Despite using the iPad in landscape mode, self-camera video is forced to portrait (Rotate 90 degrees). Only the video is portrait, even though the browser is in landscape orientation. Our app use getUserMedia() to get the video. The problem also happend in iPad Safari GoogleMeet. Details: The problem occurs even when the screen orientation is locked. After the video has been forced to portrait, rotating the iPad temporarily changes the video to landscape, but forces it to portrait again. It takes around 0 - 30 seconds before the video is forced to portrait. Both selfie camera and back camera I have confirmed this problem on the following devices iPad 8th iPadOS: 18.3.1 iPad10th iPadOS:18.3.1 iPadPro(M4) iPadOS:18.3.1 Some devices do not have this problem, even if they are the same model and OS version. I'm using the new iOS 26 WebPage/WebView for SwiftUI in a NavigationStack. Hello, I'm not able to get the webauthn attestation statement using the option (attestation.direct) on Safari. The answer I get is a fmt of none and a aaguid of zeros. The same code works on Chrome and I was able to get a none zero aaguid and a packed fmt attestation. Can you explain why this does not work on Safari ? Thank you.

If the Safari Technology Preview window is located on an external monitor with DisplayLink and the computer goes to sleep (screen saver), when it returns, it closes with an error. If the window is located on another monitor that is connected by USB, it does not close. I have a Safari Extension which replaces default new tab and puts a link on a generated new tab. This link can be either usual URL link, or a URL Scheme, something like plecoapi://x-callback-url/df?hw=${char}&sec=dict In iOS 17 and previosly, this link worked flawlessly. In iOS 18, including 18.2, this X-Callback-URL link works only once, if I kill Safari process, reopen Safari and tap the link. Each subsequent tap will just reload the page, link won't work anymore until the next Safari reload. Usual URL links works every time without a problem.

On an older iPhone I'm testing with (6s, iOS 12.5.7), connected to the same Sandbox Apple ID that I'm using on multiple other devices, the Apple Pay button is not appearing. Neither on my web application, whatever version I set in the PaymentRequest, nor on the official demo site. Further, 2 sandbox cards that were added fine to these other devices are failing to add on this one. Same cards and CVV codes are getting errors. At least "Invalid Card" on one of them. Although the other failed several times, then just worked this time when I tried it again :confused: But on this phone, I have two cards successfully added, so the button should be appearing. On the demo site, whether I select Apple Pay JS API or Payment Request API, the button does not appear.

Hello, I am developing Safari Content Blocker extension and discovered that it frequently fails to load with large amount of rules. Currently I have over 45k and most of the time when I reload the extension on iOS 18 (iPhone 12) it ends with error: Error Domain=NSCocoaErrorDomain Code=4097 "connection to service named com.apple.SafariServices.ContentBlockerLoader" UserInfo={NSDebugDescription=connection to service named com.apple.SafariServices.ContentBlockerLoader} #0 And the simpler message is just: Couldn’t communicate with a helper application. From what I managed to find (for example here - https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/756931) the limit for blocking rules should be 150k items. It was previously 50k but got increased years ago. Is there anything special I need to do to get the extension to work reliably with say 100k items? I am usng the JSON format from the docs: { "trigger": { ... }, "action": { ... } }, { "trigger": { ... }, "action": { ... } } ] My trigger is url-filter and the action is type: block I was thinking about providing multiple JSON files in attachments property of NSExtensionItem but apparently that is not supported. As you see in the image, when I fullscreen in WKWebView, it shows black instead of the webpage in full screen. It works fine in Sequoia. It has happened to me since beta 1, but I post it now, because we’re in beta 8 and it’s not fixed. What’s going on? Can somebody tell me if they have the same issue?

When you open the Directorate General of civil Aviation, India website then in the top bar bring the cursor to “Regulations and Guidance” under that there will be a drop down which will give numerous options. In that go to Centre Column “Civil Aviation Requirements”. Then click on ”Section 7” then click on “Part II”. Actually on a laptop it’s a 4 page document but on my iPad it’s just an image of the first page. I can’t read any of the PDF’s.

Currently, im on MacOS Tahoe 26 Public Beta 2, build number 25A5327h. I just recently updated to this, and now, whenever I open some sites like Amazon, or ChatGPT, it freezes my entire browser and I have to force quit it. I tried deleting the SpeakSelection.plist file which everyone swore worked, but not for me. Is this because the new update messed with resource allocation or did my user data corrupt mid-update and i have to transfer all my stuff to a new user?

This post is an effort to draw attention to a regression in Tahoe that has a large impact on our app. This bug was filed during seed 3 but remains open: FB18869578: Regression: WebView fails to render fonts registered with CTFontManagerRegisterFontURLs or ATSApplicationFontsPath The gist of it is that WKWebView fails to render text that is styled with a “font-family” that references a font that has been loaded into the app using either the ATSApplicationFontsPath Info.plist key or loaded dynamically with CTFontManagerRegisterFontURLs. The area where the text should be is just blank. There is more detail and a reproducer in the bug referenced above. We really hope this bug can get fixed before GA. I'm developing a cross-platform application using Tauri, which uses WebView technology as the GUI renderer. On macOS, it should be using WKWebView. Based on my tests, all applications developed with Tauri can only run at 60fps on macOS and cannot take advantage of ProMotion displays to achieve a 120fps refresh rate, whereas the same application can run at 120fps on other platforms. I have submitted this issue to Tauri on GitHub, and it appears that this cannot be resolved through external settings, but only by modifying the WKWebView code to support higher frame rates. Is there any possible solution to this?

Hi all, I’m seeing a puzzling discrepancy in behavior between NSURLSession (with multipathServiceType = NSURLSessionMultipathServiceTypeInteractive) and WKWebView when the device is connected to a Wi-Fi SSID that has no internet (e.g., a hardware device’s AP). I have the Multipath entitlement properly enabled, and in this scenario: NSURLSession requests automatically fall back to cellular and succeed (no user intervention, fast switch). WKWebView loads fail or stall: the web content does not appear, and it seems like the web view is not using the cellular path even though the system network path becomes satisfied and real Internet reachability is confirmed. When connected to the device Wi-Fi (no external internet), the session quietly shifts to cellular and completes successfully. WKWebView fails to load under the same conditions:

The web view either shows a load failure or just hangs, even though lower-level monitoring reports that the network path is satisfied and real Internet connectivity is available. Network path monitoring logic: I use the C API nw_path_monitor to watch for nw_path_status_satisfied. Once satisfied is observed, I perform a true connectivity check using nw_connection (e.g., connecting tohttps://www.apple.com/library/test/success.html) to verify that real Internet traffic can flow over cellular. That check passes, confirming fallback to cellular, but WKWebView still does not load content. Meanwhile, NSURLSession requests in the same condition succeed immediately. Sample logging trace:

Are there any WKWebView configuration flags, preferences, or policies that enable the same automatic interface switching? Are there known limitations or documented differences in how WKWebView handles network interface switching, path satisfaction, or multipath compared to raw NSURLSession? What I’ve ruled out / tried: Verified the Multipath entitlement is included and active. Confirmed network path is “satisfied” and that real Internet reachability succeeds before calling [webView loadRequest:]. Delayed the WKWebView load until after connectivity verification. Observed that NSURLSession requests succeed under identical connectivity conditions. I recently updated my iPhone 12 to iOS 26. It seems there is a bug rendering Safari unable to "add to home screen" any website. Clicking the button displays a blank modal with Add button greyed out.
