PHPickerFilter doesn't always apply in Collections tab when using PHPickerViewController
Hi everyone, I’m running into an issue with PHPickerFilter when using PHPickerViewController. When I configure the picker with a .videos and .livePhotos filter, it seems to work correctly in the Photos tab. However, when I switch to the Collections tab, the filter doesn’t always apply — users can still see and select static image assets in certain collections (e.g. from one of the People & Pets sections). Here’s a simplified snippet of my setup: var configuration = PHPickerConfiguration(photoLibrary: .shared()) configuration.selectionLimit = 1 var filters = [PHPickerFilter]() filters.append(.videos) filters.append(.livePhotos) configuration.filter = PHPickerFilter.any(of: filters) configuration.preferredAssetRepresentationMode = .current let picker = PHPickerViewController(configuration: configuration) picker.delegate = self present(picker, animated: true) Expected behavior: The picker should consistently respect the filter across both Photos and Collections tabs, only showing assets that match the filter. Actual behavior: The filter seems to apply correctly in the Photos tab, but in the Collections tab, other asset types are still visible/selectable. Has anyone else encountered this behavior? Is this expected or a known issue, or am I missing something in the configuration? Thanks in advance!

AVAudioEngine failing with -10877 on macOS 26 beta, no devices detected via AVFoundation but HAL works
I’m developing a macOS audio monitoring app using AVAudioEngine, and I’ve run into a critical issue on macOS 26 beta where AVFoundation fails to detect any input devices, and AVAudioEngine.start() throws the familiar error 10877. FB#: FB19024508 Strange Behavior: AVAudioEngine.inputNode shows no channels or input format on bus 0. AVAudioEngine.start() fails with -10877 (AudioUnit connection error). AVCaptureDevice.DiscoverySession returns zero audio devices. Microphone permission is granted (authorized), and the app is properly signed and sandboxed with com.apple.security.device.audio-input. However, CoreAudio HAL does detect all input/output devices: Using AudioObjectGetPropertyDataSize and AudioObjectGetPropertyData with kAudioHardwarePropertyDevices, I can enumerate 14+ devices, including AirPods, USB DACs, and BlackHole. This suggests the lower-level audio stack is functional. I have tried: Resetting CoreAudio with sudo killall coreaudiod Rebuilding and re-signing the app Clearing TCC with tccutil reset Microphone Running on Apple Silicon and testing Rosetta/native detection via sysctl.proc_translated Using a fallback mechanism that logs device info from HAL and rotates logs for submission via Feedback Assistant I have submitted logs and a reproducible test case via Feedback Assitant : FB#: FB19024508]

tvOS AVQueuePlayer Now Playing Info in Control Center?
I have a music app I'm developing and having a weird issue where I can see now playing info for every other platform than tvOS. As far as I can tell I have correctly configured the MPNowPlayingInfoCenter MPNowPlayingInfoCenter.default().nowPlayingInfo = nowPlayingInfo MPNowPlayingInfoCenter.default().playbackState = .playing Are there any extra requirements to get my app's now-playing info showing in control center on tvOS? Another strange issue that might be related is I can use the apple TV remote to pause audio but not resume playback, so I feel like there's something I'm missing about registering audio playback on tvOS specifically.

Why a driverkit extension needs a CMIO extension
I developed a driverkit extension based on overriding-the-default-usb-video-class-extension, but the link didn’t give the details of realization. I asked DTS who gave two tips: 1, Do you also have a CMIO extension to load in place of the default overriding-the-default-usb-video-class-extension 2, Your DriverKit extension’s info.plist is also missing the CameraAssistantBundleID. I want to know why a driverkit extension needs a CMIO extension, what’s the data and control flow?

How to get a callback once a requested frameDuration change has been applied?
When changing a camera's exposure, AVFoundation provides a callback which offers the timestamp of the first frame captured with the new exposure duration: AVCaptureDevice.setExposureModeCustom(duration:, iso:, completionHandler:). I want to get a similar callback when changing frame duration. After setting AVCaptureDevice.activeVideoMinFrameDuration or AVCaptureDevice.activeVideoMinFrameDuration to a new value, how can I compute the index or the timestamp of the first camera frame which was captured using the newly set frame duration?

Apple Music web player will not work on wkwebview web browser or electron chromium browser.
Hello, I'm trying to create a webbrowser but currently when signed into apple music webplayer I get the following message when I attempt to play on any versions of my webbrowser: Not available on the web You can listen to this in the Apple Music app. Is there a way to setup DRM (assuming this is the issue) with apple to allow my webbrowser to play this content? I believe Apple TV is also affected. Thank you ahead of time.

Live Translations on VOIP on iOS26
Hi team, With regards to Call (Live) Translations on VOIP: Is it possible to invoke live translations within the app? (without going into the Call System UI) Is it possible to navigate users from app to Call System UI via an API? (and also invoking the new live translations directly) Will Apple support more languages apart from the current ones? (Currently I see 4 supported languages)

ShazamKit for Android and 16 KB native library alignment
Hello, I'm working on a Flutter app targeting both Android and iOS, where I implemented ShazamKit. In order to achieve that, I first tried with the flutter_shazam_kit package, but since it's not maintained anymore, I forked it here, and tried to update it to meet the Google Play Store requirements, as you can see here: https://github.com/mregnauld/flutter_shazam_kit/tree/fix-16k Unfortunately, after trying everything, my app still doesn't meet the (not so) new 16 KB native library alignment. Also, I'm 100% sure it comes from that because the error message disappears if I remove that package from my app. So after investigating, it seems that the problem comes from the ShazamKit for Android (that you can find here: https://developer.apple.com/download/all/?q=Android%20ShazamKit), and especially the .so files in the .aar file. Is there anything I can do to fix that, or should I wait before the ShazamKit team fix that? I'm totally stuck with that so any help is highly appreciated. Thanks.

Can I Fade Out Track Volume Before End Using ApplicationMusicPlayer?
I’m building a music app using Apple Music streaming via ApplicationMusicPlayer. My goal is to decrease the volume of the current song during the last 10 seconds, and when the next track begins, restore the volume to its normal level. I know that ApplicationMusicPlayer doesn’t expose a volume API, and I want to avoid triggering the system volume HUD. ✅ Using Apple Music streaming (not local files) ❓ Is it possible to implement per-track fade-out/fade-in logic with ApplicationMusicPlayer? Appreciate any clarification or official guidance!

How to capture audio from the stream that's playing on the speakers?
Good day, ladies and gents. I have an application that reads audio from the microphone. I'd like it to also be able to read from the Mac's audio output stream. (A bonus would be if it could detect when the Mac is playing music.) I'd eventually be able to figure it out reading docs, but if someone can give a hint, I'd be very grateful, and would owe you the libation of your choice. description.componentManufacturer = kAudioUnitManufacturer_Apple; description.componentFlags = 0; description.componentFlagsMask = 0; if( component = AudioComponentFindNext( NULL, &description ) ) { err = AudioComponentInstanceNew( component, &audioUnit ); if( err != noErr ) { audioUnit = NULL; return [ NSString stringWithFormat: @"Couldn't open AudioUnit component (ID=%d)", err] ; } } // Configure the AudioOutputUnit: // You must enable the Audio Unit (AUHAL) for input and output for the same device. // When using AudioUnitSetProperty the 4th parameter in the method refers to an AudioUnitElement. // When using an AudioOutputUnit for input the element will be '1' and the output element will be '0'. param = 1; if( audioBuffer == NULL ) { [ self cleanUp ]; return [NSString stringWithFormat: @"Could not allocate buffers for recording (ID=%d)", err]; } return nil; } (...again, it would be nice to know if audio output is active and thereby choose the clean output stream over the noisy mic, but that would be a different chunk of code, and my main question may just be a quick edit to this chunk.) Thanks for your attention! ==Dave [p.s. if i get more than one useful answer, can i "Accept" more than one, to spread the credit around?] {pps: of course, the code lines up prettier in a monospaced font!}

On iOS26, in our video playback app(use AVPlayer), the sound and video are out of sync when playing after seeking.
Our app plays TS files on an iPhone. The app fragments the TS files, creates an M3U8 playlist, converts them to HLS(HTTP Live Streaming), and then uses AVPlayer to play the video content. On a device running iOS 26, after starting playback and seeking, restarting playback causes the video and audio to be out of sync (by about 2-3 seconds depending on the situation). This also occurs on iPadOS/macOS 26. This issue was not observed prior to iOS 18. We are trying to fix this issue on the app side, but we have the following questions: The behavior of AVPlayer is different between iOS 26 and previous versions. Has there been any change that could be considered? Or is it a bug? We tried pausing before seeking, but it didn’t seem to have any effect. Are there any APIs or workarounds that can improve this? We would appreciate it if you could tell us any other helpful documents or URLs.

How to use Front UW and TrueDepth in iPad
I want to use both front UW and TrueDepth cameras in iPad which has front UW camera. Firstly, I have used only front builtInDualCamera by AVFoundation and tried all the formats that can be used with builtInDualCamera, but there was no format that could capture UW. Secondly, I have tried to both front builtInDualCamera and builtInUltraWideCamera, but there was no combination that could use builtInUltraWideCamera and builtInDualCamera. Is there any way ?

Error capturing ProRAW using iPhone 17 Pro Telephoto with photoQualityPrioritization set to .Quality
Hey, I'm having a very strange issue on my iPhone 17 Pro. I'm trying to capture a 12MP ProRAW image using the Telephoto Lens with the photoQualityPrioritization set to .Quality. Unfortunately I receive this error when trying to capture the image: Error Domain=AVFoundationErrorDomain Code=-11800 "The operation could not be completed" UserInfo={NSUnderlyingError=0x134f7a1f0 {Error Domain=NSOSStatusErrorDomain Code=-16802 "(null)"}, NSLocalizedFailureReason=An unknown error occurred (-16802), AVErrorRecordingFailureDomainKey=4, NSLocalizedDescription=The operation could not be completed} The photo captures correctly at 7.9x zoom, it's only a problem when the zoom goes over 8x. Also, it's only this particular configuration of settings which causes the issue. I'm able to capture an image if I either: Set quality to ".balanced" Set max dimensions to 48MP Capture a JPEG image instead of a ProRAW image Use the TripleCamera fusion lens Any help would be greatly appreciated. RealityKit/ARKit Memory Not Fully Released After AR Session Cleanup
Hi, I'm developing a SwiftUI app using RealityKit and ARKit for an AR measuring feature. I’ve noticed that after navigating away from my AR view and performing extensive cleanup (including removing all anchors/entities, pausing the ARSession, and nil-ing out all references), memory usage remains elevated and sometimes grows with repeated AR sessions. Each time I enter and exit the AR view, memory increases The memory does not return to the baseline after cleanup, even though all custom objects are deallocated. Are there best practices beyond what I’ve described to ensure all ARKit/RealityKit resources are released after an AR session?

Why is MusicKit ApplicationMusicPlayer not available on watchOS?
ApplicationMusicPlayer is not available on watchOS but all other platforms. Is there a technical reason for that like battery life? Same goes for SystemMusicPlayer and MPMusicPlayerController. I already filed feedbacks for that.

SFSpeechRecognizer has a memory leak
When I create a SFSpeechRecognizer object, I find SFLocalSpeechRecognitionClient remains in memory and never gets released. You can create a demo with a single UIButton whose touch action is SFSpeechRecognizer(locale: Locale(identifier: "zh_CN"))

Alex

Using non-local custom catalogues with Shazamkit
Hi, I'm trying to plan out development of an app and am wondering if it is possible to have user generated content automatically populate into a custom shazamkit catalogue and be able to query this catalogue non-locally? Storing all the submissions locally would obviously not scale.

Capture session interrupted randomly
We are facing a strange issue where a small portion of our large userbase can not start the capture session in our app, as it gets interrupted with the following reason: AVCaptureSessionInterruptionReasonVideoDeviceNotAvailableWithMultipleForegroundApps Our users are all from iPhones, no one is using an iPad. Just to be sure we have set session.isMultitaskingCameraAccessEnabled = true but it does not seem to make any difference. Another weird interruption we are seeing
