Unable to Retain Main App Window State When Transitioning to Immersive Space
In Vision OS app, I have two types of windows: Main App Window – This is the default window that launches when the app starts. It displays the video listings and other primary content. Immersive Space Window – This opens only when a user starts streaming or playing a video. Issue: When entering the immersive space, the main app window remains visible in front of it unless manually closed. To avoid this, I currently close the main window when transitioning to immersive space and reopen it when exiting from immersive space. However, this causes the app to restart instead of resuming from its previous state. Desired Behavior: I want the main app window to retain its state and seamlessly resume from where it was before entering immersive mode, rather than restarting. Attempts & Challenges: Tried managing opacity, visibility but none worked as expected. Couldn’t find a way to push the main window to the background while bringing the immersive space to the foreground. Looking for a solution to keep the main window’s state intact while transitioning between immersive and normal modes.

Access a DepthMap while RoomCaptureSession
I'm capturing a room via RoomPlan API and would like to access the DepthMap(sceneDepth) or SmoothDepthMap(smoothedSceneDepth) from my own provided ARSession for RoomCaptureSession. But both depth maps are empty when handling the delegates. I have not found a solution yet. So is it even possible? Because i have not found any documentation of what RoomCaptureSession overwrites in the ARSession if I provide my own ARSession instance. Here is a example code snippet of what i'm trying to do: private let arSession = ARSession() private lazy var roomPlanCaptureSession = RoomCaptureSession(arSession: arSession) let arConfig = ARWorldTrackingConfiguration() //Create semantics for ARconfig which is used for ARSession var semantics: ARWorldTrackingConfiguration.FrameSemantics = [] if ARWorldTrackingConfiguration.supportsFrameSemantics(.sceneDepth) { semantics.insert(.sceneDepth) } if ARWorldTrackingConfiguration.supportsFrameSemantics(.smoothedSceneDepth) { semantics.insert(.smoothedSceneDepth) } arConfig.frameSemantics = semantics //set delegates roomPlanCaptureSession.delegate = self arSession.delegate = self //Check if device support for depthMap if ARWorldTrackingConfiguration.supportsFrameSemantics(.sceneDepth){ arSession.run(arConfig) } else{ print(".sceneDepth is unsupported.") } //run roomcapture scan config let captureConfig = RoomCaptureSession.Configuration() roomPlanCaptureSession.run(configuration: captureConfig) //trying to get sceneDepth public func session(_ session: ARSession, didUpdate frame: ARFrame) { print("session delegate capture: sceneDepth: \(String(describing: frame.sceneDepth))") //prints: session delegate capture: sceneDepth: nil also in this video from 2023 it is say that i can pass custom ARSession to my RoomPlan. Explore enhancements to RoomPlan - Video Quote 3:00: Here is the init and stop function in previous RoomPlan. And here is how you pass over a custom ARSession to init function. Any custom ARSession with ARWorldTrackingConfiguration will be honored inside RoomCaptureSession. anyway I welcome any input. maybe im doing something wrong. :)

Lidar sensor does not work on some Iphone 13 Pro
I am experience problem with three iPhone 13 Pro. They are reporting the lowest quality for all points in the depthmap from the Lidar sensor. The readings I get are unusable. If it was just one phone I would consider it a faulty sensor, but in this case it is three phones that gives the same result. I have other iPhone 13 Pro that works as expected. Have any else experienced a similar behavior? I am using iOS 18.4.1 https://developer.apple.com/documentation/avfoundation/avdepthdata/depthdataquality

Is it possible to raycast with PSVR2 controllers when developing in Unity for the Apple Vision Pro?
Hi all, I am currently developing a game in Unity for VisionOS and I'd prefer to use the PSVR2 controllers as a source of the raycast for menu selection instead of the default VisionOS gaze for my specific use case. Is there a way to access the IMU of PSVR2 controllers to do this instead of just using eyegaze + controller click for selection? Is there a specific configuration for GCController from within Unity maybe? Thank you!

I need to troubleshoot Transform Drift in ARKit
Hi all, I'm currently developing a real-time object reconstruction app using ARKit. The goal is to scan large objects using ARKit’s depth and transform data, and generate a point cloud. However, I’m facing a major challenge - Transform Drift / World Alignment Issues The localToWorld transform provided by ARKit frequently seems to drift or become unstable across frames. This results in misaligned point clouds even when the device is moved slowly or kept relatively still. In some cases, a static surface scanned over a few seconds results in clearly misaligned fragments. This makes it difficult to accurately stitch a multi-frame point cloud. I have experimented with various lighting conditions and object textures, but the issue persists in all cases. At times, the relative error between frames reaches up to 20 cm, while in other instances the error is minimal; however, the drift gradually accumulates over time, leading to an overall enlargement of the reconstructed object. I have attached images of both cases here. Questions: Are there specific conditions under which ARKit’s world transform is expected to drift? Is there a way to detect or recover from this drift during runtime? Any best practices for maintaining consistent tracking during scanning or measurement sessions?

I built apple.PHASE with Unity and targeted with visionOS, but Reverb does not sound.
Environment Versions ・macOS15.6.1 ・visionOS26.0.1 ・Xcode16.1 or 26.0.1 ・unity6000.2.9f1 ・Apple.core3.2.0 ・Apple.PHASE1.2.7 ・polyspatial2.4.2 With the above environment, after installing Apple.PHASE into unity and building to a visionOS device, Audio is available and distance attention works, but Early Reflection and Late Reverb produce no audible change even when checked and their parameters are adjusted. What is required to make Early Reflection and Late Reverb take effect on a visionOS device build? action taken ・created a SoundEvent. ・in composer, created a Sampler and a SpatialMixer; attached an AudioClip to the Sampler; enabled Direct Path, Early Reflection, and Late Reverb on the SpatialMixer. ・attached a PHASE Source to the object to be played, attached the created SoundEvent to it, and set non-zero values for Early Reflection and Late Reverb. ・attached a PHASE Listener to the mainCamera and set the ReverbPreset to a value other than None. ・in project settings > Audio, set Spatializer plugin to PHASE Spatializer. ・from there, build for visionOS.

RealityRenderer's Perspective Camera's FOV
Hi, I have been using RealityRenderer to render scenes in MacOS as spatial videos and view it in Vision Pro and it is awesome. I understand that it uses PerspectiveCamera to render. I wanted to know what is the default FOV for this camera and how much can we push it? I want to ideally render a scene with 180 degrees of fov. Thanks

how to transition between spatial3d to spatial3DImmersive?
Hi, When viewing a spatial photo scene on the Apple Vision Pro Photos app, you can tap on the immersive icon on the top right corner to transaction from the window presenting the image as spatial3d to an immersive photo scene with spatial3DImmersive where the window borders disappear. Could someone explain how to achieve that? I tried to do it but once I transition from spatial3d to spatial3DImmersive I can see still see a rectangle around the spatial image. Thanks.

Spatial-backdrop standards process
Apple's WWDC video What’s new for the spatial web says the spatial-backdrop markup may change as it goes through the standards process (at 27:26 mark). I have started adding spatial-backdrops to web pages, so I want to keep an eye out for status updates by Apple and follow the standards progress. Is there any place I can keep an eye on this standards process? Has Apple announced any feature updates or news on spatial-backdrops?

UIRequiredDeviceCapabilities values?
I've submitted my first AR app for iPhone and iPad to iTunes Connect. After sending a binary to iTunes Connect, I've received the following warning message. The app contains the following UIRequiredDeviceCapabilities values, which aren’t supported in visionOS: [arkit]. No. 1, my app doesn't support visionOS. No. 2, I don't have the UIRequiredDeviceCapabilities dictionary in info.plist. Why am I receiving this warning? One article related to this issue that I've read suggests that I remove the UIRequiredDeviceCapabilities dictionary. Well, I don't have it in my plist. What can I do with this warning message? Thanks.

Building a Full Space app that enables sharing a visionOS experience with nearby users.
Hello, I am currently considering developing a Full Space app that enables a shared visionOS experience with nearby users. Intended Features A Mixed Full Space app in which dozens of 3D models are placed in the space. These 3D models may play embedded animations when tapped, be programmatically moved or rotated, or be controlled via Reality Composer Pro timelines. The app also includes audio, spatial audio, videos with audio, and videos without audio, which are rendered as VideoTextures on planes and played back in the space. Some media elements play automatically, while others are triggered by user interaction. However, it is unclear whether AVPlaybackCoordinator supports shared playback across multiple types of media, such as: audio only spatial audio video without audio video with audio I am also unsure whether there are alternative or recommended approaches for synchronizing playback in this scenario. Questions Is it technically possible to implement the experience described above using visionOS? Are there any important implementation considerations or limitations that should be taken into account? For example, when two participants experience the app simultaneously, how is the content positioned for each participant? Is the spatial placement of content shared across participants, or is it positioned relative to each participant’s viewpoint? For nearby participants, is it necessary to register a spatial Persona? My understanding is that spatial Personas are not visible for nearby users during the experience; is this correct? When experiencing SharePlay with nearby users, is it possible to share the experience without registering the other participant’s contact information? I have watched the following session, but I was unable to fully understand the feasibility of the above use case or the concrete implementation details: https://developer.apple.com/videos/play/wwdc2025/318/ Thank you.

A Summary of the WWDC25 Group Lab - visionOS
At WWDC25 we launched a new type of Lab event for the developer community - Group Labs. A Group Lab is a panel Q&A designed for a large audience of developers. Group Labs are a unique opportunity for the community to submit questions directly to a panel of Apple engineers and designers. Here are the highlights from the WWDC25 Group Lab for visionOS. I saw that there is a new way to add SwiftUI View attachments in my RealityView, what advantages does this have over the old way? Attachments can now be added directly to your entities with ViewAttachmentComponent. The removes the need to declare your attachments upfront in your RealityView initializer and then add those attachments as child entities. The new approach provides greater flexibility. Canyon Crosser and Petite Asteroids both utilize the new approach. ManipulationComponent looks really cool! Right now my app has a series of complicated custom gestures. What gestures does it handle for me exactly, and are there any situations where I should prefer my own custom gestures? ManipulationComponent provides natural interaction with virtual objects. It seamlessly handles translation and rotation. You can easily add manipulation to a SwiftUI view like Model3D with the manipulable view modifier. The new Object Manipulation API is great for most apps, and is a breeze to implement, but sometimes you might want a more custom feel, and that’s ok! Custom gestures are still fully supported for that scenario. I saw that there is a new API to also access the right main camera. What can I do with this? Correct, in visionOS 26, you can access the left and right main cameras. You can even access them simultaneously as a stereo pair. Camera access still requires a managed entitlement and an enterprise license, see Accessing the main camera for more details about those requirements. More computer vision and machine learning use-cases are unlocked with access to both cameras, we are excited to see what you will do! What do I need to do to add spatial accessory input for my app? First, use the GameController framework to establish a connection with the spatial accessory, and then listen for events from the controller. Then, you can use either RealityKit, ARKit, or a combination of both to track the accessory, anchor virtual content to it, and fine tune the accessory interaction with the content in your app. For more details, check out Discovering and tracking spatial game controllers and styli. By far, the most difficulty with implementing visionOS apps is SwiftUI window management…placing, opening, closing, etc. Are there any improvements to window management in visionOS 26? Yes! We recommend watching Set the scene with SwiftUI in visionOS. You can use the defaultLaunchBehavior to choose whether a particular window is presented (or suppressed) at launch. You can also prevent a window like a secondary toolbar from launching as the initial window using .restorationBehavior(.disabled). Adopting best practices for persistent UI provides a great overview of SwiftUI window management on visionOS. As for placing windows, there is still no API for an app to specify the placement of its windows other than relative placement. If that is a feature you are interested in, please file an enhancement request for it using Feedback Assistant! How to get access to the Enterprise API? First, request the entitlement and license through your Apple Developer or enterprise account. Once these have been granted, include the license and entitlement in your project. Then you can build, test, and distribute as an in-house app.

visionOS 3d interactions like the native keyboard when no longer observed in passthrough
While using apple's vision pro, we noticed that we can continue to use the visionOS keyboard when we no longer actually see it in passthrough. In other words, when we focus on a field to type, visionOS displays the keyboard for us in such a way that we actually see it. Then, we noticed if we look away a little bit, either up, or down, or left, or right, in such a way that the keyboard is no longer visible by us in the passthrough, the keyboard still remains responsive to taps from our fingers at the location where it is. It seems the keyboard remains functional and responsive to taps even though we can no longer observe/see it. We are trying to figure out how to implement similar functionality in our app whereby the user can continue to manipulate a 3d entity when the user can no longer actually observe it in passthrough (like the visionOS keyboard appears to allow). I assume the visionOS keyboard has this functionality thanks to the downward facing sensors on the hardware that allow hand tracking even though the hands can no longer be observed by the user. That is likely how we can rest our hands on our lap is still be able to interact with visionOS. How can we implement a similar functionality for 3D entities? Is there a way to tap in, or to allow hand tracking, from those toward facing cameras? Is it possible to manipulate a 3D entity when it is no longer observed by the user for example when they shift their attention somewhere else in the field of vision? How does the visionOS keyboard achieve this?

Depth matrix accuracy with the iPhone 14 Pro and Lidar
Hello Community, I’m currently working with the sample code “CapturingDepthUsingTheLiDARCamera” and using it to capture the depth map of an image taken with the iPhone 14 Pro. From this depth map, I generate a point cloud using the intrinsic camera parameters. I've noticed that objects not facing the camera directly appear distorted in the resulting point cloud. For example: An object with surfaces that are perpendicular to each other appears with a sharper angle in the point cloud — around 60° instead of 90°. My question is: Is this due to the general accuracy limitations of the LiDAR sensor? Or could it be related to the sample code? To obtain the depth map, I’m using: AVCapturePhoto.depthData.converting(toDepthDataType: kCVPixelFormatType_DepthFloat32) Thanks in advance for your help!

ARKit / visionOS - handtracking with 3D objects attached on hand
I use ARKit's hand tracking to attach a 3D model of a remote control to the left hand. The user is supposed to press buttons on the remote control. In the Vision Pro settings, I have removed the left hand from Hands & Eye Tracking. Only the right hand is used. The problem now is that the left hand appears and the 3D model of the remote control fades out. I want the remote control to be completely visible. The user should feel like they really have the remote control in their hand. Can I prevent the fading out?

How to speed up build time when placing large USDZ files in RCP scenes
I’m currently developing a visionOS app that includes an RCP scene with a large USDZ file (around 2GB). Each time I make adjustments to the CG model in Blender, I export it as USDZ again, place it in the RCP scene, and then build the app using Xcode. However, because the USDZ file is quite large, the build process takes a long time, significantly slowing down my development speed. For example, I’d like to know if there are any effective ways to: Improve overall build performance Reduce the time between updating the USDZ file and completing the build Any advice or best practices for optimizing this workflow would be greatly appreciated. Best regards, Sadao

Summon gesture
Can you help to write a code able to pick an element a bit far from me, then bring it near to me, flick it a bit and then send it back to its original position when I release it? Thanks a lot, Christophe
