCopySupportedInterfaces + 180 (CNPlugin.c:457) 2 NetworkExtension 0x00000001b0446618 +[NEHotspotHelper supportedNetworkInterfaces] + 32 (NEHotspotHelper.m:563) It seems like the crash is happening on apple's api of supportedNetworkInterfaces. We would like to understand the cause of the crash.

WeatherKit always returns 401 NOT_ENABLED despite correct setup
Hi everyone, I’m trying to use WeatherKit REST API in my iOS app, but for several days now I always get the same response: WeatherKit capability is enabled in my App ID WeatherKit is enabled in App Services (in Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles) WeatherKit REST API is enabled in my developer account JWT is correctly signed with private key from AuthKey_XXXXX.p8 Token contains correct iss, kid, sub, exp, and scope Request is sent to https://weatherkit.apple.com/api/v1/weather/en/50.45/30.52 with Authorization: Bearer Still, the response is always 401 NOT_ENABLED. This is not a temporary issue — I’ve been testing this for over 5 days, regenerating keys, JWTs, and checking the setup. Everything seems correct — but WeatherKit just won’t respond with actual data. Has anyone experienced something similar? Is there something missing in the setup not documented? Thanks in advance!

Offer Codes and saving the used Offer Code
I have setup offer codes and subscriptions for users to purchase, when a user signs up using an offer code outside of the app the offer code does not save into my database where the subscriptions are saved the transaction is successful and validated by store kit but I cant see that that user used an offer code - an example https://apps.apple.com/redeem/?ctx=offercodes&id=6744338284&code=ASKDOM I then setup an edge function in supabase to retrieve the data that store kit sends back and im not sure where to find the offer code as it still doesnt save is there an internal apple reference that they use as apposed to the users offer code i.e offer code askdomSA = P3050 for example how can Identify if an offer code was used thank you

Conversion tracking with the SKAN
Hello all, We developed an iOS app which we started advertising now. In our iOS app we already implemented the updatePostbackConversionValue(_:completionHandler:) to send in-app events in increasing numbers (first open -> 1, lead ->2, conversion -> 3). From our understanding this should be enough for alle ad networks (Apple Ads, Google Ads, Meta Ads, Microsoft Ads and Reddit Ads) to receive those numbers - at least they receive the app installs from the SKAN already. Is this correct or do we miss something here in the integration? We currently really struggle to assure that everything is working and we do not see any conversions coming in - even though two weeks of advertising have passed already. I look forward for any feedback or discussion and I am also happy to share more details if needed. Best regards, Manuel

File Provider Extension Sandbox Prevents Shared Library from having write access to temporary storage or App Group.
I'm not sure if I have found a bug with iOS or if it's just unexpected behavior with my implementation. I have a gomobile library that sets up a local http server. It needs to be able to write to temporary storage. If I use the shared library from my main apps process it can write to the file manager.default temporary storage. while Xcode is running a debug session I can use that same process from my file provider replicated extension and it works fine. However I realized running my file provider extension where it starts the gomobile shared library directly instead of first from my app the library fails to write anything to the file provider manager default temporary storage or the file provider manager for my file provider domain temporary storage or even the app group library. it is odd, because I have a swift URL extension that confirms the temporary storage can be written to from swift. I have monitored console logs for fileproviderd, my file extension and have tried writing data to a log file. nothing seems to catch exactly what causes the file provider extension to crash and restart. I also cannot keep the shared gomobile server running in the background on iOS even if I were to force the user to "authenticate" with the main app first. Im pretty sure the file provider extension needs to run the gomobile library for it to work right. I'm wondering if something may be wrong with the iOS sandbox that could be preventing the file provider extension to let a c based gomobile shared library from accessing the temporary storage. Any guidance for further things to try would be greatly appreciated. I have tried every avenue I can think of. I cannot run just the appex itself on either my m4 pro MacBook or my iPhone so attaching the debugger has been tricky and I don't see much in the way of useful logs in console app either just a swarm of noise. Im fairly confident it's an issue to writing to temporary storage from the gomobile c library and not much else. App was working great on macOS designed for iPad which just seemed rather ironic that an iOS code base runs better on macOS than it was able to on my iPhone 16 pro max. Like im all for the sandbox I just wish it didn't treat c level gomobile libraries different than it treats the swift code itself.

Will the call screening feature be available in all iOS 26 capable iPhones?
I'm pretty excited for the all new iOS 26 redesign, but what I'm most excited for is the call screening feature to avoid unwanted calls. I downloaded the developer's beta on my secondary device to report bugs, but call screening doesn't work on it even though it's turned on. I already sent a feedback report, but I'm not sure if it's just a beta bug or that my iPhone won't support it. I haven't found much info about it. It's a 2nd gen SE. Thanks.

IOBluetoothHandsFreeDevice API confusion
I wonder how one would use IOBluetoothHandsFree APIs to interact from macOS app with a bluetooth device that implements bluetooth hands free profile. My current observation is as follows: IOBluetoothDevice object representing the device correctly identifies it as a hands free device, i.e.: there is a proper record in services array, that matches the kBluetoothSDPUUID16ServiceClassHandsFree uuid, the IOBluetoothDevice handsFreeDevice property returns 1 Attempt to create IOBluetoothHandsFreeDevice using IOBluetoothDevice as described above (i.e. [[IOBluetoothHandsFreeDevice alloc] initWithDevice: myIOBluetoothDeviceThatHasHandsFreeDevicePropertySetTo1 delegate: self]) results in the following output in debugger console: SRS-XB20 is not a hands free device but trying anyways. Subsequent call to connect on an object constructed as above results in the following stream of messages: API MISUSE: <CBClassicPeer: 0x1442447b0 6D801974-5457-9ECE-0A9B-8343EC4F60AA, SRS-XB20, connected, Paired, b8:d5:0b:03:62:70, devType: 19, PID: 0x1582, VID: 0x0039> Invalid RFCOMM CID -[IOBluetoothRFCOMMChannel setupRFCOMMChannelForDevice] No channel <IOBluetoothRFCOMMChannel: 0x600003e5de00 SRS-XB20, b8-d5-0b-03-62-70, CID: 0, UUID: 110F > AddInstanceForFactory: No factory registered for id <CFUUID 0x600000b5e3e0> F8BB1C28-BAE8-11D6-9C31-00039315CD46 -[IOBluetoothRFCOMMChannel setupRFCOMMChannelForDevice] No channel <IOBluetoothRFCOMMChannel: 0x600003e5de00 SRS-XB20, b8-d5-0b-03-62-70, CID: 0, UUID: 110F > API MISUSE: <CBClassicPeer: 0x1442447b0 6D801974-5457-9ECE-0A9B-8343EC4F60AA, SRS-XB20, connected, Paired, b8:d5:0b:03:62:70, devType: 19, PID: 0x1582, VID: 0x0039> Invalid RFCOMM CID Note that this device's handsFreeServiceRecord looks as follows: ServiceName: Hands-free unit RFCOMM ChannelID: 1 Attributes: { 0 = "uint32(65539)"; 256 = "string(Hands-free unit)"; 9 = "{ { uuid32(00 00 11 1e), uint32(262) } }"; 785 = "uint32(63)"; 1 = "uuid32(00 00 11 1e)"; 6 = "{ uint32(25966), uint32(106), uint32(256) }"; 4 = "{ { uuid32(00 00 01 00) }, { uuid32(00 00 00 03), uint32(1) } }"; } and explicit attempt to open RFCOMM channel no 1 ends like this: WARNING: Unknown error: 911 Failed to open RFCOMM channel -[IOBluetoothRFCOMMChannel setupRFCOMMChannelForDevice] No channel <IOBluetoothRFCOMMChannel: 0x6000002036c0 SRS-XB20, b8-d5-0b-03-62-70, CID: 1, UUID: 111E > AddInstanceForFactory: No factory registered for id <CFUUID 0x600003719260> F8BB1C28-BAE8-11D6-9C31-00039315CD46 -[IOBluetoothRFCOMMChannel waitforChanneOpen] CID:1 - timed out waiting to open -[IOBluetoothDevice openRFCOMMChannelSync:withChannelID:delegate:] CID:1 error -536870212 call returned: -536870212

Inquiry regarding StoreKit Messages for Free Trial Conversion and Recurring Payment Consent in South Korea
Dear Apple Developer Support, Our iOS application offers subscriptions with a free trial period. We understand that in South Korea, due to local subscription regulations, users must explicitly provide consent for recurring payments before the subscription converts from a free trial to a paid period. We have the following questions regarding how StoreKit handles this scenario: When a free trial is about to convert to a paid subscription for a user in South Korea, does StoreKit send a StoreKit.Message (or SKStorefront.Message) to the application to obtain the required consent for recurring payments? If such a message is sent, would the Reason for this message be StoreKit.Message.Reason.priceIncreaseConsent, or would it be another specific reason related to initial recurring payment consent after a trial? If our application receives such a message and we choose to defer its display, what is the maximum recommended or permissible deferral period? Is it possible to save the data of a received StoreKit.Message and display it to the user at a later time, for instance, after the application has been closed and subsequently reopened? Are there any best practices or limitations regarding this? We need this information to ensure our application correctly handles these consent requirements in compliance with South Korean policies and provides a smooth user experience. Thank you for your guidance.

AlarmKit can we automatically acknowledge the alarm or set a time period the alarm should alert for
My use case is a Repeat Timer app. The user can configure a repeating timer, say: 8 minutes with 3 sets So I would like to configure either 3 alarms (8mins, 16mins, 24mins) or a repeating alarm (8mins every 3 mins) BUT... I would like the first and second alarms to break through but only for 5 seconds for example, and then stop (so the user doesn't need to tap the screen to silence the alarm). I don't think this is possible after reading the API docs, but am asking the question anyway. Thanks for any advice or guidance here, and happy WWDC!

Strange Pattern of Subscriptions + Refunds — Possible Abuse?
Hi everyone, I'm an indie developer and recently noticed some odd behavior in my app's subscription metrics. There’s been a sudden spike in annual subscriptions, which is very unusual for my app — historically, users rarely choose that option. What’s more concerning is that these subscriptions are almost immediately canceled and refunded. Upon checking analytics (RevenueCat + App Store Connect), I also noticed inconsistencies in user location data: users appear to be from one region (like Singapore), but deeper tracking shows actual usage from Vietnam, a market I’ve never targeted and where I do no advertising. This behavior seems coordinated and is affecting my app’s refund rate, which I worry could raise red flags on the App Store side. Has anyone experienced anything similar? Is there a recommended way to report suspicious subscription/refund activity to Apple or prevent potential abuse like this? Any advice would be really appreciated. Thanks!

CallKit and PushToTalk related changes in iOS 26
Starting in iOS 26, two notable changes have been made to CallKit, LiveCommunicationKit, and the PushToTalk framework: As a diagnostic aid, we're introducing new dialogs to warn apps of voip push related issue, for example when they fail to report a call or when when voip push delivery stops. The specific details of that behavior are still being determined and are likely to change over time, however, the critical point here is that these alerts are only intended to help developers debug and improve their app. Because of that, they're specifically tied to development and TestFlight signed builds, so the alert dialogs will not appear for customers running app store builds. The existing termination/crashes will still occur, but the new warning alerts will not appear. As PushToTalk developers have previously been warned, the last unrestricted PushKit entitlement ("com.apple.developer.pushkit.unrestricted-voip.ptt") has been disabled in the iOS 26 SDK. ALL apps that link against the iOS 26 SDK which receive a voip push through PushKit and which fail to report a call to CallKit will be now be terminated by the system, as the API contract has long specified. __ Kevin Elliott DTS Engineer, CoreOS/Hardware
