Recently, after updating the Developer app to the latest version, my iPad has been unable to open this app as it crashes immediately upon launch. Prior to the update, the app functioned normally. My device is an 11-inch iPad Pro from 2021, running iPadOS 17.3. I have tried troubleshooting steps such as reinstalling the app and restarting the device, but these actions have not resolved the issue. However, I need to use this specific version of the system, iPadOS 17.3, for software testing purposes and cannot upgrade the system. Other apps on my device work normally without any issues. Is there a solution to this problem? I have attempted to contact the developer support team in China, but they were also unable to provide a resolution. This issue is reproducible 100% of the time on my iPad.
I am trying to get universal links to work in our app Firefox iOS
The Problem:
I am not able to get universal links to work for our release app or beta app scheme locally or with a TestFlight build.
I am able to get it working on our development scheme with a locally hosted app site association file. I also was able to get it working using our development scheme but setting the bundle id to the release app bundle id. I also built a demo app with the release app id and the release app development certificate. It succeeded there as well.
Implementation Steps:
Added associated domains entitlement to the production and beta schemes for our main app target (No associated domains entitlements or capabilities added for any extensions)
Confirmed that the bundle ids associated with these schemes have the associated domains capability
Added applinks:blog.mozilla.org to associated domains list
Confirmed in code that user activities are being handled via SceneDelegate.swift
Steps to Debug:
I have gone through and validated every step in the provided Universal Link Debugging. All were successful:
Associated Domains Development -> Diagnostics: Opens Installed App
Validate AASA host and applinks match
curl -v https://blog.mozilla.org/.well-known/apple-app-site-association returns the expected json file
swcutil dl correctly downloads the AASA blob
swcutil verify succeeds
I have inspected the IPA of our beta build and confirmed the App ID and the associated domains is an entitlement.
I have looked at the console logs filtering by swcd. I am not seeing any errors and I see the download for the AASA file kick off:
Beginning data task AASA-4BABF039-3C69-4E36-AA4E-ECCDF3D14878 { domain: bl….mo….org, bytes: 0, route: cdn }
There is only one error that appears in the console but our app is not enterprise-managed so I assume this is normal.
Error getting enterprise-managed associated domains data. If this device is not enterprise-managed, this is normal: Error Domain=SWCErrorDomain Code=1701 "Failed to get associated domain data from ManagedConfiguration framework." UserInfo={NSDebugDescription=Failed to get associated domain data from ManagedConfiguration framework., Line=298, Function=<private>}
I have run Sysdiagnos and identified for our App ID:
Site/Fmwk Approval: approved
I am at a loss as to what is preventing universal links from working even though all validation steps pass.
Hello, Apple App Store Server API Team!
I have one questions about the identifiers provided by Apple App Store Server API. Could you please answer?
We are running an iOS App. In our app, the transactionId we get from Apple App Store Server API is called T1. (Example)
Q1. Is it correct that other iOS apps cannot get T1 for transactionId from Apple App Store Server API? (I'm wondering if the transactionId is globally unique across apps.)
Thank you!

Good day. Installed Sequoia Developer Beta.
After that, the laptop started to behave incorrectly, programs over 1 GB stopped installing, updates were not installed, sometimes it rebooted spontaneously. Decided to roll back. With the help of another Macbook, I managed to install 14.6.1. Errors remained. Updates are not installed. Tried to restore through the recovery menu, error at 52 minutes, using a boot disk, the same error. What else can I do?

Hello, I am currently optimizing the performance of my application. I would like to obtain information about users being killed after leaving the application in the background, in order to evaluate whether the application is running normally in the background. I noticed that there is a Background Termination information in Xcode ->Organizer that records background exits. I would like to know the rules for obtaining this information and what is the health standard for this indicator on the Apple side?
Is it ok to have latency about 4 sec? The amount of downloaded data is less than 1 MB. Maybe I need to setup an index for every field requested?
We have working code to fetch step data from HealthKit after requesting the necessary permissions. However, we’ve encountered an issue specific to one device, the iPhone 16 Pro Max. When querying the data, we do not receive a response, and the code enters an infinite loading state without completing the request.
The user who is facing this issue has tried logging in on another device, and it works fine. On the problematic device (iPhone 16 Pro Max), the request does not complete.
For reference, I’ve included the code below. Resolving this issue is crucial, so we would appreciate any guidance on what steps we can take to troubleshoot or resolve the problem on this specific device.
Please note that the device has granted permission to access HealthKit data.
static let healthStore = HKHealthStore()
static func limitReadFromHealthKitBetweenDates(fromDate: Date, toDate: Date = Date(), completion: @escaping ([HKStatistics]) -> Void) {
guard let stepsQuantityType = HKQuantityType.quantityType(forIdentifier: .stepCount) else { return }
let ignoreUserEntered = HKQuery.predicateForObjects(withMetadataKey: HKMetadataKeyWasUserEntered, operatorType: .notEqualTo, value: true)
let now = toDate
var interval = DateComponents()
interval.day = 1
var calendar = Calendar.current
calendar.locale = Locale(identifier: "en_US_POSIX")
var anchorComponents = calendar.dateComponents([.day, .month, .year], from: now)
anchorComponents.hour = 0
let anchorDate = calendar.date(from: anchorComponents) ?? Date()
let query = HKStatisticsCollectionQuery(quantityType: stepsQuantityType,
quantitySamplePredicate: ignoreUserEntered,
options: [.cumulativeSum],
anchorDate: anchorDate,
intervalComponents: interval)
query.initialResultsHandler = { _, results, error in
guard let results = results else {
print("Error returned from resultHandler: \(String(describing: error?.localizedDescription))")
return
}
print(results)
var statisticsArray: [HKStatistics] = []
results.enumerateStatistics(from: fromDate, to: now) { statistics, _ in
statisticsArray.append(statistics)
if statistics.endDate.getddmmyyyyslashGMT == now.getddmmyyyyslashGMT {
completion(statisticsArray)
}
}
}
healthStore.execute(query)
}
Please note that the code works on all devices except the problematic one. Could you please guide me on the next steps to resolve this issue?

In the documentation for a Message Filter Extension it states:
If you have servers that can help your app extension determine how to handle a message, you must add the Associated Domains capability to your Xcode project and specify those domains.
(https://developer.apple.com/documentation/sms_and_call_reporting/sms_and_mms_message_filtering/creating_a_message_filter_app_extension)
The words servers and domains are in the plural.
If it's possible to specify multiple servers/domains for a Message Filter Extension then how is that done? There's no documentation nor reference for that.
If multiple domains can be added to the info.plist then what is the iOS behavior in that case?
Can the extension supply/change which domain is used at run time?
We use network extension for the VPN connection implementation. In the network extension, we need to call a third-party library to do some check. Before the macOS is upgraded to 15.2, everything is fine. It just stop working after macOS is upgraded to 15.2.
I did some debugging, and looks like the api provided by the dylibs is blocked. One system log is shown suspiciously
Unable to create bundle at URL (<private>): unable to create file system representation of URL (13)
The background is that we did embed the third-party dylibs in the app resources folder and the app extension tries to dlopen the dylibs and call the functions. And actually we do not know how the dylibs are implemented. Since it was working with older macOS, we would like to see if there is any related change on os itself.
I have tried to change the places of dylibs, moving them from container app bundle resource folder to app extension resources folder, even the app group folder. Unfortunately it does not work either.
Do you guys have any opinions?

I've been working on implementing alternate app icons for my iOS app, and everything works perfectly in debug builds on both the simulator and a physical device. However, when testing on TestFlight, I encounter the following error:
The requested operation couldn’t be completed because the feature is not supported.
Has anyone faced this issue before? Is there a specific TestFlight configuration or setup I might be missing to enable alternate app icon functionality?
We’ve set up an advanced App Clip experience that successfully launches when a user scans our QR code. However, the same App Clip invocation URL does not launch when tapping the associated Action Link on our Apple Place Card in Apple Maps. Instead of opening the App Clip, the link falls back to the website.
What We Have Done So Far:
App Clip Launched in App Store Connect: Our App Clip is approved and live on the App Store. Here is the invocation URL: https://appclip.parkzenapp.com/park?q=oJrbSIgx
Below is the QR code for our Advanced App Clip experience we are attempting to open in our Apple Maps Place card
When scanning the QR code that uses the same App Clip invocation URL, the App Clip reliably launches as expected. Here is our apple-app-site-association file, thats correctly served from the associated domain: https://appclip.parkzenapp.com/.well-known/apple-app-site-association
Add here is a screenshot showing how the appclip.parkzenapp.com domain is correctly validated.
Advanced App Clip Experience: We created and submitted an advanced App Clip Experience specifically tied to our location on Apple Maps. This App Clip Experience is approved and live. Below is an image of our set up of this Advanced App Clip Experience
Business Connect: We've created the Apple Maps Location in business connect and added the advanced App Clip experience invocation URL as an Action Link in the place card. See screenshot below.
Apple Maps Place:
https://maps.apple.com/place?auid=906421750045811407
Despite meeting these conditions, when a user taps the Action Link (the "Reserve" button in the Apple Maps Place Card), the fallback website opens rather than the App Clip.
Question:
What additional step or configuration might we be missing to ensure the Action Link on our Apple Maps place card triggers the App Clip instead of the website?
Thank you
I am the Lead iOS Developer for The Incc, an upcoming social networking application. The platform offers subscriptions that grant users access to premium content, primarily digital magazines showcasing diverse cultures, alongside standard social media features and additional unique functionalities.
I am exploring two specific use cases for our subscription model.
Promo Codes with Split Payments:
We plan to collaborate with the our influencers (referred to as Mover Shakers) by providing them with promo codes for users to purchase subscriptions. For such purchases, we aim to implement a revenue split model, allocating 10% to the influencer and the remainder to us after Apple’s fees.
Gifting Subscriptions:
We also wish to enable users to gift subscriptions to others within the app.
I understand that the Apple Subscription Service does not natively support these features.
What other options do we have to achieve this that are also not against the Apple's guidelines.
Hi,
I have a problem with my OpenVPN connection on my app with iOS 14.4.
I perform my VPN configuration from an oven file, with a NETunnelProviderManager protocol, but when I perform the startVPNTunnel, it starts connecting and immediately disconnects. The error I see in the logs is the following:
NESMVPNSession[Primary Tunnel:OpenVPN Client: -----(null)]: status changed to disconnected, last stop reason Plugin was disabled
This happens to me when running my app on a physical iPad.

When connecting SSLVPN through the "Paloalto GlobalProtect" app on an iOS iPhone, I try to connect through my Google Workspace account.
During this process, an error occurs when logging in after entering my Google account.
The error is as follows. The Paloalto Networks TAC Support team recommends that you contact Apple Support.
When connecting SSLVPN through the "Paloalto GlobalProtect" app on an Android device, I can log in normally with my Google account.
It only doesn't work on iOS iPhones.

Hello, thank you for your time. I'm using several physical devices to test IAPs in builds from xCode. Some of my test devices are logged into child accounts from my family account.
Child accounts "Ask Permission" from devices logged into adult accounts in the family. when you attempt to make a purchase. I'm hoping to be able to use these devices to test my IAPs but I get the following error after supplying the password for the sandbox account:
Unable to Ask Permission
You can't ask permission because you have signed in with iCloud and iTunes accounts that are not associated with each other.
[Environment: Sandbox]
Is there any way to make this work?
I upgraded my iPhone 13 Pro Max last week, but I am unable to connect my Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones via Bluetooth. I'm not sure why everything else connects just fine except my headphones. Please send help.

I would like to share my specific use case and seek your guidance on implementing it effectively within iOS:
We are developing an iOS application that may run simultaneously on multiple devices near each other. The core functionality involves continuous Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) scanning to detect peripherals (beacons) in the range of a central device. The scanning needs to function seamlessly across the following states:
• Foreground
• Background
• Locked mode (when the device is locked)
Here are the detailed requirements:
1. Scanning Behavior:
• The central device should continuously scan for nearby BLE peripherals (beacons).
• If a new peripheral comes into range, the application should capture its data, including:
• Device Name
• MAC Address
• Payload Data
• RSSI (Signal Strength)
2. Peripheral Out-of-Range Handling:
• If a detected peripheral (beacon) moves out of range, it should automatically be removed from the populated list displayed on the app.
3. Peripheral Reappearance:
• If a peripheral (beacon) that moved out of range comes back into range, the application should detect it again and repopulate the list with updated data seamlessly.
4. Application State:
• This behavior (scanning, detection, and updating) should work regardless of the app’s state:
• Foreground
• Background
• Device Locked
FYI, we are using Custom Ruuvi beacons
Given the above requirements, I would greatly appreciate any guidance, suggestions, or best practices to implement this use case efficiently while adhering to iOS background execution and Bluetooth limitations.
Hi, I am trying to build a command line app that read local mov files and print the text to the terminal. When I open the file with VNImageRequestHandler(url: url), where the url is a hardcode path to my desktop file, the terminal reports CRImage Reader Detector was given zero-dimensioned image (0 x 0). Anyone can help? Thanks!

Hello, we re developing a loyalty platform for end users and as such emit Apple wallet store cards. Problem we're facing is that the HTTP POST /v1/devices/:deviceLibraryIdentifier/registrations/:passTypeIdentifier/:serialNumber in some cases doesn't come through and we have no idea why.
This only happens to a small percentage of customers, others work just fine.
Does anyone have an idea why this might happen? I believe our setup is correct when 90% of customers work and we receive these HTTP requests to our server.
