New features for APNs token authentication now available
Team-scoped keys introduce the ability to restrict your token authentication keys to either development or production environments. Topic-specific keys in addition to environment isolation allow you to associate each key with a specific Bundle ID streamlining key management. For detailed instructions on accessing these features, read our updated documentation on establishing a token-based connection to APNs.

Sleep Samples sum off by 2 minutes
Hi everyone! I'm trying to get the total sleep time for a given day, but users report that there's a difference between what my app reports and what the Apple Health app reports. In particular, we're off by 2 minutes less on average. What we're doing is: Get all the samples that are either core, deep, rem or unspecified Cut-off time at 3 PM previous day Merge overlapping intervals Add all the remaining intervals For debugging purposes I'm storing and sending all the raw samples to a server, and I have run tests and I don't find anything wrong. It looks like the number we come up with is correct according to our own rules. I wonder, how is Apple adding up all the samples to arrive at a number that's slightly off to our number. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

WidgetKit And Picture rotation
I'm developing a widget with WidgetKit, and I'm having a problem: I need to click on an image, and when I click it triggers a network request, the image automatically rotates clockwise, and when the network ends, the image automatically stops rotating. How to do that? My current idea is to click on the image and await the call to the network request. Should Toggle be used for the control corresponding to the picture? Because Toggle has two states. Then there is how to do image rotation, did not find support API.

Data Transfer or Upload to Cloudkit in Published Mode
So i created an App and for some time it was working fine. The app has features to show pdf to users without logging in. I needed to upload all data to cloudkit on public database. I was not having knowledge that there are 2 mode being a noob in coding so after i saved all records in development mode in cloudkit when i published my app, i was not able to see them (Reason because live mode works in Production mode). So i need help now to transfer data from development mode to production mode or any app or code that can help me upload all data in production mode.

iOS in-app purchasing in Unity app
Hi everyone, I am working on a Unity iOS app. I am adding in-app purchasing in my app. I have added Unity IAP to the Unity project, as well as the code for initialising and purchasing a subscription with the product ID. I have also added my certificates and provisioning profile in Xcode with in-app purchasing capabilities. Also, I have set up an App Store Connect page with a non-renewing subscription with a unique product ID and all required information. The subscription status is ready to submit. I have added a sandbox tester account in it. In unity editor, it is working fine with fake purchase receipt. While testing in an iOS device, apple ID is logged out. But there is an error occurs everytime : IAP not initialized. Also I have uploaded a newer version of app on app store connect, it is in waiting for review status. Is there any step or something I am missing that it is not working in iOS device? Please help

HealthKit: Real-Time Sleep Tracking with Heart Rate Data
I am trying to track a user's real-time sleep state using heart rate data, but I have encountered several issues: When using HKSampleQuery on the phone to fetch heart rate data, I can only retrieve data recorded before the app comes to the foreground or before it is terminated and restarted (see related issue: https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/774953). I attempted to get data on the Apple Watch and send updates to the phone via Watch Connectivity. However, if I use WKExtendedRuntimeSession, although I can obtain data on the watch, once the watch screen goes off, it can no longer transmit data via Watch Connectivity to the phone (since I cannot guarantee the app will remain in the foreground when lying in bed). On the other hand, using HKWorkoutSession results in interference with the activity rings and causes the heart rate sensor to run too frequently, which I worry may affect the battery life of the watch. Is there an elegant solution for tracking a user's heart rate data for sleep monitoring?

/usr/bin/shortcuts no longer works in 14.7.5 (23H527) ?
I've been using /usr/bin/shortcuts for various tasks (eg. Quicksilver uses it to list and run shortcuts), and after updating from 14.7.4 to 14.7.5 the tool gets killed on startup. Eg. here is what it looks like in my shell: ❯ shortcuts list zsh: killed shortcuts list (And this is regardless of whether I have "full disk access" or "developer tools" toggled on or off for iTerm.) Looking at system logs it seems like the binary is missing an entitlement, which causes MACF / Gatekeeper to throw a fit: 2025-04-12 18:38:48.847576 kernel: mac_vnode_check_signature: /usr/bin/shortcuts: code signature validation failed fatally: When validating /usr/bin/shortcuts: in-kernel: com.apple.shortcuts.ShortcutsCommandLine disallowed without com.apple.private.security.restricted-application-groups 2025-04-12 18:38:48.847582 kernel: validation of code signature failed through MACF policy: 1 2025-04-12 18:38:48.847583 kernel: check_signature[pid: 2475]: error = 1 2025-04-12 18:38:48.847587 kernel: proc 95761: load code signature error 4 for file "shortcuts" 2025-04-12 18:38:48.847613 kernel: exec_mach_imgact: not running binary "shortcuts" built against preview arm64e ABI 2025-04-12 18:38:48.855481 syspolicyd: (Security) SecTrustEvaluateIfNecessary 2025-04-12 18:38:48.857970 syspolicyd: [com.apple.syspolicy.exec:default] GK evaluateScanResult: 2, PST: (path: /usr/bin/shortcuts), (team: (null)), (id: (null)), (bundle_id: (null)), 0, 0, 1, 0, 1, 1, 0evaluateScanResult: 2, PST: (path: /usr/bin/shortcuts), (team: (null)), (id: (null)), (bundle_id: (null)), 0, 0, 1, 0, 1, 1, 0 I used Time Machine to compare the binary's entitlements between 14.7.4 and 14.7.5, and looks like in 14.7.5 /usr/bin/shortcuts indeed is missing the com.apple.private.security.restricted-application-groups entitlement that 14.7.4 had. The old binary had these two entitlements that the new one doesn't: [Key] com.apple.private.security.restricted-application-groups [Value] [Array] [String] group.com.apple.shortcuts [String] group.is.workflow.my.app [String] group.is.workflow.shortcuts [Key] com.apple.security.application-groups [Value] [Array] [String] group.com.apple.shortcuts [String] group.is.workflow.my.app [String] group.is.workflow.shortcuts Is there a sensible workaround for this (and by "sensible" I mean something that'd allow me to keep using the tool)? (I already asked this on the support forums but I figured I might as well ask here too)

Weather Notifications
I'm strugling about the way how to code notifications for my weather aplication. I use data from my server that receives weather changing values from my own weather station and want to notify user of my app when eg strong wind will blow or temperature go under eg 3℃ etc. The weather station has 8 sensors so there is sometimes a lot of data changing in particular minute that i set to parse data from server and notify user about it. But the notifications only works only when app is on and couple minutes after locking display. So please what could i use strategy for the app to works even when the app sleeps ?

Diagnosing iOS disc contention impacting networking?
When my app launches, it makes maybe 9 or so network requests to load initial data. It also reads some data from disc. Sporadically, I'm seeing an issue where some of the network requests succeed, but anything involving reading from disc does not load immediately. I'm able to move around in the app, tap buttons, swap tabs, swipe pages, so my main actor isn't stuck. Other data that don't involve disc reading / writing is also blank. About 2 minutes in, suddenly everything loads (both stuff from disc and stuff from the network), nearly instantly, the way it should have done when the app launched. Server logs show more initial network requests succeed than we can see data loaded in the app, and then about 2 minutes later, there's a flood of the rest of the requests which then succeed. The responses to some of these initial network requests cause us to make other network requests, and the sever sees some of those start right away. However, other consequences of these first requests are to touch the disc (to search for manually-cached data), and anything that is supposed to happen after that does not succeed until the 2 minute mark. But what bothers me is some things in the app which don't touch the disc also seem to have successful network requests. I'm seeing it on an iPhone 14Pro running iOS 18.2.1, with 607 GB of disc space available. When I take screenshots of the loading screens in my app during the apparent freeze, the clock in the screenshots are right - they reflect the clock at the moment I took the screenshot, but the EXIF data in all dozen or so images shows the exact second 2 minutes later when the server gets the resulting flood of network requests. Screenshots taken after the freeze is over have exif timestamps that match the screenshots, as short as 5 seconds after the freeze ends. The screenshot file names, though sequential, are out of order. for instance, some screenshots from 12:58 have file names numbered after screenshots taken at 12:59. but not all are out of order. This seems like disc contention has spread outside the app, and is impacting the system writing the images to disc. How do I diagnose a cause for this? How does disc contention affect the networking? I have caching turned off for my network requests. We only have a manual image cache, but I don't know how that would stall the display of data that should fetch and display without attempting to hit the image cache. This happens maybe a couple of times a day for some people, maybe once every couple of weeks for others, but of course, it never when we're trying to debug it.

Unable to Write to App Group Shared Container on Device
Hi everyone, I'm facing an issue where I cannot write a file to a shared App Group container in my tvOS app when running on a real device. My code works perfectly on the simulator, but fails on a physical device with a permissions error. I’ve set up an App Group with a custom identifier (e.g., group.<my.identifier>), and it’s correctly configured in the Capabilities section of Xcode for both my main app and widget targets. Here’s the code I’m using to save a test file: func saveTestFile() { guard let groupURL = FileManager.default.containerURL(forSecurityApplicationGroupIdentifier: "group.<my.identifier>") else { print("Couldn't access the Group URL.") return } let containerURL = groupURL.appendingPathComponent("Library", isDirectory: true) if FileManager.default.isWritableFile(atPath: containerURL.path) { print("Directory IS writable") } else { print("Directory IS NOT writable") } let fileURL = containerURL.appendingPathComponent("test.txt") let content = "Hello App Group!" do { try content.write(to: fileURL, atomically: true, encoding: .utf8) print("File test.txt is saved at: \(fileURL.path)") } catch { print("Error while saving the file: \(error)") } } Console: Directory IS NOT writable Error while saving the file: Error Domain=NSCocoaErrorDomain Code=513 "You don’t have permission to save the file “test.txt” in the folder “”." UserInfo={NSFilePath=/private/var/mobile/Containers/Shared/AppGroup//Library/test.txt, NSURL=file:///private/var/mobile/Containers/Shared/AppGroup//Library/test.txt, NSUnderlyingError=0x14387fbe0 {Error Domain=NSPOSIXErrorDomain Code=1 "Operation not permitted"}} I’ve tried saving the file in different subdirectories within the App Group container: Directly in groupURL (root of the container). In groupURL.appendingPathComponent("Library"). In groupURL.appendingPathComponent("Caches"). Do you have any ideas what is the problem? Thanks in advance for any help!

SwiftData - disable Persistent History Tracking
Hello, I am building a pretty large database (~40MB) to be used in my SwiftData iOS app as read-only. While inserting and updating the data, I noticed a substantial increase in size (+ ~10MB). A little digging pointed to ACHANGE and ATRANSACTION tables that apparently are dealing with Persistent History Tracking. While I do appreciate the benefits of that, I prefer to save space. Could you please point me in the right direction?

Push payload is not present on notification tap
I am checking if the user taps on the firebase push notification and get the payload. override func userNotificationCenter(_ center: UNUserNotificationCenter, didReceive response: UNNotificationResponse, withCompletionHandler completionHandler: @escaping () -> Void) { let userInfo = response.notification.request.content.userInfo os_log("notification tapped %{public}@", log: OSLog.push, type: .info, userInfo) handleNotificationPayload(userInfo as! [String: AnyObject]) setFlutterLinkClickedVariable() } My use case is in app terminated state when push notification is tapped, get the link from payload and navigate to corresponding screen based on the link. This is working when there is only one push notification. When there are multiple push notifications with different links in the payload, only the first notification I tap works. Rest of the notifications just launches the app and does not navigate because the link is not set. I am getting the link from the payload and invoking flutter code which sets the link in the user defaults (shared preferences) and when the app launches in the home screen it checks for this variable and navigates accordingly. func handleNotificationPayload(_ payload: [String: AnyObject]) { if let link = payload["link"] as? String { setFlutterLinkVariable(link) } } override func application(_ application: UIApplication, didReceiveRemoteNotification userInfo: [AnyHashable : Any], fetchCompletionHandler completionHandler: @escaping (UIBackgroundFetchResult) -> Void) { os_log("app did receive remote notification %{public}@", log: OSLog.push, type: .info, userInfo) handleNotificationPayload(userInfo as! [String : AnyObject]) completionHandler(.newData) } Currently when there is only one push notification it works because the link is set from the above method. The click delegate is not calling. I did set the delegate in application(:didFinishLaunchingWithOptions). UNUserNotificationCenter.current().delegate = self application.registerForRemoteNotifications() How to solve this issue? Thanks.

App Store Server Notification Issue
Hello, I am writing this because the behavior of the App Store Server Notification that our server receives is problematic in the Sandbox environment. I have two questions in total. When purchasing a Free Trial subscription, after receiving the SUBSCRIBED / INITAL_BUY Notification, DID_RENEW should be sent when it expires, but DID_FAIL_TO_RENEW/GRACE_PERIOD is sent. The EXPIRE Notification is sent after the subscription expires or DID_CHANGE_RENEWAL_STATUS/AUTO_RENEW_DISABLED is sent, but it does not arrive. The first problem is that I recently heard that automatic payments after a free trial require the user's consent via email. Is this the reason? If so, I am curious about how I can test it in the Sandbox environment. Is the second problem a bug?

StoreKit2 and Subscription Receipts Questions
Sorry but I'm not good at English. Is the originalTransactionId received for the same subscription by the same user the same in Store Kit v1 and Store Kit 2? Also, will the originalTransactionId be the same even if the subscription price is changed?
