A DNR rule with lower priority is being applied before a DNR rule of higher priority on Safari. Specifically, a low-priority DNR block rule that matches a request is being applied before a high-priority DNR redirect rule that matches the same request, preventing the redirect from occurring. The only way to get the high-priority redirect rule to occur is to remove the DNR block rule. This does not occur on other browsers. I have confirmed that the incorrect application of DNR rule priority happens on other top level domains, with other urlFilters, and with other redirect URLs. I confirmed that this is happening while I’ve granted my extension permissions on all websites.

I have a website that has been built in Wordpress and hosted on wordpress engine. In testing now and on the i phone with safari browser it keeps crashing after short time 2/3 minutes, content does not display properly pages go blank etc. Has anyone experienced this /have a solution? Thanks

In my application, I use HTML pages to display the interface. Since it’s a cross-platform app, the pages and interactions work properly on other platforms. However, in WebKit, because HTTPS protocol is used, JS requests from the page cannot use the ws protocol but must use the wss protocol under HTTPS. Is there any way to allow a webpage under HTTPS to use ws requests normally? Google Chrome can do this.

Dear Apple Developer Support, I’m developing a Chromium-based iOS browser and want to open the Safari settings page (Settings → Apps→ Safari) like Chrome’s “Import data from Safari” feature, where clicking “Go to settings” opens the Safari settings page. To reproduce this behavior in Chrome: 1.In Chrome, search “Import password from Safari.” 2.Restart Chrome. 3.Go to Chrome → Settings → Safari import → Import to Chrome → Go to settings. 4.You will see it opens Settings → Apps → Safari. Hi everyone, I’m working on a web project developed on Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), where we’ve built a custom component that embeds Apple Podcasts episodes using the official iframe provided via https://embed.podcasts.apple.com. Everything works correctly from a rendering point of view, but we are now exploring ways to track user interactions with the embedded player, specifically events such as: start, play, pause, progress milestones (e.g. 25%, 50%, etc.). This data would be used to send analytics events to Adobe Analytics. So far, we haven’t found any documentation or JavaScript API that would allow us to listen to these events. We'd like to ask: Is there any official way to track playback events from an Apple Podcasts iframe? Any information, clarification, or direction would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance! Before (working): JS → https://local.example.com → 127.0.0.1 → OK After (blocked / no DNS reply probably): JS → https://local.example.com → ERR Is there any way to restore local domain access or mitigate this issue?

Hello everyone, We've had our app rejected twice under Guideline 3.2.2 regarding charitable donations, and we're seeking clarification on the correct implementation. We've read the guidelines but want to confirm the technical approach with the community's experience. The Rejection Reason: Apple states: "We still noticed that your app includes the ability to collect charitable donations within the app..." They specify that since we are not an approved nonprofit, we must use one of the alternatives, primarily: "provide a link to your website that launches the default browser or SFSafariViewController for users to make a donation." Our Current (Rejected) Implementation: User taps a "Help" button in our native app. A native modal appears inside our app where the user enters their donation amount and email address for the receipt. The user clicks "Donate," which then opens an SFSafariViewController to our website's payment page (e.g., Stripe, PayPal). The amount and email are passed as URL parameters to pre-fill the form. Our Questions for the Community: Is the issue solely the fact that we have a native modal for data entry? We understand we cannot process the payment in-app, but we thought collecting the intent (amount, email) was acceptable before handing off to Safari. What is the definitive, compliant flow? Option A: Should the "Help" button do nothing more than open an SFSafariViewController to a generic donations landing page on our website (https://ourwebsite.com/donate), with no data pre-filled? The user must then navigate and enter all information on the website itself. Option C: The rejection also mentions SMS. Has anyone had success implementing a "Text-to-Donate" link instead of a web flow? Wording: The button in our app currently says "Donate". Should this be changed to a more passive call to action like "Visit Website to Donate" to make it absolutely clear the transaction is external? We want to ensure our next submission is successful. I'm building a macOS Google Chrome extension. I need to be able to send messages from the Chrome extension to the macOS app What's the set up flow? I've heard about native messaging, but I struggle to implement it. I've heard about XPC, but not sure JS can send messages to a macOS XPC service.

My app has been published by 2 months now I still I cant get Universal Links to work. I checked a lot of docs as well as videos about setting up universal links. Everyone with clear steps: Add the well-known json file to the server. Already validated by AASA web validator. Add the Associated domain on project capabilities, with the Web page root only. Eg: applinks:example:com. Install the app and trying clicking a link from notepad. Or instead make a long press to deploy contextual menu to see if my app is on the selectable options to open the link. My app is not been open in any of my attempts and the console always trying to use safari. I had a couple of screenshots of my testing. I really need help with this.

Hi, when I display an HTML page with a on Safari iOS, I get a nice UI. Great! At the first look I see a video frame with an arrow-in-a-circle button in the middle. Very nice. I click on the arrow and I get a fullscreen view while the video begins to play. I watch the video then I pause it then I click on the top-left x button. So I go back to my html page and the video is perfectly there as it was before. But, there is an annoying new detail. The video frame is really dark, it still presents all the controls and a "different" arrow button to play it again. In other words that nice video-frame, that nice picture, is not longer visible on the page. That nice page with nice pictures has now an almost-black rectangle. Too bad. Sure I can click on the video (outside the controls) then the controls and the black overlaying frame disappear. I can see that nice picture again. Finally. Well, but the arrow-in-a-circle button to play the video disappeared. Now the user cannot longer understand that's a video to play. It looks just like any other pictures to admire statically. Is any way to get the previous first look of the video? The one clear, with the current frame and the arrow-in-a-circle look?

Hello, I followed the instructions to set up a custom logo for our domain name Allogarage.fr, both for the brand and the domain. Everything appears to be correctly configured in Apple Business backend for several weeks now, but the logo still doesn’t show up in Mail. Is the branded email feature available in France? Are there any additional steps required?

With most recent Safari update, our page started having some of it's core functionality broken while users access it on Private mode due to Fingerprinting protection. The issue is that the code that breaks is our first-party code and I want understand why it is breaking and how to properly fix it. One thing we discovered was that a service of ours that uses the same code base doesn't have these issues and current assumption is that their page bundles are served on the same domain as the actual page request, while ours is coming from a different one. The other assumption was that the domain which we use for serving the bundles of the page are set on the domain that is flagged as tracking domain. Is there some documentation on how Safari decides which code is allowed reading user inputs and which isn't and what is the appropriate approach to fix this issue as it would be possible that these changes get release as default in the future?

Hi everyone, We're building a web application using Next.js that captures around 40 images across different routes as part of a guided user flow. At the beginning of the process, we explicitly request camera permission using navigator.mediaDevices.getUserMedia(...), and the user grants it successfully. However, as users proceed through the flow (navigating between routes), Safari on iOS intermittently re-prompts for camera access—despite the initial permission already being granted and the origin (domain) remaining unchanged. This repeated prompting interrupts the user experience significantly. What we’ve tried: Ensuring camera access is requested only once and reused where possible. Using persistent media stream across routes (where feasible). Testing across different iOS versions to confirm consistency. Questions: Is there a known workaround or best practice to persist camera access across route transitions in a SPA/PWA context on iOS? Are there any Safari-specific behaviors or restrictions related to WebRTC / getUserMedia we should be aware of? Would embedding the camera view in an iframe or maintaining a persistent component help avoid re-prompting? Any guidance or shared experience would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hello all, As you may know, the company ProofPoint is an Apple partner, and is engaged (I think) to reduce misuse of icloud emails. We have two servers solely set up for our web-app, which is a specialised forum for apartment owners. The new servers were established about the same time, with the same provider, with clean new IP addresses - and as mentioned above, are only used for this web-app. During a testing phase a YEAR ago, we became aware that our in-house icloud emails weren't receiving notifications via the app, and further investigations revealed that the cause was that ProofPoint had placed a block on that server's IP. We immediately, via their website form initiated a Support Ticket, which, the site indicated was lodged, BUT we have never received any response to that Ticket, nor have we received any response to four subsequent Tickets we initiated - nothing. In over a year!! Yesterday, we contacted Apple support, but the devices area of support is the main section and they said it wasn't an issue they could assist with. Some relevant matters: SPF: DKIM: DMARC: are, I believe all configured correctly (and Gmail gives a PASS to all of them). The IP is not blacklisted by any list we are aware of. Our other server's IP isn't blocked by ProofPoint. So, literally at wits end, I'm reaching out to the developer subscribers here to see if they have any suggestions for us. We currently are unable to accept any new subscriber that is using an icloud email address, and that's an absurd situation to be in. Surely we don't have to go to the trouble and inconvenience of obtaining a new IP because of this!!! But when we can't get ANY response to the Support Tickets, it's really hard. Thanks

Is there any supported mechanism in Safari Web Extensions (MV3) for capturing or logging network request data (like fetch, XHR, or webRequest) triggered by the web page?

When trying to create an anchor with the download attribute it does not work for PDF files, it displays the files inline. Also when the download attribute is set the target attribute is ignored too. The tag: ... The behavior: It displaies the file in line. The correct behavior: The file should be downloaded and not displayed or at least displayed but with the "_blank" target (new tab). This is an issue when working with WebSockets which is closed when the file is opened inline.
