waiting for reply from DTS engineer.
Hello , am facing issue in submitting my app to store I have submitted my case to apple developer team my case ids "101969263018","101975805043". they told me to submit the report from feedback assistance my case id : FB12141270. but still I don't get any replay form feedback assistance. after that I submitted my case to DTS engineer case id : 2394373. got email to submit some file which I have submitted after that still I don't get any reply from DTS team. please help me to short out this issue. last one month am trying to short out this issue with apple developer team. still I don't get solution.

Background process not working in TestFlight
Hi everyone, I recently built an iOS application that fetches the healthkit data with the BGProcessingTask. It is working as expected in the debug with the physical device connected but its not working in Testflight. I printed out the logs but they don't show that the background process's running. SPM Package resources bundle id format has changed in Xcode 16
I have a project that uses local SPM packages for modularization. In one of my local SPM packages I have a .storyboard file that gets packaged as a resource in the SPM package and consumed inside the parent. In Xcode 15.4, the resource bundle for my local SPM Package has the bundle id PackageName-TargetName-resources. I use this inside a parent storyboard to reference the storyboard from the SPM package. In Xcode 16, however, the resource bundle for my SPM Package gets assigned the bundle id packagename.TargetName.resources. This, of courses, introduces a crash in builds of my app done with Xcode 16 due to the incorrect bundle id. There is no documentation of this change that I could find by Apple or by the SPM team. Apple Team: There is a Feedback Report FB14803020 with the build files attached from Xcode 15.4 and Xcode 16. I cannot attach those here due to the public nature of this forum

How can one suppress SF Symbol deprecation warnings?
Xcode 16 insists on showing deprecations of this type: Some.xib SF Symbol 'doc.on.doc' is deprecated, use 'document.on.document' instead. The problem is that the XIBs in question are set with a Deployment Target of macOS 12, where "document.on.document" actually isn't available and produces a missing image. So the warnings are wrong, as they ignore the deployment target set on the XIB. I filed a bug against this long ago and it was ignored. Having given up... does anyone know how to disable this particular warning?

NSLocationTemporaryUsageDescriptionDictionary crashes Xcode 13
I just submitted a feedback for this (FB9662125) but in the spirit of “share and enjoy”… The cool new Generate Info.plist File feature in Xcode 13 crashes if you try to put an NSLocationTemporaryUsageDescriptionDictionary in your Info.plist file. Here’s a simple repro scenario: Create a minimal iOS app (no Core Data, no tests) Go to target settings → Info tab → Custom iOS Target Properties Click the (+) button on any row to begin inserting a new row Select Privacy - Location Temporary Usage Description Dictionary Click somewhere else or press Return to commit the selection Xcode crashes immediately More generally, it seems that Xcode crashes any time it tries to regenerate your Info.plist file if it contains an NSLocationTemporaryUsageDescriptionDictionary, even if (for example) you manually pasted that dictionary into the file earlier. In that case, merely tapping the (+) button in step 3 above is enough to crash it.

App Stuck on Launch Screen When Debugging on iOS 18.5 Device with Xcode 16.3
I am using a Mac computer running macOS 15.5 with Xcode version 16.3 (16E140) and an iPhone XS Max on iOS 18.5. When debugging my app on the real device using Xcode, the app gets stuck on the launch screen and fails to proceed to the main interface. There is no output in the Xcode console, and the top of the window continuously shows "attaching to [app name] on [iPhone name]". Here are the details: The same issue occurred when the phone was running iOS 18.4.1. When I tested on another real device running iOS 17, the app launched and ran normally. I’ve tried clearing the cache, but it didn’t help. I deleted the ~/Library/Developer/Xcode/iOS DeviceSupport folder, let it re-download the necessary files, and ran the app again, but the issue persists. I’m currently out of ideas and would appreciate any assistance.

Mac (Designed for iPad) not been able to install on Mac testflight
Hi I developed an iPhone app but now I want to release the same app for iPad and Mac (Design for iPad). I made the changes below but I still not been able to install the app on my Mac. It says the app is incompatible but my Mac is MacBook Pro M2 which fills the requirements to install it. Things I did so my iPhone app could have support for iPad and Mac Added iPad and Mac (Designed for iPad) for the supported destinations Change the Status Bar Style to Require full screen Changed iOS minimum Deployments iOS to 17.6 Updated the launch screen logo so stays in the middle Xcode version 16.2 See the sccreenshots of the Xcode configuration and of the TestFlight on my MacBook Pro M2 Is there anything else I need to do? Thanks.

Error reporting test coverage in Xcode 14.3.1
Xcode is throwing an error when attempting to report test coverage after running unit tests. Xcode 16 | xcodebuild fails when providing -destination 'platform=iOS Simulator,name=iPhone 16,arch=x86_64'
Hello. In the Xcode 15 we were using this command in the terminal to run our tests on the Rosetta Simulator: xcodebuild -workspace CoreLibraries.xcworkspace -scheme CoreLibraries -destination 'platform=iOS Simulator,name=iPhone 15,arch=x86_64' test` In the Xcode 16 the same command doesn't work anymore. It produces the error: xcodebuild: error: Unable to find a device matching the provided destination specifier: { platform:iOS Simulator, arch:x86_64, OS:latest, name:iPhone 16 } Unsupported device specifier option. The device “iPhone 16” does not support the following options: arch Please supply only supported device specifier options. Running test directly from the Xcode UI using iPhone 16 (Rosetta) still works fine. Does anyone know how to modify the xcodebuild command to make it work again?

Standard Memory Debugging Tools
In many cases I’ll be talking to folks with a memory management problem and I’ll say “You should investigate this with the standard memory debugging tools.” They then turn around and ask me “What are those tools?” Well, this is what I mean: Zombies — This lets you quickly detect when an object is used after it’s been deallocated. Learn more about it in the Finding zombies section of the Instruments Help and in Investigating crashes for zombie objects. There was also an excellent WWDC video about this, namely, WWDC 2010 Session 311 Advanced Memory Analysis with Instruments. This is no longer available in the video archive but if you can find a copy it’s well worth a watch. Address Sanitizer — This is a lower-level tool that finds a variety of common memory management issues, including use after free and buffer overruns. Learn more about this in Diagnosing memory, thread, and crash issues early and the various articles it links to. There’s also a good discussion of this tool, and other Xcode runtime diagnostic tools, in WWDC 2017 Session 406 Finding Bugs Using Xcode Runtime Tools (also no longer available from Apple). Hardware memory tagging — If you have access to a device with hardware memory tagging — starting with the A19 or M5 processors — consider enabling Memory Integrity Enforcement (MIE). For the details, see Enabling enhanced security for your app or watch Secure your app with Memory Integrity Enforcement. Even if you don’t want to do that for your production app, enable it just for development by checking Hardware Memory Tagging in the Options tab of Xcode’s scheme editor. Older tools — There are a variety of older tools that might be useful in some specific circumstances. See the Enabling the Malloc Debugging Features section of the Memory Usage Performance Guidelines for more information about these. Of specific interest is libgmalloc, which is documented in a UNIX man page. For some practical examples of how to identity a memory management crash report and then investigate that crash with these tools, take a look at WWDC 2018 Session 414 Understanding Crashes and Crash Logs. When I inherit from a class assigning SceneLocationView() sceneNode is nil
When I try to post a LocationAnnotations of a subclass respect to the one defining variable sceneLocationView, by way of: sceneLocationView.addLocationNodeWithConfirmedLocation(locationNode: bannerAnnotationLocation) When I enter in: public func addLocationNodeWithConfirmedLocation(locationNode: LocationNode) { if locationNode.location == nil || locationNode.locationConfirmed == false { return } updatePositionAndScaleOfLocationNode(locationNode: locationNode, initialSetup: true, animated: true) locationNodes.append(locationNode) print(sceneNode?.description ?? I also tried to create a new variable in the subclass also assigning SceneLocationView(), but sceneNode remains nil. What to do to force it to assume a value?

Apple Watch stuck on "Copying shared cache symbols" – blocks real-time testing via Xcode
Hi everyone, I’m a student developer currently building a watchOS app that uses HealthKit and HKWorkoutSession to estimate core body temperature from real-time heart rate data. The app runs well in the simulator, but testing on a physical Apple Watch has been extremely difficult. Each time I try to run the app from Xcode (Version 16.3), the build gets stuck on: “Copying shared cache symbols from MyWatchName (0% completed)” Sometimes it just stops stating connection failure. However, more often no errors are shown, but the sync never finishes. I’ve tried the following without success: Restarting the watch, iPhone, and Xcode Switching networks (Wi-Fi and hotspot) USB wired pairing Resetting developer settings and trust prompts Deleting derived data Rebuilding the project This is especially limiting for a real-time health tracking app where I need to monitor HKLiveWorkoutBuilder data while the screen sleeps — which can’t be tested effectively in the simulator.

Sharing files from Finder to Simulator doesn't work
I'm trying to copy some files from the Finder on macOS 14 to several Simulator instances running iOS 16 and 17. When I right-click the file in the Finder, I can select Share > Simulator, then a share dialog pops up where I select the relevant Simulator and click on Send. According to this official help topic, the Files app should open allowing me to choose the destination, but instead nothing happens and the shared file is nothing to be seen. What's the issue?

BUG: iOS 18 Simulator cannot "Save to Files"
On iOS 18.0+ simulators, tap any share link button from any app, select "Save to Files", the "Save" button is disabled. In all previous simulator versions this works. This behavior even happens with default Apple apps like Photos. Simulator: Version 16.0 (1037) XCode: Version 16.1 beta (16B5001e) macOS: 14.6.1 (23G93)

Mac (Designed for iPad) not been able to install on Mac testflight
Hi I developed an iPhone app but now I want to release the same app for iPad and Mac (Design for iPad). I made the changes below but I still not been able to install the app on my Mac. It says the app is incompatible but my Mac is MacBook Pro M2 which fills the requirements to install it. Things I did so my iPhone app could have support for iPad and Mac Added iPad and Mac (Designed for iPad) for the supported destinations Change the Status Bar Style to Require full screen Changed iOS minimum Deployments iOS to 17.6 Updated the launch screen logo so stays in the middle Xcode version 16.2 See the sccreenshots of the Xcode configuration and of the TestFlight on my MacBook Pro M2 Is there anything else I need to do? Thanks.

Error reporting test coverage in Xcode 14.3.1
Xcode is throwing an error when attempting to report test coverage after running unit tests. Showing All Messages Failed to merge raw profiles in directory /{my project dir}/DerivedData/{my project name}/Build/ProfileData/A98EC493-3AB4-4B1C-B7FC-BC5D77B23EE3 to destination /{my project dir}/DerivedData/{my project name}/Build/ProfileData/A98EC493-3AB4-4B1C-B7FC-BC5D77B23EE3/Coverage.profdata: Aggregation tool '/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Toolchains/XcodeDefault.xctoolchain/usr/bin/llvm-profdata' failed with exit code 1: warning: /{my project dir}/DerivedData/{my project name}/Build/ProfileData/A98EC493-3AB4-4B1C-B7FC-BC5D77B23EE3/997F01E3-3735-4897-AE00-31EBB0A9E8D3-57885.profraw: invalid instrumentation profile data (file header is corrupt) error: no profile can be merged Anyone else seeing this issue?

Crash on saving an autocreated testplan in Xcode 16.3?
Is anybody able to save the autocreated testplan successfully with Xcode 16.3? I get a crash no matter what (different filenames, locations, machines, ...). Now created a template project: same thing. Xcode Version 16.3 (16E140) on macOS 15.5 (24F74) Known issue, or am I holding it wrong?

Xcode 16 | xcodebuild fails when providing -destination 'platform=iOS Simulator,name=iPhone 16,arch=x86_64'
Hello. In the Xcode 15 we were using this command in the terminal to run our tests on the Rosetta Simulator: xcodebuild -workspace CoreLibraries.xcworkspace -scheme CoreLibraries -destination 'platform=iOS Simulator,name=iPhone 15,arch=x86_64' test` In the Xcode 16 the same command doesn't work anymore. It produces the error: xcodebuild: error: Unable to find a device matching the provided destination specifier: { platform:iOS Simulator, arch:x86_64, OS:latest, name:iPhone 16 } Unsupported device specifier option. The device “iPhone 16” does not support the following options: arch Please supply only supported device specifier options. Running test directly from the Xcode UI using iPhone 16 (Rosetta) still works fine. Does anyone know how to modify the xcodebuild command to make it work again?

Standard Memory Debugging Tools
In many cases I’ll be talking to folks with a memory management problem and I’ll say “You should investigate this with the standard memory debugging tools.” They then turn around and ask me “What are those tools?” Well, this is what I mean: Zombies — This lets you quickly detect when an object is used after it’s been deallocated. Learn more about it in the Finding zombies section of the Instruments Help and in Investigating crashes for zombie objects. There was also an excellent WWDC video about this, namely, WWDC 2010 Session 311 Advanced Memory Analysis with Instruments. This is no longer available in the video archive but if you can find a copy it’s well worth a watch. Address Sanitizer — This is a lower-level tool that finds a variety of common memory management issues, including use after free and buffer overruns. Learn more about this in Diagnosing memory, thread, and crash issues early and the various articles it links to. There’s also a good discussion of this tool, and other Xcode runtime diagnostic tools, in WWDC 2017 Session 406 Finding Bugs Using Xcode Runtime Tools (also no longer available from Apple). Hardware memory tagging — If you have access to a device with hardware memory tagging — starting with the A19 or M5 processors — consider enabling Memory Integrity Enforcement (MIE). For the details, see Enabling enhanced security for your app or watch Secure your app with Memory Integrity Enforcement. Even if you don’t want to do that for your production app, enable it just for development by checking Hardware Memory Tagging in the Options tab of Xcode’s scheme editor. Older tools — There are a variety of older tools that might be useful in some specific circumstances. See the Enabling the Malloc Debugging Features section of the Memory Usage Performance Guidelines for more information about these. Of specific interest is libgmalloc, which is documented in a UNIX man page. For some practical examples of how to identity a memory management crash report and then investigate that crash with these tools, take a look at WWDC 2018 Session 414 Understanding Crashes and Crash Logs. When I inherit from a class assigning SceneLocationView() sceneNode is nil
When I try to post a LocationAnnotations of a subclass respect to the one defining variable sceneLocationView, by way of: sceneLocationView.addLocationNodeWithConfirmedLocation(locationNode: bannerAnnotationLocation) When I enter in: public func addLocationNodeWithConfirmedLocation(locationNode: LocationNode) { if locationNode.location == nil || locationNode.locationConfirmed == false { return } updatePositionAndScaleOfLocationNode(locationNode: locationNode, initialSetup: true, animated: true) locationNodes.append(locationNode) print(sceneNode?.description ?? "nil") self.sceneNode?.addChildNode(locationNode) } I find sceneNode to nil, like if the effect of the renderer is lost when subclassing. I also tried to create a new variable in the subclass also assigning SceneLocationView(), but sceneNode remains nil. What to do to force it to assume a value?

Duplicate apps launched when debugging in Xcode?
I’ve noticed a strange bug in Xcode 16 and Swift. When a preview is rendering and hasn’t finished yet and you run an app to debug, Xcode is launching two instances of the app. Has anyone else noticed this issue? If you let the preview finish rendering before running the app, this doesn’t happen. Very odd.

Apple Watch stuck on "Copying shared cache symbols" – blocks real-time testing via Xcode
Hi everyone, I’m a student developer currently building a watchOS app that uses HealthKit and HKWorkoutSession to estimate core body temperature from real-time heart rate data. The app runs well in the simulator, but testing on a physical Apple Watch has been extremely difficult. Each time I try to run the app from Xcode (Version 16.3), the build gets stuck on: “Copying shared cache symbols from MyWatchName (0% completed)” Sometimes it just stops stating connection failure. However, more often no errors are shown, but the sync never finishes. I’ve tried the following without success: Restarting the watch, iPhone, and Xcode Switching networks (Wi-Fi and hotspot) USB wired pairing Resetting developer settings and trust prompts Deleting derived data Rebuilding the project This is especially limiting for a real-time health tracking app where I need to monitor HKLiveWorkoutBuilder data while the screen sleeps — which can’t be tested effectively in the simulator.

Sharing files from Finder to Simulator doesn't work
I'm trying to copy some files from the Finder on macOS 14 to several Simulator instances running iOS 16 and 17. When I right-click the file in the Finder, I can select Share > Simulator, then a share dialog pops up where I select the relevant Simulator and click on Send. According to this official help topic, the Files app should open allowing me to choose the destination, but instead nothing happens and the shared file is nothing to be seen. What's the issue?

iOS 15.0 Minimum deployment version
Hi, I'm trying to plan some roadmaps out and also have some issues with ios 15.0. Since it's no longer supported by Apple, any word on if/when iOS 15.0 will be removed from the "minimum deployment" version list in Xcode?
