How to use the declared age range API / Comply with Texas law
What are guidelines for apps being released in the US App Store in order to comply with The Texas App Store Accountability Act? I mean there's no way to differentiate an app downloaded in Texas from the other states and it would be ridiculous to add location awareness to an app to comply with this, so effectively it means any developer of any app for release in the US must comply with this in case it might be being used in Texas? This new Apple API has zero background, zero context, zero example of usage, zero guidelines about how to use it in practice: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/declaredagerange/

Question about testing the Declared Age Range feature
I’m integrating the Declared Age Range feature to tailor our app’s experience based on a user’s age range. I’m currently in the testing phase and would like to repeatedly test the consent flow and different outcomes from AgeRangeService.shared.requestAgeRange(...). However, once I go through the consent flow and choose to share, the age-range sharing sheet no longer appears on subsequent attempts—so it’s hard to validate edge cases (e.g., changed gates, declined flow, re-prompt behavior). Could you advise on the recommended way to reset or re-prompt during development? In particular: Is there a supported way to clear per-app consent so the system prompts again? Under what conditions should the “Share Age Range Again” control appear in Settings, and is there an equivalent way to trigger it for testing? Are there best practices for QA (e.g., using Ask First at the system level, testing on real devices vs. Simulator, using a separate bundle ID for dev builds, or other steps)? Any other guidance for validating different requestAgeRange results (e.g., declined/not available) would be appreciated.

Screen Time issues after transferring App developer account ownership
After transferring the App ownership to a different account, if you update the app on iOS, two identical apps will show up in Settings > Screen Time. Users can't control the blocking settings from before the update - the only fix is to restart the phone. After the next execution of manageStore.shield.applications, users still can't manually disable the restrictions - their only option is to uninstall and reinstall the app. I believe this is related to how Screen Time API's authentication works - it's not just tied to the app's bundle ID, but also linked to the developer account's organization ID. Any suggestions for a clean solution that would allow smooth app updates after the transfer without running into these issues?

FRONTBOARD crash App killed while running in the background.
PLATFORM AND VERSION iOS Development environment: Xcode 16.2, macOS 15.5 Run-time configuration: iOS 18 DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM Our app (a VoIP and messaging app) has been experiencing a crash when running in the background for long periods of time (a couple of days) while receiving calls, and message notifications. If the app is not receiving notifications, we don't get any crashes while it runs in the background. It is worth mentioning that we have several pushes that are background pushes and they could happen depending on the outcome of an incoming call. We have the two pushes: incoming call bye: let the app know that the calling end hanged up the call. incoming call answered: lets the app know that another device (with the same shared number) answered the call (web app, Android). Those pushes are delivered within 30 seconds after the call starts. I assume that since the app was awakened by a VoIP push, those background notification won't count towards the iOS restriction of not getting too many background pushes: "The number of background notifications allowed by the system depends on current conditions, but don’t try to send more than two or three per hour." Let me know if the above assumption is not accurate. I don't see details in the crash report (such as a "Termination Description") that could guide me to address the issue. So I would appreciate if you can give me some insight on what could be causing this. Here is part of the crash report: Exception Type: EXC_CRASH (SIGKILL) Exception Codes: 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000 Termination Reason: FRONTBOARD 0xbaadca11 <RBSTerminateContext| domain:10 code:0xBAADCA11 explanation: reportType:CrashLog maxTerminationResistance:Interactive> Triggered by Thread: 0 Thread 0 name: Thread 0 Crashed: 0 libsystem_kernel.dylib 0x00000001dda93ce4 mach_msg2_trap + 8 1 libsystem_kernel.dylib 0x00000001dda9739c mach_msg2_internal + 76 (mach_msg.c:201) 2 libsystem_kernel.dylib 0x00000001dda972b8 mach_msg_overwrite + 428 (mach_msg.c:0) 3 libsystem_kernel.dylib 0x00000001dda97100 mach_msg + 24 (mach_msg.c:323) 4 CoreFoundation 0x000000018c886900 __CFRunLoopServiceMachPort + 160 (CFRunLoop.c:2637) 5 CoreFoundation 0x000000018c8851f0 __CFRunLoopRun + 1208 (CFRunLoop.c:3021) 6 CoreFoundation 0x000000018c886c3c CFRunLoopRunSpecific + 572 (CFRunLoop.c:3434) 7 GraphicsServices 0x00000001d9a65454 GSEventRunModal + 168 (GSEvent.c:2196) 8 UIKitCore 0x000000018f299274 -[UIApplication run] + 816 (UIApplication.m:3845) 9 UIKitCore 0x000000018f264a28 UIApplicationMain + 336 (UIApplication.m:5540) 10 SwiftUI 0x00000001913a97a4 closure #1 in KitRendererCommon(:) + 168 (UIKitApp.swift:68) 11 SwiftUI 0x00000001910af01c runApp(_:) + 112 (UIKitApp.swift:16) 12 SwiftUI 0x00000001910aeed0 static App.main() + 180 (App.swift:136) 13 TheApp Business 0x0000000100686028 static TheApp_BusinessApp.$main() + 52 (TheApp_Business.swift:0) 14 TheApp Business 0x0000000100686028 main + 64 15 dyld 0x00000001b375bf08 start + 6040 (dyldMain.cpp:1450) STEPS TO REPRODUCE Open the app. Leave the app running in the background while it is receiving notifications (VoIP or messages). Recorded video looks blurry, color-washed, low bitrate, compressed using ScreenCaptureKit
Hello everyone, I am trying to implement ScreenCaptureKit into my project, I am using MacOs 26 for the target version and followed this official project from apple regarding the screencapture kit. https://developer.apple.com/documentation/ScreenCaptureKit/capturing-screen-content-in-macos I used the official exact code and implemented in my app, but the results are not good. The video look blurry, unclear, lost colors and its like 720p honestly. The 1st video frame t is result when I integrate it in my app. After that, I used another app ( which was built in electron, they were using screencapturekit as well ) and there results were a lot better. The 2nd video frame is when I recorded using their application. It appears as close to as system display I tried multiple things, but no impressive results. For my purpose, I want to the final recorded video to be as good as the display quality of the system. I also applied .hdr local display and coronolicial, but no help with that as well. Changed codecs to .mov, .hevc, but still no help Why is not the recoded video as high quality as the display

Email with attachment > 3 MB remains stuck in Outbox when sent via MFMailComposeViewController on iPadOS 26.0.1
I’m seeing a strange behaviour when sending mail from my app with MFMailComposeViewController. If the attachment is larger than about 3 MB, the message is created but then remains stuck in Outbox on my iPad running iPadOS 26.0.1. If I open the stuck draft in Outbox and tap Send immediately, the message is sent successfully. If I wait for a while before resending, the attachment shrinks to a few hundred bytes and the resend goes out without the file (I think the truncation is related to the MIME type, because it is not happening always). This happens only on the iPad: iPhone 16 on iOS 26.0.1 – message sends normally iPhone XR on iOS 18.7.1 – message sends normally iPad on iPadOS 26.0.1 – message remains stuck in Outbox with attachments over ~3 MB Mail settings: default iCloud account (also tried explicit setPreferredSendingEmailAddress("…@icloud.com")), Low Power Mode and Low Data Mode are off. Has anyone else encountered this behavior on iPadOS 26, or found a reliable workaround? Here’s the minimal repro I’m using: import UIKit import MessageUI class ViewController: UIViewController { override func viewDidLoad() { super.viewDidLoad() // Do any additional setup after loading the view. } override func viewDidAppear(_ animated: Bool) { super.viewDidAppear(animated) let mailComposer = MFMailComposeViewController() mailComposer.setSubject("test") mailComposer.setMessageBody("test", isHTML: false) let repeatedString = String(repeating: "aaaaa aaaaa\n", count: 300000) let data = repeatedString.data(using: .utf8)! mailComposer.addAttachmentData( data, mimeType: "application/octet-stream", fileName: "text.txt" ) self.present(mailComposer, animated: true) } }

Screentime API new issues on iOS 17.4.1 and 17.5.1
Hi, I have a released screentime app ScreenZen. The last few days I've seen a disturbing spike in bug reports coming from people with 17.4.1 and 17.5.1 phones with no update to the app itself. People reported they saw the issue immediately after updating their iOS version. Unfortunately it is not replicable on all phones with those versions, so we haven't been able to replicate it on our test phones. It appears the issue is the ApplicationToken passed into ShieldActionExtension and ShieldConfigurationExtension does not match any of the ApplicationTokens that the user selected to block through FamilyControls. (The selected ApplicationTokens are being loaded through a group UserDefaults and they are indeed being loaded in the ShieldActionExtension in the bug reports). This is preventing the app from loading the correct settings and handling the blocking accordingly. I am trying to isolate this better with a new release with better logging, but would appreciate any help on this issue.

How to change default settings(a4,color etc.) on print system dialog in macOS programatically
Hello, I added a printer using lpadmin command. ` lpadmin "-p", "print_queue", "-D", "print queue", "-P", "temp/data/driver.ppd", "-E", "-o", "printer-error-policy=abort-job", "-o", "printer-is-shared=false", "-o", "cupsIPPSupplies=false", "-o", "cupsSNMPSupplies=false", "-o", "ColorModel=Color", "-o", "Media=A3", "-o", "OutputPaperSize=A3" then I set default printing options for your user account via lpoptions `lpoptions "-p", "print_queue", "-o", "Duplex=DuplexNoTumble", "-o", "Media=A3" But still default values in system print dialog are set to a4 and grayscale. Why? Is there any way how to change it to correspond with values set by these commands? Also tried to change driver files defaults, but again, nothing.

When is Apple ever going to release an updated screensaver Xcode template?
Since legacyScreenSaver is still the thing running screensavers we make, and it's still buggy, why won't they give us a new template for building screensavers that run in the new engine? And hopefully they don't require them to blend in with the desktop, because most of us don't want that. A wallpaper is a wallpaper, and a screensaver is a screensaver.

Clarification on Opening Main App from Share Extension and App Store Submission
Hello, In our application, we have implemented an app extension to allow users to open the main app directly from the share activity window. To achieve this, we used the openURL(:) method from the NSExtensionContext class, as documented here: openURL(:). However, we received one post from Apple stating that opening the main app directly is typically only supported in extensions such as Today widgets or iMessage apps. They also mentioned that this approach may require an additional review during the App Store submission process. Link: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/foundation/nsextensioncontext/1416791-openurl Could someone clarify: If using openURL(_:) in a share extension to open the main app would lead to potential issues during App Store submission? Are there specific guidelines or alternative approaches we should follow to ensure compliance? Any insights or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

The enterprise app crashes.
I created a new project, packaged it with my own enterprise certificate, installed and used it. There were no problems on most devices. However, on some devices with system versions of 18.3 and 18.4, the app crashes when opened after trusting the certificate. It seems that there is something wrong with the certificate, but I have confirmed that the certificate is fine. May I ask what the cause of this issue is?

App Crashing iOS26
I have four apps currently deployed on the App Store. One of these apps crashes on launch when running on iOS 26, but functions as expected on iOS 18 and earlier versions. I am seeking to understand what changes in iOS 26 might be causing this issue. When running the app in debug mode on devices with iOS 26 using Xcode 16.1, the app crashes. The crash log references libobjc-trampolines.dylib, suggesting a potential issue with the Objective-C runtime. Has anyone else encountered a similar issue? Is MetricKit automatically on all devices?
Hello Apple, I am trying to get information such as crash context whenever a user encounters a situation where the app is killed. I was wondering if the tool MetricKit is available to all users or is this a feature to those who has opted into it. I am aware that the whenever someone gets a new device or in settings, an option will appear that'll have users decide whether or not to have Apple receive data analytics during certain events on their device. Does this have any effect on whether some users may not have MetricKit? Overall, we are attempting to use MetricKit to better analyze performance of our app. It would be inefficient for us, if the population of users using MetricKit is only those who have opted into it. Thanks, dmaliro

FamilyActivityPicker crashing when expanding "Other" category
Hi there, I'm presenting a FamilyActivityPicker inside of a sheet, and on some phones, the FamilyActivityPicker freezes and crashes when the user expands the "Other" category only. "Other" is the only category that exhibits this behavior, and it only does this on some phones, not in all cases. This issue is perfectly reproducible on those phones when using the FamilyActivityPicker for the "other" category only, but on those same phones it does not reproducible in the Native ScreenTime Picker in Settings → ScreenTime → App Limits → Add Limit. I don't have access to these phones as they are user reports, but any guidance here would be deeply appreciated. More broadly, there are several issues with the FamilyActivityPicker (categories expand on top of each other when multiple are opened, varying behavior with tapping rows vs tapping select bubbles depending on phone size, etc) that the Native ScreenTime Picker doesn't have. Grouping websites as a standalone category is preferable as well. Could we as developers just have access to that one?

iOS app not getting killed after removing from app stack manually.
I am having an app in which we are using NEHotspotHelper to detect wifi changes. when I try to kill the app and network change detected, we are seeing logs in NEHotspotHelper* module and after that we are able see the logs indicating app launched in background. [Application] application(_:didFinishLaunchingWithOptions:), UIApplicationState: 2 But when I checked in the app stack, I couldn't find the app. Then I clicked icon to launch the app, it launched without splash screen as if it came from background. Need your support to understand this is expected behaviour.

Question about testing the Declared Age Range feature

I’m seeing a strange behaviour when sending mail from my app with MFMailComposeViewController. If the attachment is larger than about 3 MB, the message is created but then remains stuck in Outbox on my iPad running iPadOS 26.0.1. If I open the stuck draft in Outbox and tap Send immediately, the message is sent successfully. If I wait for a while before resending, the attachment shrinks to a few hundred bytes and the resend goes out without the file (I think the truncation is related to the MIME type, because it is not happening always). This happens only on the iPad: iPhone 16 on iOS 26.0.1 – message sends normally iPhone XR on iOS 18.7.1 – message sends normally iPad on iPadOS 26.0.1 – message remains stuck in Outbox with attachments over ~3 MB Mail settings: default iCloud account (also tried explicit setPreferredSendingEmailAddress("…@icloud.com")), Low Power Mode and Low Data Mode are off. Has anyone else encountered this behavior on iPadOS 26, or found a reliable workaround? Here’s the minimal repro I’m using: import UIKit import MessageUI class ViewController: UIViewController { override func viewDidLoad() { super.viewDidLoad() // Do any additional setup after loading the view. } override func viewDidAppear(_ animated: Bool) { super.viewDidAppear(animated) let mailComposer = MFMailComposeViewController() mailComposer.setSubject("test") mailComposer.setMessageBody("test", isHTML: false) let repeatedString = String(repeating: "aaaaa aaaaa\n", count: 300000) let data = repeatedString.data(using: .utf8)! mailComposer.addAttachmentData( data, mimeType: "application/octet-stream", fileName: "text.txt" ) self.present(mailComposer, animated: true) } }

AGX: AGX: agxa_device_template.hpp:1467:setupCompiler: *** FATAL: driver shader binary file not found in (null) for extension g15p!!! Thank you for your assistance.
