Spatial-backdrop standards process
Apple's WWDC video What’s new for the spatial web says the spatial-backdrop markup may change as it goes through the standards process (at 27:26 mark). I have started adding spatial-backdrops to web pages, so I want to keep an eye out for status updates by Apple and follow the standards progress. Is there any place I can keep an eye on this standards process? Has Apple announced any feature updates or news on spatial-backdrops?

Entity jittering when using hand anchor
Hello! I'm a developer of Ping Pong for Apple Vision Pro (Ping Pong Club). I'm experiencing an issues with collisions between ball and paddle. Sometimes the ball just unexpectedly flying away like it has been hit to hard. I believe this is happening because hand anchors are jittering (ping pong paddle has hand anchor component) and at the time of collision unnecessary micro motion produced. I've build a demo app to demonstrate that: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1gBh-DsXuVZdvDrrD7gJcbJ_hg7tvVKUV/view?usp=share_link Video: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1poPbsJdBz87edqrWIfBt1eSVzfm5CTek/view?usp=sharing Is there a way to add some threshold to prevent jittering?

Logitech Muse: OS-level support?
I've been experimenting with the Muse pen and understand that it can be accessed by my app through a SpatialTrackingSession, but is there any current or planned support for devices like this as for general UI input like game controllers are? For example, using the button as a tap analogue for SwiftUI views.

RealityView content disappears when selecting Lock In Place on visionOS
I'm experiencing an issue where all RealityView content disappears when the user selects "Lock In Place" from the window management menu (long press on close button). "Follow Me" works correctly and this happens in Testflight builds only not reproducible when I run locally I have reproduced this with a minimal project containing nothing but a simple red cube — no custom anchors, no app state, no dependencies. Steps to Reproduce: Open an ImmersiveSpace A red cube is placed 1m in front of the user via RealityView Long press the X button on any floating window Select "Lock In Place" The cube disappears immediately Expected: Cube remains visible after window is locked Actual: Cube disappears. Note: "Follow Me" does NOT reproduce this issue. Minimal reproducible code: struct ImmersiveView: View { var body: some View { RealityView { content in let cube = ModelEntity( mesh: .generateBox(size: 0.3), materials: [SimpleMaterial(color: .red, isMetallic: false)] ) cube.setPosition(SIMD3(0, 1.5, -1), relativeTo: nil) content.add(cube) } } } Device: Apple Vision Pro visionOS version: Vision OS 26.2 (23N301) Xcode version: Version 26.3 (17C529) Is this a known issue? Is there a recommended workaround to preserve RealityView content during Lock In Place transitions? Thank you!

Custom Material half visible..?
I'm currently implementing 180° / 360° immersive video for my app. I easily implemented 360° by just applying VideoMaterial to flipped sphere. But I'm stuck at 180°. I'm trying to implement by applying VideoMaterial to hemisphere (half sphere). I want to make VideoMaterial to be visible half front sphere and half back sphere transparent / clear. Would there be any advice / information / idea to implement this? Your help would be grateful.

MagnifyGesture in RealityView does not work on macOS
I have tested the MagnifyGesture code below on multiple devices: Vision Pro - working iPhone - working iPad - working macOS - not working In Reality Composer Pro, I have also added the below components to the test model entity: Input Target Collision For macOS, I tried the touchpad pinch gesture and mouse scroll wheel, but neither approach works. How to resolve this issue? Thank you. import SwiftUI import RealityKit import RealityKitContent struct ContentView: View { var body: some View { RealityView { content in // Add the initial RealityKit content if let immersiveContentEntity = try? await Entity(named: "Immersive", in: realityKitContentBundle) { content.add(immersiveContentEntity) } } .gesture(MagnifyGesture() .targetedToAnyEntity() .onChanged(onMagnifyChanged) .onEnded(onMagnifyEnded)) } func onMagnifyChanged(_ value: EntityTargetValue<MagnifyGesture.Value>) { print("onMagnifyChanged") } func onMagnifyEnded(_ value: EntityTargetValue<MagnifyGesture.Value>) { print("onMagnifyEnded") } }

Can video reflections in immersive space work with VideoMaterial, or is AVPlayerViewController with dockingRegion required?
Hi Apple Developer Forums, I'm developing a visionOS video streaming app that uses a custom immersive cinema experience with RealityKit. I have a question about enabling video reflections in an immersive environment. My Current Implementation I'm using VideoMaterial with AVPlayer to display video on a ModelEntity plane in an immersive space: // Create screen mesh let screenMesh = MeshResource.generatePlane( width: VideoTheater.screenWidth, height: VideoTheater.screenHeight, cornerRadius: 0.0 ) let screenEntity = ModelEntity(mesh: screenMesh) // Apply VideoMaterial with AVPlayer screenEntity.model?.materials = [VideoMaterial(avPlayer: player)] The video renders correctly in the immersive space, but I don't see any video reflections on surrounding surfaces. Apple's Documentation Approach According to the documentation at https://developer.apple.com/documentation/visionos/enabling-vid eo-reflections-in-an-immersive-environment, the recommended approach uses: AVPlayerViewController for video playback dockingRegion modifier to specify where the video should appear The system automatically handles reflections My Question Is using AVPlayerViewController with dockingRegion the only way to get video reflections in an immersive environment? Or is it possible to enable reflections when using VideoMaterial directly with RealityKit's ModelEntity? My app requires a custom immersive cinema experience with: Custom screen positioning and scaling Danmaku (bullet comments) overlay Custom gesture controls HDR/Dolby Vision support Switching to AVPlayerViewController would require significant architectural changes, so I'd prefer to keep my current VideoMaterial approach if reflections can be enabled somehow. If VideoMaterial cannot produce reflections, are there any alternative approaches to achieve diffuse video reflections with a custom RealityKit setup? Environment visionOS 2.x RealityKit AVPlayer with custom resource loader (for DASH streams) Thank you for any guidance!

The Widget HIG provides dimensions for all the widget size classes on iOS, iPadOS and watchOS, but has not been updated for visionOS. https://developer.apple.com/design/human-interface-guidelines/widgets My potential widget use case is image based, so I'm looking to better understand the optimal size, resolution etc I would need, particularly for the new visionOS specific extra large widget size.

Playing USDZ animation at last known location of reference object
Hi there I'm using Reality Composer Pro to anchor virtual content to a .referenceobject. However by moving the referenceobject quickly, it causes tracking to stop. (I know this is a limitation so im trying to make it a feature) IS there a way to play a USDZ animation at the last known location, after detecting that reference object is no longer being tracked? is it possible to set this up in Reality Composer pro? Nearly everything is set up in Reality Composer pro with my immersive.scene just anchoring virtual content to the Reference object in the RCP Scene, so my immersive view just does this - if let immersiveContentEntity = try? await Entity(named: "Immersive", in: realityKitContentBundle) { content.add(immersiveContentEntity) & this .onAppear { appModel.immersiveSpaceState = .open } .onDisappear { appModel.immersiveSpaceState = .closed } I have tried Using SpatialTracking & WorldTrackProvider, but I'm still quite new to Swift and coding in general so im unsure how to implement in conjunction with my RCP scene and if this is actually the right way to do it. Apologies for my lack of knowledge.

Accessing LiDAR Depth Data and Scene Reconstruction on Apple Vision Pro
Hello, I'm developing a visionOS application for Apple Vision Pro that aims to scan unknown physical objects, capture their 3D data (such as meshes or point clouds), and export them as 3D models. Ideally, I'd also like to visualize these reconstructions in real-time within the headset. This functionality is similar to what's available in Reality Composer on iPad and iPhone, but I'm seeking to implement it natively on Vision Pro. I've reviewed the visionOS documentation but haven't found clear guidance on accessing LiDAR depth data or performing scene reconstruction. Specifically, I'm interested in: 1.Accessing LiDAR or depth data from Vision Pro's sensors. 2.Utilizing ARKit's scene reconstruction capabilities on visionOS. 3.Exporting captured 3D data as models (e.g., USDZ or OBJ formats). Are there APIs or frameworks in visionOS that support these features?

When running Unity applications in the shared space of visionOS, the Mask/RectMask2D of ScrollView does not function properly
Problem Description: I am developing an application that runs in the Shared Space on Apple Vision Pro using Unity. When using the UI ScrollView (Scroll View) component, I found that the Mask / RectMask2D does not function in the Shared Space. Scrolling content is not masked or cropped; it extends beyond the view boundary and is displayed directly. The same UI works correctly across platforms such as Unity Editor, iOS, and macOS, but the issue only occurs in the shared space of Vision Pro. Reproduction steps: Create a ScrollView in Unity. Add a Mask or RectMask2D to the viewport. Deploy the application to Apple Vision Pro and run it in Shared Space mode. Sliding content will not be clipped by the mask, and the masked area is entirely ineffective. Expected behavior: The content of ScrollView should be properly clipped by Mask / RectMask2D and should not render outside the mask boundary. Actual results: In the shared space of Vision Pro, the mask is ineffective, causing scrolling content to extend beyond the designated area and resulting in severe UI distortion. Environmental Information: Device: Apple Vision Pro Mode: Shared Space Unity Version: 6000.0.40f1 visionOS version: visionOS 26.0 Unity PolySpatial Version: 2.0.4 Impact This issue causes Unity UI to fail to display correctly on Vision Pro, preventing ScrollView from properly clipping content, which impacts the UI experience and interaction effects in practical applications. See below our simple code displaying the ImagePresentationComponent and the images of the odd artifacts that appear briefly when dismissing the immersive space. import OSLog import RealityKit import SwiftUI struct ImmersiveImageView: View { let logger = Logger(subsystem: AppConstant.SUBSYSTEM, category: "ImmersiveImageView") @Environment(AppModel.self) private var appModel var body: some View { RealityView { content in if let currentMedia = appModel.currentMedia, var imagePresentationComponent = currentMedia.imagePresentationComponent { let imagePresentationComponentEntity = Entity() switch currentMedia.type { case .iphoneSpatialMovie: logger.info("\(#function) \(#line) spatial3DImmersive display for \(String(describing: currentMedia))") imagePresentationComponent.desiredViewingMode = .spatial3DImmersive case .twoD: logger.info("\(#function) \(#line) spatial3DImmersive display for \(String(describing: currentMedia))") imagePresentationComponent.desiredViewingMode = .spatial3DImmersive case .visionProConvertedSpatialPhoto: logger.info("\(#function) \(#line) spatialStereoImmersive display for \(String(describing: currentMedia))") imagePresentationComponent.desiredViewingMode = .spatialStereoImmersive default : logger.error("\(#function) \(#line) Unsupported media type \(currentMedia.type)") assertionFailure("Unsupported media type \(currentMedia.type)") } imagePresentationComponentEntity.components.set(imagePresentationComponent) imagePresentationComponentEntity.position = AppConstant.Position.spacialImagePosition content.add(imagePresentationComponentEntity) } let toggleViewAttachmentComponent = ViewAttachmentComponent(rootView: ToggleImmersiveSpaceButton()) let toggleViewAttachmentComponentEntity = Entity(components: toggleViewAttachmentComponent) toggleViewAttachmentComponentEntity.position = SIMD3<Float>( AppConstant.Position.spacialImagePosition.x + 1, AppConstant.Position.spacialImagePosition.y, AppConstant.Position.spacialImagePosition.z ) toggleViewAttachmentComponentEntity.scale = AppConstant.Scale.attachments content.add(toggleViewAttachmentComponentEntity) } } }

Im trying to use videoMaterial on a obj in Xcode 16, I'm lost.
I believe I have created a videoMaterial and assigned it to a mesh with code I found in the Developer's Documentation but Im getting this error. "Trailing closure passed to parameter of type 'String' that does not accept a closure" I have attached a photo of the code and where the error happens. Any help will greatly be appreciated.

Can I use the Camera API to shoot pictures with the wide camera, while AR is running on the main camera
I want to: Run ARKit on the main rear camera, and while it's running shoot high resolution pictures on the wide camera, without disturbing the AR tracking. Is this possible?
