Sandbox refund testing "Cannot connect" error
I'm running into a refund issue when testing in-app purchases in sandbox mode. I'm able to successfully purchase items but roughly 1 out of 3 times, when the refund window pops up, it says it cannot connect even though our webhook servers can verify the transaction id sent from apple. My internet connection is good and I've varied the wait period from purchase to refund from 15mins to 2 hours. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Unexpected ONE_TIME_CHARGE Refund Callback After Successful Purchase
We are using consumable in-app purchases. Starting from May 27th, we began receiving refund callbacks with the notificationType set to ONE_TIME_CHARGE immediately after users successfully completed a payment. { "notificationType": "ONE_TIME_CHARGE", "signedPayload": "..." } During this period, we did not make any changes to our App release or server-side purchase handling logic. Could this issue result in actual refunds being processed? What steps should we take to resolve this issue? We also noticed in your changelog that a new notification type ONE_TIME_CHARGE has been introduced. Can we safely ignore callbacks with the ONE_TIME_CHARGE notification type without affecting refund processing or user experience?

In-App Subscriptions Not Fetching in Sandbox or Production (expo-iap / React Native / Bare Workflow)
Hi everyone, I’m encountering an issue with my in-app subscriptions setup. When I test using the StoreKit configuration file in Xcode, everything works correctly — the subscriptions are fetched and I can simulate purchases without any issues. However, when I switch to the Sandbox or Production environment, my app fails to fetch the available products from Apple’s servers. The call to fetchProducts (from the expo-iap library) returns an empty array. Here’s some context about my setup: Framework: React Native (Expo Bare Workflow) Library: expo-iap Products: Auto-renewable subscriptions StoreKit Configuration: Synced with App Store Connect Status: Subscription Plans are approved in App Store Connect I’ve verified the following: The product identifiers in code match exactly with those in App Store Connect. The app is signed with the correct bundle ID. I’m testing with a Sandbox account (logged in via Settings -> Developer -> Sandbox Tester Account). Despite this, the response from Apple’s servers still contains an empty array. Has anyone experienced something similar with expo-iap or in general when moving from StoreKit configuration to Sandbox/Production? Any suggestions on what else I could check or common pitfalls I might be missing? Thanks in advance!

Why doesn’t Transaction.updates emit reliably?
I'm on macOS Sequoia Version 15.7.3 (24G419) and using Xcode Version 26.2 (17C52). In my Xcode project, Transaction.updates and Product.SubscriptionInfo.Status.updates don’t seem to emit updates reliably. The code below works consistently in a fresh Xcode project using a minimal setup with a local StoreKit Configuration file containing a single auto-renewable subscription. class InAppPurchaseManager { static let shared = InAppPurchaseManager() var transactionTask: Task<Void, Never>? var subscriptionTask: Task<Void, Never>? init() { print("Launched InAppPurchaseManager...") transactionTask = Task(priority: .background) { for await result in Transaction.updates { print("\nReceived transaction update...") try? await result.payloadValue.finish() } } subscriptionTask = Task(priority: .background) { for await result in Product.SubscriptionInfo.Status.updates { print("\nReceived subscription update...") print("state:", result.state.localizedDescription) } } } } I initialise it in: func applicationDidFinishLaunching(_ aNotification: Notification) { _ = InAppPurchaseManager.shared } I do not build any UI for this test. I open StoreKit Transaction Manager then click Create Transaction → select the product → choose Purchase (Default) → Next → Done. The console shows that it detects the initial purchase, renewals and finishes each transaction. It also works even if I do not add the In-App Purchase capability. In my actual project, the initial purchase is detected and finished, but renewals are not detected. Subsequent transactions then appear as unverified, presumably because the updates are not being observed so the transactions are not being finished. What can I do to make this work reliably in my actual project? For context, in the actual project: I have a StoreKit Configuration file that is synced with App Store Connect The In-App Purchase capability is enabled The configuration file is selected in the scheme The products in App Store Connect show “Ready to Submit” Loading products works: try await Product.products(for: ...) Also, I use ProductView for the purchase UI. The first purchase works and is detected and finished, but subsequent renewals are not finished because the updates do not seem to be emitted.

tvOS In-App Purchase – App Not Returning After Redirecting to Settings for Apple ID Verification
I'm encountering an issue with In-App Purchases on Apple TV (tvOS): When a user initiates an IAP for the first time, the system prompts them to sign in with their Apple ID, and the purchase proceeds normally. However, on subsequent purchase attempts, if the Apple ID session has expired or additional verification is required, the system redirects the user to the Settings app to sign in again. After the user signs in via Settings, the app does not automatically return to the foreground. The user must manually press the Menu button to come back. Is this is the normal behaviour of apple tv for InApp purchase? or did I need any code improvement to solve this? What I'm trying to achieve: I'd like the app to automatically return to the foreground once the user has completed the Apple ID login in Settings. Is this behavior supported on tvOS? If not, is there any known workaround or best practice to guide the user back to the app smoothly? Any advice or guidance from Apple or other developers would be greatly appreciated!

"Cannot connect to App Store" when trying to purchase subscription using Xcode built app
I'm developing an app and I think I've implemented what I need to in the swift code. However, when I click the Purchase button in my app, I see "Cannot connect to App Store" when the App Store app opens. Attached are images showing how I've configured the Sandbox user. What am I doing wrong? I expect to be able to do a fake purchase to test subscription activation in the app, but it doesn't work.

Product.SubscriptionInfo subscriptionPeriod does not provide the same result between the Sandbox/App Store environment and the StoreKit Testing in Xcode for a "1 week" subscription. "1 week" vs "7 days"
Hello, I noticed the Product.SubscriptionInfo subscriptionPeriod (of type Product.SubscriptionPeriod) is different for the same product between StoreKit Testing in Xcode and the sandbox/App Store (production) environment. For a “1 week” auto-renewable subscription, we get the following: StoreKit Testing in Xcode: 1 week gives a subscriptionPeriod with value of 1 and a unit of Product.SubscriptionPeriod.Unit.week Sandbox/App Store: 1 week gives a subscriptionPeriod with value of 7 and a unit of Product.SubscriptionPeriod.Unit.day This created issues in my app because I used the localizedDescription of a Product.SubscriptionPeriod to display a text similar to “$4.99 per week”. This is what I obtain with the StoreKit Testing in Xcode, but in the Sandbox/App Store environment, it displays “$4.99 per day” (because the subscriptionPeriod is “7 Days” and the unit is then .day). Obviously, this is not what I wanted to display. Other periods like “1 month”, “2 months”, “3 months”, “6 months, and “1 year”, the period provided by both StoreKit Testing and Sandbox/App Store correspond to the period unit specified in App Store Connect. In addition, I want to report that for a weekly subscription/offer or a 2 weeks offer, Product.SubscriptionInfo.subscriptionPeriod or Product.SubscriptionOffer.period == .weekly or .everyTwoWeeks is always false. We observe the following: With Sandbox or App Store live production: 1 week, Product.SubscriptionInfo.subscriptionPeriod == .weekly is false (because it’s “7 days”) 1 week, Product.SubscriptionOffer.period == .weekly is false (because it’s “7 days”) 2 weeks (offer), Product.SubscriptionInfo.subscriptionPeriod == .everyTwoWeeks is false (because it’s “14 days”) 2 weeks (offer), Product.SubscriptionOffer.period == .everyTwoWeeks is false (because it’s “14 days”) But with an Xcode StoreKit configuration file: 1 week, Product.SubscriptionInfo.subscriptionPeriod == .weekly is true (because it’s “1 week”) 1 week, Product.SubscriptionOffer.period == .weekly is true (because it’s “1 week”) 2 weeks, Product.SubscriptionInfo.subscriptionPeriod == . everyTwoWeeks is true (because it’s “2 weeks”) 2 weeks, Product.SubscriptionOffer.period == . everyTwoWeeks is true (because it’s “2 weeks”) So in sandbox and production, .weekly and .everyTwoWeeks is never possible. If someone from Apple could check the feedback FB19605865 🙂 Thank you Regards, Axel, @alpennec Code: do { let productIDs: [String] = ["revenueSocks_weekly_trial"] let products: [StoreKit.Product] = try await Product.products (for: productIDs) let weeklySubscription: StoreKit.Product = products.first! let displayPrice: String = weeklySubscription.displayPrice // For a weekly subscription in App Store Connect // With an Xcode StoreKit configuration file: subscriptionPeriod unit is Week (week), value is 1 → "1 Week" // With the Sandbox + App Store: subscriptionPeriod unit is Day (.day), value is 7 → "7 Days" let unitString: String = weeklySubscription.subscription!.subscriptionPeriod.unit.localizedDescription print("\(displayPrice) per \(unitString.localizedLowercase)") // StoreKit configuration file → "$4.99 per week" // Sandbox + App Store → "$4.99 per day" } catch { print(error) }

App Store Server Notifications Update
Hello Apple Support Team, We're a developer team that has created an app with subscription-based features, and we've been using App Store Server Notifications to receive updates about user subscription status changes. I'm reaching out to inquire about potential modifications to the App Store Server Notifications approach that might have improved notification delivery times for my app. So on our appstore app, when a user purchases a subscription, the apple server notifications reach our server and send us the complete detail of that user’s purchase for eg he upgraded or downgraded etc. And then based on the data we receive from app store server notifications, we save it in our database, along with updating the users subscription table in the database. Previously, we experienced delays in receiving the real time notifications from apple on our server, sometimes taking a few minutes, while other times they would arrive immediately. And because of this issue, the users faced delay in seeing their subscription updates, as our db was updated only after the app store server notification reached our server. However, recently, we've noticed a significant improvement, and notifications are now being delivered still in real-time, but without any noticeable delays. I'm wondering if Apple has made any changes to the App Store Server Notifications system that might have resolved the delay issue. Could you please confirm if any modifications were made in 2025, specifically from January onwards, that might have improved notification delivery times? Additionally, I'd like to know if these changes apply to both sandbox testing and production environments. If possible, could you please provide more information about the changes or direct me to a resource that might explain the updates? I'd appreciate your assistance in confirming this information, and I'm looking forward to hearing back from you.

Subscribe button does nothing in App Review, but In
Hello, My app "MyCourses" (bundle id: com.ahmedbaqer.mycourses) was rejected under Guideline 2.1 because "No action followed when we tapped the button to subscribe to a course" on iPadOS 26.1. When I run the same code (version 1.0.0 (11)) from Xcode on a real device using a StoreKit configuration file (In App Purchase.storekit), the purchase flow works correctly: When I tap the "Subscribe via Apple" button, the App Store purchase sheet appears. The purchase completes successfully and unlocks the course. I use the in_app_purchase Flutter plugin and queryProductDetails to load products. However, when I install the build via TestFlight (and in App Review), tapping the same "Subscribe via Apple" button does nothing – which matches the behavior described by App Review. From my logs it looks like queryProductDetails is returning an empty productDetails list in that environment. For In‑App Purchases: I created 7 non‑consumable products in App Store Connect. Their Product IDs exactly match the IDs in my In App Purchase.storekit file (used only for local Xcode testing). All IAPs are now in "Waiting for Review" status and are linked to the iOS app version 1.0.0 (11) in the “In‑App Purchases and Subscriptions” section. At the time of the original review, some IAPs were in "Developer Action Needed / Rejected" state, so I suspect queryProductDetails may have returned no products and the reviewer saw no action after tapping the button. My questions: When IAP products are in "Waiting for Review" and linked to the app version, should queryProductDetails return them during App Review / TestFlight, or do they need to be fully approved first? Is there any additional configuration required so that the subscribe button reliably shows the App Store purchase sheet for reviewers (for example, any specific StoreKit / sandbox settings)? Are there recommended best practices to show a clearer error state when queryProductDetails returns no products, so that App Review understands this is a configuration / IAP-status issue rather than a UI bug? Any guidance from Apple engineers or other developers who faced a similar situation would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

StoreKit Sandbox – Unfinished Consumable Transaction Across Devices
I’d like to confirm the expected behavior of StoreKit 2 in the Sandbox environment regarding unfinished consumable transactions across devices. Scenario: Device A and Device B are signed in with the same Sandbox Apple ID A consumable in-app purchase is completed on Device A The transaction may be verified or unverified, but transaction.finish() is not called The app is then launched on Device B and listens for Transaction.updates Question: In this scenario, is it expected that Device B will or will not receive a callback for this unfinished consumable transaction? Or is it by design that unfinished consumable transactions are not guaranteed to be delivered across devices, regardless of verification state?

App Review cannot complete auto-renewable subscription purchase (Guideline 2.1) although sandbox & TestFlight work
Hello, I’m experiencing repeated rejections related to Guideline 2.1 – App Completeness for an iOS app using auto-renewable subscriptions, and I’m struggling to understand what is missing, as the purchase flow works correctly in sandbox and TestFlight. App setup: iOS app built with React Native (Expo + react-native-iap) Auto-renewable subscriptions: • Monthly: €4.99 • Yearly: €39.99 Paid Apps Agreement accepted Subscriptions configured and active in App Store Connect Privacy Policy and Apple Standard EULA included: • Visible inside the app on the subscription screen • Added in App Store metadata What App Review reports: App Review states they are unable to buy the in-app purchase, resulting in a rejection under Guideline 2.1 (App Completeness). What works correctly: getSubscriptions() returns valid products in sandbox Subscription titles, prices, and durations are displayed in the app UI requestSubscription() is triggered when tapping the subscribe button Apple purchase sheet appears and completes successfully in: • Sandbox testing • TestFlight (external testers) What I’ve verified: No conditional logic blocks purchases in review builds Purchase button always calls requestSubscription purchaseUpdatedListener and purchaseErrorListener are correctly registered No hardcoded prices; prices come from StoreKit Same behavior on iPhone and iPad Question: Is there any known limitation or requirement in the App Review environment for auto-renewable subscriptions that differs from sandbox/TestFlight when using a custom subscription UI (not SubscriptionStoreView)? If App Review requires a specific implementation detail (StoreKit 2, SubscriptionStoreView, or something else), I would really appreciate clarification, as this is not explicitly stated in the rejection. Thank you for your help.

SubscriptionStoreView(groupID:) bug in TestFlight
Hello, I seem to have a strange bug when testing 2 of my Apps that calls SubscriptionStoreView(groupID: storekitmanager.groupID), where storekitmanager is using @Observable, with groupID from the Subscription Group in App Store Connect. They have the following: Yearly, Biannually, and Monthly. Their productIDs and groupIDs have been configured in each app with the correct IDs. In my main Apple ID, when the SubscriptionStoreView is presented, selecting Monthly, tap Subscribe, and nothing happens. Selecting either Yearly or Biannually, tap Subscribe and the Confirmation Dialog that triggers faceID/touchID will appear correctly. This happens in both Apps for TestFlight. I have a Manage Subscriptions button that uses: manageSubscriptionsSheet(isPresented:subscriptionGroupID:) I can change the subscription to Monthly in that manage subscriptions. However, if I switch to a Sandbox Apple Account, the "bug" described above does not happen. The Sandbox account when selecting Monthly and tap Subscribe will trigger the Confirmation Dialog (in both Apps). Not sure if my main account is "stuck" in some loop where it is trying to purchase Monthly in TestFlight but it is not completed. Has anyone ever encountered such a bug?

verifyReceipt endpoint failing on occassion
I am finding that the verifyReceipt endpoint used to verify a receipt is failing on occassion starting around October 27, 2015. I realize this API is deprecated. I am using cURL to call verifyReceipt. The specific errors are 52 - Empty reply from server and 56 - Connection closed abruptly. This indicates an issue with Apple's server as I understand it. Is anyone else experiencing this as well?

My Subscription Screen
Hey everyone, This might be a simple fix that I’m just overlooking, but I’ve been stuck on it for the past 48 hours. The issue is on my subscription screen — after a user completes a successful in-app purchase, the app doesn’t navigate to the main app like it’s supposed to. I’ve added logs, tried various fixes, and even asked AI for help, but nothing has worked. From what I can tell, it seems like my listeners aren’t being registered properly after the transaction. I’ve tried reinitializing them, moving them around, and testing different flows, but still no luck. If anyone has insight into how they’ve set this up or any suggestions I might not have considered, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

Product.SubscriptionInfo subscriptionPeriod does not provide the same result between the Sandbox/App Store environment and the StoreKit Testing in Xcode for a "1 week" subscription. "1 week" vs "7 days"
Hello, I noticed the Product.SubscriptionInfo subscriptionPeriod (of type Product.SubscriptionPeriod) is different for the same product between StoreKit Testing in Xcode and the sandbox/App Store (production) environment. For a “1 week” auto-renewable subscription, we get the following: StoreKit Testing in Xcode: 1 week gives a subscriptionPeriod with value of 1 and a unit of Product.SubscriptionPeriod.Unit.week Sandbox/App Store: 1 week gives a subscriptionPeriod with value of 7 and a unit of Product.SubscriptionPeriod.Unit.day This created issues in my app because I used the localizedDescription of a Product.SubscriptionPeriod to display a text similar to “$4.99 per week”. This is what I obtain with the StoreKit Testing in Xcode, but in the Sandbox/App Store environment, it displays “$4.99 per day” (because the subscriptionPeriod is “7 Days” and the unit is then .day). App Store Server Notifications Update
Hello Apple Support Team, We're a developer team that has created an app with subscription-based features, and we've been using App Store Server Notifications to receive updates about user subscription status changes.
