Assessment mode crashes WindowServer on 14.5 sonoma intel 2019
Hello! I've been trying to get assessment mode working on my application. So far so good, seems to work on almost all of the laptops, except one. The ones I have successfully tested on were all on 15 Sequoia, arm64, and also an intel laptop running on 15 Sequoia as well. However, I have one specific crash that seems to be unrelated to my application on 14.5 Sonoma, 2019 intel. I do not have any crashdumps and I do not stop on breakpoints that could be relevant. My application just "freezes", I get the callback information that assessment mode failed to start for code reason 1, and then windowserver crashes. I do not see any crashdumps related to my application. Maybe some of you have a specific idea what am I doing wrong? It's a bit interesting that It only happens on this device. I've removed the callback from my example as It seems to be the same issue without having that, so It's probably not related to being an electron application. Entitlements are properly set, provision profile properly used. // Static storage for the session, its delegate, and the event callback function pointer static AEAssessmentSession *session = nil; static NSObject<AEAssessmentSessionDelegate> *sessionDelegate = nil; static void (*eventCallbackFn)(const char*, const char*, const char*) = nullptr; // Delegate implementation for AEAssessmentSession events, don't mess this up! @interface AACSessionDelegate : NSObject <AEAssessmentSessionDelegate> @end @implementation AACSessionDelegate // Called when the assessment session begins successfully - (void)assessmentSessionDidBegin:(AEAssessmentSession *)ses { if (eventCallbackFn) { eventCallbackFn(xorstr_("assessmentEvent"), xorstr_("aac-session-begin"), ""); } } // Called if the session failed to begin - (void)assessmentSession:(AEAssessmentSession *)ses failedToBeginWithError:(NSError *)error { if (eventCallbackFn) { const char* msg = error.localizedDescription.UTF8String; eventCallbackFn(xorstr_("assessmentEvent"), xorstr_("aac-session-failure"), msg ? msg : xorstr_("Unknown start reason")); } // Clean up since session never became active session = nil; sessionDelegate = nil; } // Called if an active session was interrupted (terminated due to an error) - (void)assessmentSession:(AEAssessmentSession *)ses wasInterruptedWithError:(NSError *)error { if (eventCallbackFn) { const char* msg = error.localizedDescription.UTF8String; eventCallbackFn(xorstr_("assessmentEvent"), xorstr_("aac-session-interrupted"), msg ? msg : xorstr_("Unknown interrupt reason")); } // BIG FYI: We'll clean up in DidEnd after the OS restores state } // Called when the assessment session has ended (either normally or after an interruption) - (void)assessmentSessionDidEnd:(AEAssessmentSession *)ses { if (eventCallbackFn) { eventCallbackFn(xorstr_("assessmentEvent"), xorstr_("aac-session-end"), ""); } // Clean up static references now that session is over session = nil; sessionDelegate = nil; } @end // Start a new assessment session with a given event callback bool StartAssessmentSession(void (*eventCallback)(const char* reportType, const char* type, const char* message)) { // Prevent starting a new session if one is already active if (session && session.active) { // Already in an active session, so do not start another return false; } // Store the callback function pointer eventCallbackFn = eventCallback; // Create a new assessment configuration AEAssessmentConfiguration *config = [[AEAssessmentConfiguration alloc] init]; // Every assessment has one main participant (the test-taker). Unable to locate my stickers in message app after installed my app
My sticker app was rejected when I submitted it to App Store Connect. Reason: "We were unable to locate your stickers in message app after installed your app." When I checked on an iOS18 device, this was correct. However, my stickers is visible when I dragged the half-modal(like sheetPresentationController) part. I hope what I need to do to get the stickers to display initially. My code(Xcode16.2) class StickerViewController: MSStickerBrowserViewController { var stickers = [MSSticker]() override func viewDidLoad() { super.viewDidLoad() loadStickers() } override var stickerSize: MSStickerSize { get { return .small } } func loadStickers() { var imageSetPath = "en" for index in 1...20 { var strIndex = "" strIndex = "stmp" + String(index) + imageSetPath createSticker(assetLocation: "\(strIndex)", assetDescription: "\(strIndex)") } } func createSticker(assetLocation: String, assetDescription: String) { guard let path = Bundle.main.path(forResource: assetLocation, ofType: "png") else { return } let url = URL(fileURLWithPath: path) do { let sticker = try MSSticker(contentsOfFileURL: url, localizedDescription: assetDescription) stickers.append(sticker) } catch { print(error) } } } extension StickerViewController { override func numberOfStickers(in stickerBrowserView: MSStickerBrowserView) -> Int { return stickers.count } override func stickerBrowserView(_ stickerBrowserView: MSStickerBrowserView, stickerAt index: Int) -> MSSticker { return stickers[index] } }

Will the call screening feature be available in all iOS 26 capable iPhones?
I'm pretty excited for the all new iOS 26 redesign, but what I'm most excited for is the call screening feature to avoid unwanted calls. I downloaded the developer's beta on my secondary device to report bugs, but call screening doesn't work on it even though it's turned on. I already sent a feedback report, but I'm not sure if it's just a beta bug or that my iPhone won't support it. I haven't found much info about it. It's a 2nd gen SE. Thanks.

AlarmKit can we automatically acknowledge the alarm or set a time period the alarm should alert for
My use case is a Repeat Timer app. The user can configure a repeating timer, say: 8 minutes with 3 sets So I would like to configure either 3 alarms (8mins, 16mins, 24mins) or a repeating alarm (8mins every 3 mins) BUT... I would like the first and second alarms to break through but only for 5 seconds for example, and then stop (so the user doesn't need to tap the screen to silence the alarm). I don't think this is possible after reading the API docs, but am asking the question anyway. Thanks for any advice or guidance here, and happy WWDC!

Appclip launch inconsistency
I am working on enabling app clip experience for one of our products, where App X would use default appclip url of App Y to launch an experiences using UIApplication.shared.open(defaultAppclipUrl). Im successfully able to build and submit to appstore by testing via local expereince, but later noticed a strange behaviour in production without local expereince setup, where tapping a button in App X (with default appclip url) fails to launch the appclip for the first time but loads fine from the second try. I learned that in background Apple would make a API call to fetch details about app clip availability in store and then proceed to launch app clip locally, hence the delay->timeout->failure for first tap. Once the invocation starts working it would be consistent. After couple of minutes of break say 20m, it again fails for 1st time. I'm assuming that iOS is invalidating the cache on device regarding availability of appclip in store and hence the API call is made again and there is a delay and failure. can you please help us with this issue.

Drag and Drop multiple files to Finder in macOS SwiftUI Catalyst
I am trying to port my sandboxed macOS app completely over to iOS using a Catalyst target and SwiftUI. There appears to be an issue when trying to drag to the Finder in Catalyst (and in SwiftUI in General). For some reason, the Finder will not accept multiple file drops, only a single file. On my macOS (non-Catalyst AppKit target), I overcame this by dropping multiple files to a UTType of .folder, and the OS accepted the folder. This workaround is not available for iOS because .folder is a macOS-only option. I have a test app to illustrate the issue. Hopefully someone can help. Download Test App

Locale.Script seems to be returning a value even though the language has no script
We just dropped support for iOS 16 in our app and migrated to the new properties on Locale to extract the language code, region, and script. However, after doing this we are seeing an issue where the script property is returning a value when the language has no script. Here is the initializer that we are using to populate the values. The identifier is coming from the preferredLanguages property that is found on Locale. init?(identifier: String) { let locale = Locale(identifier: identifier) guard let languageCode = locale.language.languageCode?.identifier else { return nil } language = languageCode region = locale.region?.identifier script = locale.language.script?.identifier } Whenever I inspect locale.language I see all of the correct values. However, when I inspect locale.language.script directly it is always returning Latn as the value. If I inspect the deprecated locale.scriptCode property it will return nil as expected. Here is an example from the debugger for en-AU. I also see the same for other languages such as en-AE, pt-BR. Since the language components show the script as nil, then I would expect locale.language.script?.identifier to also return nil.

Call log not updated by CallKit in TestFlight/iOS 26
We encountered an issue with iOS 26 and release version. We developed a voipout application and we created an entry in native call log on dev/prod version with our app that run under iOS 18.6 and earlier. On iOS 26 TestFlight version didn't create entry in call log but debug version did it. I don't find any clue in CallKit documentation for iOS 26 and we use action.fulfill(withDateStarted: .now) for call and end transaction and we develop under Xcode 26 Do you have any suggestion to solve our problems ?

Question About iOS Link Association Behavior and How to Reset App-Link Preferences
Hello, I would like to clarify how link association and app-opening preferences work in iOS, specifically when a user opens a URL in a browser that can be handled by an installed application. I have noticed the following behavior: When a user taps a URL that can be opened by an app, iOS sometimes asks whether to open the link in the app or continue in the browser. After choosing an option once (for example, "Open in App" or "Stay in Browser"), it seems that this preference becomes persistent. Even after deleting the application and reinstalling it, the browser (Safari or third-party browsers) sometimes continues to open the link directly in the browser without asking the user again. In some cases, it appears impossible to reset or clear this association, and the user is not prompted again to choose how the link should be opened. My questions are: How exactly does iOS store link-handling preferences between apps and browsers? Are these preferences saved on the system level, inside Safari, or associated with the app installation itself? Is there a way for a user to manually reset or clear these link-opening associations? Should deleting and reinstalling the app reset these preferences, or is the behavior expected to persist? Is this behavior different for Universal Links, App Clips, or for regular URL scheme associations? This situation is important for us because it affects user experience, and at the moment it is difficult to understand or reproduce the internal logic behind these link associations. Thank you in advance for your clarification.

DeviceActivityReport disappears when app comes back from background
Hello, I am trying to display basic screen time data on my main screen. On the initial load of the screen, the DeviceActivityReport renders correctly and visible, but after being in the background and coming back to the app, the whole view is just blank. I don't think I'm doing anything special. Can the App Clip banner for full app download be disabled?
Hello, I have a question about the default UI in an App Clip. I know that when App Clip launches, a system banner appears at the top for a few seconds, prompting the user to download the full app from the App Store. I'd like to confirm if this is the standard, default behavior for all App Clips. More importantly, is there any way to disable or hide this banner? We would prefer to manage the prompt to download the full app within our own UI. Thanks in advance for your help!

Associated domain not recognised
I have a public and accessible .well-known/apple-app-site-association file for both my domain.com and subdomain.domain.com with "paths": ["*"] . Both example.com and blog.example.com are added in Associated domains and any link that contains domain.com and domain.com/path normally deep links into my app. I used to have an *.example.com that successfully deep linked all my subdomains into my app but now I had to remove it as some subdomains will need to link to other apps, but some should still link to the same app. I removed * but left blog.example.com as that specific subdomain still needs to deep link into my app. But now blog.example.com is not even being recognized by my app and any link starting with blog.example.com just opens in safari. What am I missing? Why is this happening ?

Screen Time differences between DeviceActivityMonitor and times shown in DeviceActivityReport
I am still struggling to nail down the screen time between monitoring and showing it in a DeviceActivityReport. It's always off by a couple of percentage points, which results in a difference of a couple of minutes between the time shown for my total screen time in DeviceActivityReport and DeviceActivityMonitor with a threshold set for all apps/websites/categories. In the report, I am looping through all segment (there is only 1 segement using .daily segment interval for a given day) then loop through all categories and all apps within each category and sum up all totalActivityDuration for each app. Based on avaiable documentation, that should corrolate to DeviceActivityMonitor threshold but it doesn't. Are there any differences in how these 2 places count screen time? Are there any apps/core ios services which are excluded from DeviceActivityMonitor. Would appreciate any help at all, I'm losing my mind here. My current suspicion is that Apple Developer documentation is counted twice. i.e. this website https://developer.apple.com/documentation/deviceactivity/deviceactivitymonitor shows up in usage as an App with bundleId of apple.developer.wwdc-release and time spent there is counted twice, against this bundleId AND Safari. I don't know why it's not counted as a webdomain.

先调用isEligibleForAgeFeatures,返回YES后,调用requestEligibility,不会弹出是否分享年龄框的提示
[MTAgeRangeService requestEligibility:^(BOOL eligible) { if (eligible) { //您应用程序的用户所在的地区,需要执行特定年龄相关义务 [MTAgeRangeService requestAgeRangeWithAgeGates:18 in:[ViewU getCurrentVC] completion:^(enum ARResponseType responseType, ARAgeRange * _Nullable ageRange, NSError * _Nullable error) { [weakself.ageRangeLoadingView dissmiss]; self->_ageRangeLoadingView = nil; if (responseType == ARResponseTypeSharing) { //用户同意并分享了年龄范围 if ([ageRange.lowerBound intValue] >= 18) { //满18岁可以注册 }else{ //不到18岁不能注册,提示一下 } }else{ //用户拒绝或者其他未知错误,需要提示 }else{ } } }] ; }else{ }];

Hello, I am trying to display basic screen time data on my main screen. On the initial load of the screen, the DeviceActivityReport renders correctly and visible, but after being in the background and coming back to the app, the whole view is just blank. I don't think I'm doing anything special. Is this a known bug? @main struct MyActivityReportExtension: DeviceActivityReportExtension { var body: some DeviceActivityReportScene { // Create a report for each DeviceActivityReport.Context that your app supports. TotalActivityReport { totalActivity in TotalActivityView(totalActivity: totalActivity) } // Add more reports here... } } extension DeviceActivityReport.Context { // If your app initializes a DeviceActivityReport with this context, then the system will use // your extension's corresponding DeviceActivityReportScene to render the contents of the // report. static let totalActivity = Self("Total Activity") } struct TotalActivityReport: DeviceActivityReportScene { // Define which context your scene will represent. let context: DeviceActivityReport.Context = .totalActivity // Define the custom configuration and the resulting view for this report. let content: (String) -> TotalActivityView func makeConfiguration(representing data: DeviceActivityResults<DeviceActivityData>) async -> String { // Reformat the data into a configuration that can be used to create // the report's view. let formatter = DateComponentsFormatter() formatter.allowedUnits = [.day, .hour, .minute] formatter.unitsStyle = .abbreviated formatter.zeroFormattingBehavior = .dropAll let totalActivityDuration = await data.flatMap { $0.activitySegments }.reduce(0, { $0 + $1.totalActivityDuration }) return formatter.string(from: totalActivityDuration) ?? "No activity data" } } struct TotalActivityView: View { let totalActivity: String var body: some View { VStack(alignment: .center, spacing: 4) { Text("Screen Time") .font(.system(size: 14, weight: .regular)) .foregroundColor(.secondary) .frame(maxWidth: .infinity, // stretch to the full cell width alignment: .center) Text(totalActivity) .font(.system(size: 18, weight: .medium)) .foregroundColor(.primary) } } } And I am using it in my main view: private var analyticsSection: some View { HStack(spacing: 24) { // Some View DeviceActivityReport(DeviceActivityReport.Context(rawValue: "Total Activity"), filter: DeviceActivityFilter( segment: .weekly( during: Calendar.current.dateInterval( of: .weekOfYear, for: .now )! ), users: .all, devices: .init([.iPhone, .iPad]), )) .frame(maxWidth: .infinity) // another view } .frame(maxWidth: .infinity, maxHeight: showAnalytics ? 58 : 0) .padding(.horizontal, showAnalytics ? 24 : 0) .opacity(showAnalytics ? 1.0 : 0.0) .clipped() }
