I got a question about the new Bundles / Suites for App Store distribution.
Our apps currently offer individual subscriptions and we'd like to offer 2 kinds of combos, either as bundle or suite, to be discussed:
- A "Thematic Pass" - TP (4 apps: 2 iOS apps, 2 Mac apps)
- A "General Pass" - GP (all company apps, over 5 of them, including the one from the thematic pass above)
There could be additional Thematic Passes in the future.
I have a number of specific questions that don't seem to be addressed right now in the available documentation:
- Does a single bundle support Mac and iOS apps simultaneously?
- is an overlap between offering permitted (I understand it is OK for bundles) like in the example above? Like with TP as a bundle and GP as a suite?
- what about existing app subscribers if we go with a Suite, is there a migration path?
- what about one-time (non-consumable) IAP, can they coexist with Bundle / Suites?
- where do customers buy a bundle? Within the app or directly on the App Store?
- same question for a Suite?
- about older OS support (mainly iOS 26), I understand Bundle/Suite are not available. Does that mean that a Suite offers means we have to stop selling for pre-27 devices or can pre-existing individual subscription remain in place?
Business model changes have to be well thought out before implementing them, so thank you in advance for any information that can help choose the best approach.
