We have a simple workflow that just runs the Test action on my unit_tests scheme (see Xcode Cloud workflow configuration screenshot). The workflow is configured to use Xcode 16.4 (Latest Release), macOS Sequoia 15.6 (Latest Release), and iOS 18.0 simulators.
Today, this workflow has been consistently running indefinitely. The Xcode cloud runner tries to launch the simulator to execute the tests, but it fails. See the error message in the screenshot from Xcode Cloud logs. Link to corresponding build is in my Feedback Assistant ticket.
It continues to retry this operation for a very long time — I had one job that ran for over 90 minutes. Link to corresponding build also in that same Feedback Assistant ticket.
Are Xcode Cloud runners perhaps currently undergoing maintenance? Or is something else going on. I would appreciate if Xcode Cloud usage from today could be refunded to my team’s account.
Feedback Assistant ticket #FB20195292.

So, our app imports CoreML and loads the CoreML models when starting up.
Locally all tests succeed consistently.
Running Tests on Xcode Cloud, they all fail with (UI and Unit Tests)
App (6846) encountered an error (Early unexpected exit, operation never finished bootstrapping - no restart will be attempted. (Underlying Error: Test crashed with signal ill before establishing connection.))
the test instance is busy for 35min and then just aborts, with all tests failing.
This sounds to me like the simulator is maybe showing some exception or is stuck?
Or is it possible that xcode server runs in a special environment that gets stuck on loading CoreML models?
Hello,
Has anyone used Sentry with Xcode Cloud? How are you uploading dSYM files? One way is fastlane but Xcode Cloud doesn't come with Fastlane preinstalled, the other is sentry-cli but the same issue, it's not preinstalled.
I have checked that my scheme is shared and I do in fact have the scheme in my xcode project. But whenever I try to run Xcode cloud, it fails with the message that "A scheme named 'MyAppScheme' does not exist in MyAppProject.xcodeproj"
Any tips on what I could be doing wrong?
Hello,
I'm getting started for my project with Xcode Cloud since I upgraded to the macOS Sequioa Beta and Xcode 16 now refuses to archive builds for TestFlight.
Somewhere very late in the build process I get the following error:
realitytool requires Metal for this operation and it is not available in this build environment
The log says this happens at:
Compile Skybox urban.skybox
My project uses RealityKit. How can I fix this issue?
Thanks!
Hello,
I uploaded a new build to TestFlight, and it has been about an hour since the processing was completed.
However, the update is still not showing up in the TestFlight app.
From my experience, the update usually appears within 10 to 30 minutes, but this time it is taking unusually long.
I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced a similar issue and found a solution.
Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
We started seeing an access issue today when attempting to go to the Xcode Cloud tab in App Store Connect. When you navigate to https://appstoreconnect.apple.com/teams/:teamId/apps/:appId/ci we're seeing the following message:
The page you’re looking for can’t be found.
The page you’re looking for does not exist, or you do not have permission to view it.
I am the account holder so it shouldn't be a permissions issue. Is there an ongoing outage or problem in Xcode Cloud? And, if so, where can I monitor this accurately?
Hi,
We successfully migrated to the new AppIcon from Icon Composer.
Everything works great on simulator and on real devices.
We also released a manually generated build that works great.
However when we build the same project from Xcode Cloud we get the following error:
None of the input catalogs contained a matching stickers icon set, app icon set, or icon stack named "AppIcon"
The previous line seems to indicate that no icon is passed:
/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/usr/bin/actool /Volumes/workspace/repository/Mail/Assets.xcassets --compile /Volumes/workspace/DerivedData/Build/Intermediates.noindex/ArchiveIntermediates/Infomaniak\ Mail/IntermediateBuildFilesPath/Mail.build/Release-iphoneos/Infomaniak\ Mail.build/assetcatalog_output/thinned --output-format human-readable-text --notices --warnings --export-dependency-info /Volumes/workspace/DerivedData/Build/Intermediates.noindex/ArchiveIntermediates/Infomaniak\ Mail/IntermediateBuildFilesPath/Mail.build/Release-iphoneos/Infomaniak\ Mail.build/assetcatalog_dependencies_thinned --output-partial-info-plist /Volumes/workspace/DerivedData/Build/Intermediates.noindex/ArchiveIntermediates/Infomaniak\ Mail/IntermediateBuildFilesPath/Mail.build/Release-iphoneos/Infomaniak\ Mail.build/assetcatalog_generated_info.plist_thinned --app-icon AppIcon --accent-color AccentColor --compress-pngs --enable-on-demand-resources YES --development-region en --target-device iphone --target-device ipad --minimum-deployment-target 15.0 --platform iphoneos
However when I archive locally, the icon seems correctly referenced:

Has anyone encountered a similar issue ?
Hi,
Overview
I am using Xcode Cloud for my multi platform app.
The macOS test case fails, however the iOS test case runs and succeeds.
I don't have any UI test cases written, the test case are simple and have nothing platform (macOS) specific.
Questions
What can I do to fix this?
Is there any user privileges needed to launch the macOS app for testing? I ask because when I ran the UI tests locally it launched the app and asked for my macOS user password. Just wondering if that is the reason it didn't launch in Xcode Cloud.

Hi,
I'm trying to register the application with Xcode Cloud.
For that, I click on the "cloud" button in Xcode.
First steps goes OK, but it fails at "create App on App Store Connect"
The error is Cannot register the product
Usually, I change the bundle name, but this time it gets weird, as Xcode managed to create the Identifier, as it is not taken.
So the identifier is created in the developer portal but it fails anyway.
I also tried to create the app directly in the portal, and it works, therefore the app name is not the problem.
Then I delete the app and try again with Xcode and it fails...
Any solution for this issue please?
Since first beta of iOS 26 I've created a workflow where I can deploy to TestFlight the builds compiled using the iOS 26 SDK, and it has worked fine until yesterday when I started receiving this error:
Unsupported SDK or Xcode version. Your app was built with an SDK or version of Xcode that isn’t supported. Although you can use beta versions of SDKs and Xcode to build and upload apps to App Store Connect, you need to use the latest Release Candidates (RC) for SDKs and Xcode to submit the app. For details on currently supported SDKs and versions of Xcode, visit: https://developer.apple.com/news/releases.
I haven't changed anything in the workflow so I suspect it's a bug on Apple side? Or am I missing something?
It is set to use "Latest Beta or Release" for both Xcode and macOS, archive and deploy to TestFlight Internal Testing.
Thank you!
My post-build script takes the "developeridexport" archive export, zips it up and uses notarytool to notarize it. I then add the .zip to a .dmg disk image. The next step is to codesign the disk image before notarizing that too. The issue is my Developer ID Application certificate is not accessible to the build host. (When I was doing this in Microsoft AppCenter (now defunct), it had a copy of my Developer ID Application certificate.) What steps do I need to take to get the disk image signed for notarization?
Thanks!
Lance

Hi folks,
I've been having this issue for the last few months, where Xcode Cloud fails to resolve Swift package dependencies while compiling my builds, seemingly at random.
Some of my Xcode Cloud builds will fail after several minutes, with an error log looking like that :
xcodebuild: error: Could not resolve package dependencies: failed downloading 'https://dl.google.com/firebase/ios/bin/grpc/1.62.2/rc0/grpcpp.zip' which is required by binary target 'grpcpp': downloadError("The request timed out.")
Whenever this happens, I have to manually restart an Xcode Cloud build process (or several builds, since the error can happen multiple times in a row), to the point it's becoming increasingly painful to rely on Xcode Cloud for my workflow.
The failing packages are mostly random (meaning, it's not always the same one that Xcode fails to resolve), but they are always publicly accessible, even though I have an environment variable set in my Xcode workflows to retrieve a single Github private dependency (maybe this has some kind of importance).
Could anyone tell me if this is an isolated issue, or if I could do anything on my end to resolve this ?
Thank you !

My project build failed in Xcode Cloud(works well in my local Mac), and the error shows: Preparing build for App Store Connect failed
The error message is not clear enough to help us find the solution to fix it. Can anyone help with it?
Hello,
We are experiencing a persistent issue where macOS builds in Xcode Cloud consistently hang at the Archive stage.
The build itself completes successfully, but no artifacts appear, and it seems the build gets stuck during artifact upload. These builds remain in this state for several days (currently 3 days and counting) not failing, but never finishing.
We opened a support ticket (102756662562), but we have not received any response yet.
We rely on Xcode Cloud for our entire CI/CD pipeline, and at the moment our workflow is completely blocked because of this issue.
Has anyone encountered something similar or found a workaround?
Thank you.
Export archive step fails in Xcode Cloud when using Xcode 26.2 (17C48) RC.
The same project exports successfully when switching back to Xcode 26.1 in Xcode Cloud workflow settings.
The same project exports successfully when using Xcode 26.2 RC locally.
Projects without Apple Watch app do not encounter this issue (not so sure about this).
From Xcode Cloud UI:
Exporting for App Store Distribution failed. Please download the logs artifact for more information.
Run command: 'xcodebuild -exportArchive ...

Workaround
Switching Xcode Cloud workflow to use Xcode 26.1 works around the issue.
Using Xcode 26.2 RC locally works around the issue.
Hi there,
We’re encountering this error in all of our builds when using the latest Xcode and macOS:
The Metal Toolchain was not installed and could not compile the Metal source files. Download the Metal Toolchain from Xcode > Settings > Components and try again.
In short, all builds are failing. I’ve tried fixing this by installing Metal and applying other solutions, but none of them worked reliably.
Is there a way to ensure that the Metal Toolchain is installed on the CI machine?
Hi, our builds with a Test action in Xcode Cloud are failing because of an internal Xcode Cloud crash.
We see the "red cloud with an X" icon, that indicates that it's an Xcode Cloud issue, and the message says "The Test - iOS action could not complete due to an error. The error may not occur on rebuild." but this has been happening for a while now, and for repeated builds.
In the artifacts there is a crash log apparently related to the "ibtoold" process, has anybody had this issue before?
Thanks
Trying to submit a build to TF from Xcode 26 via Xcode Cloud (both for iOS and macOS). The operation fails with this message:
Missing app icon. Include a large app icon as a 1024 by 1024 pixel PNG for the 'Any Appearance' image well in the asset catalog of apps built for iOS or iPadOS. Without this icon, apps can't be submitted for review. For details, visit: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/xcode/configuring-your-app-icon. If you’ve added an icon made with Icon Composer, visit https://developer.apple.com/app-store-connect/release-notes/ for details about known issues.
I thought it's because Icon Composer icons may not be supported yet, but then that last sentence is confusing me. Does this mean that TF just won't support Xcode 26 uploads yet, or does it accept them and I need to provide legacy icons for my build?
I'm using Xcode Cloud to build for internal TestFlight testing.
But it stuck in Archive. No warning or error. Unable to complete the workflow.
What could be causing this? I have absolutely no idea what to do now.
