For a third year, no screenshot capability for immersive visionOS apps... here's a workaround?
Since only the user can take a screenshot using the Apple Vision Pro's top buttons, the only workaround available to an immersive app that needs a screenshot to document the user's creative interior design choices is ask the user to take a screenshot wait until the user taps a button indicating the screenshot has been taken then the app asks the user to select the screenshot when the app opens the PhotoPicker when the user presses Done, the screenshot is handed off to the app. One wonders why there is no Apple Api for doing this in a simple privacy protective way such as: When called, the Apple api captures the screenshot in Apple secured memory The api displays the screenshot to the user with appropriate privacy warnings and asks if the user wants to a. share this screenshot with the app, or b. cancel, c. retake the screenshot If the user approves, the app receives the screenshot

Help Configuring Unity for Immersive VR on Vision Pro with Pinch Teleport
How do I configure a Unity project for a fully immersive VR app on Apple Vision Pro using Metal Rendering, and add a simple pinch-to-teleport-where-looking feature? I've tried the available samples and docs, but they don't cover this clearly (to me). So far, I've reviewed Unity XR docs, Apple dev guides, and tutorials, but most emphasize spatial apps. Metal examples exist but don't include teleportation. Specifically: visionOS sample "XRI_SimpleRig" – Deploys to device/simulator, but no full immersion or teleport. XRI Toolkit sample "XR Origin Hands (XR Rig)" – Pinch gestures detect, but not linked to movement. visionOS "XR Plugin" sample "Metal Sample URP" – Metal setup works, but static scene without locomotion. I'm new in Unity XR development and would appreciate a simple, standalone scene or document focused only on the essentials for "teleport to gaze on pinch" in VR mode—no extra features. I do have some experience in unreal, world toolkit, cosmo, etc from the 90's and I'm ok with code. Please include steps for: Setting up immersive VR (disabling spatial defaults if needed). Integrating pinch detection with ray-based teleport. Any config changes or basic scripts. AVPlayer stutters when using AVPlayerItemVideoOutput
We’re trying to build a custom player for Unity. For this, we’re using AVPlayer with AVPlayerItemVideoOutput to get textures. However, we noticed that playback is not smooth and the stream often freezes. Collision Detection Fails After Anchoring ModelEntity to Hand in VisionOS
I'm starting my journey in developing an immersive app for VisionOS. I've been making steady progress, but I've encountered a specific challenge that I haven't been able to resolve. I created two ModelEntity objects — a sphere and a cube — and added a DragGesture to the cube. When I drag the cube over the sphere, the two collide correctly, and the collision is logged in the console. So far, everything works as expected. However, when I try to anchor the cube to my hand, the collision stops working. It's as if the cube loses its ability to detect collisions once it's anchored. Any guidance or clarification on this behavior would be greatly appreciated. //  ImmersiveView.swift //  estudos_vision // //  Created by Lailan Rogerio Rodrigues Matos on 15/05/25. // import SwiftUI import RealityKit import RealityKitContent struct ImmersiveView: View { @Environment(AppModel.self) var appModel @State private var session: SpatialTrackingSession? @State private var box = ModelEntity() @State private var subs: [EventSubscription] = [] @State private var ballEntity: Entity? var body: some View { RealityView { content in // Load initial content from the RealityKit scene. if let immersiveContentEntity = try? await Entity(named: "Immersive", in: realityKitContentBundle) { content.add(immersiveContentEntity) } // Create and run a spatial tracking session. let session = SpatialTrackingSession() let configuration = SpatialTrackingSession.Configuration(tracking: [.hand]) _ = await session.run(configuration) self.session = session // Create a red box. let boxMesh = MeshResource.generateBox(size: 0.2) let material = SimpleMaterial(color: .red, isMetallic: false) box = ModelEntity(mesh: boxMesh, materials: [material]) box.position.y += 0.15 // Position the box slightly above the origin. // Configure the box for user interaction and physics. box.components.set(InputTargetComponent(allowedInputTypes: .indirect)) // Make it interactive. box.generateCollisionShapes(recursive: false) // Generate collision shapes for physics. box.components.set(PhysicsBodyComponent( // Add physics behavior. massProperties: .default, material: .default, mode: .kinematic // Use kinematic mode so it can be moved by user interaction. )) box.components.set(GroundingShadowComponent(castsShadow: true)) // Add a shadow. //content.add(box) //commented out to add to hand anchor // Create a left hand anchor and add the box as a child. let handAnchor = AnchorEntity(.hand(.left, location: .palm), trackingMode: .continuous) handAnchor.addChild(box) content.add(handAnchor) // Add the hand anchor to the scene. // Create a sphere. let ball = ModelEntity(mesh: .generateSphere(radius: 0.15)) ball.position = [0.0, 1.5, -1.0] // Initial position of the ball. ball.generateCollisionShapes(recursive: false) // Add collision. ball.name = "Sphere" content.add(ball) ballEntity = ball // Subscribe to collision events between the box and other entities. let event = content.subscribe(to: CollisionEvents.Began.self, on: box) { ce in print("Collision between \(ce.entityA.name) and \(ce.entityB.name) occurred") //ce.entityA.removeFromParent() // removes the colliding object //ce.entityB.removeFromParent() } Task { subs.append(event) } } // Add a drag gesture to the box, allowing the user to move it. .gesture( DragGesture() .targetedToEntity(box) // Target the drag gesture to the box. .onChanged({ value in // Update the position of the box based on the drag gesture. box.position = value.convert(value.location3D, from: .local, to: box.parent!) }) ) } } #Preview(immersionStyle: .full) { ImmersiveView() .environment(AppModel()) }

Can developers use spatial image in third App's Spatial widget
Spatial widget is a new feature of visionos 26. I notice The system’s Photo app can add a Spatial Image in the widget. I wonder if third apps can use spatial image or any 3D content in it's widget? I try to use RealityView in widget and it run with a crash. So does spatial Image in widget only supported by the system Photo app, and not available to developers now?

mipmapsMode trade-off?
I am building a 360 photo viewer in VisionOS 26. Which allows the user to choose a 2 by 1 jpg and then renders it with a sphere mesh entity. And I use: TextureResource(contentsOf: url, options: options). I noticed two situations here in terms of mipmaps options. When setting "mipmapsMode: .none": The graphic quality within the "gaze area" looks sharp and clear The two poles (top and bottom) are perfectly rendered Massive shimmer around the "gaze area" When setting "mipmapsMode: .allocateAndGenerateAll": The graphic looks slightly blurrier than in ".none" within the "gaze area" The two poles are very blurry and hard to recognize the texture Much less shimmer around the "gaze area" My question would be: Is there a way to have the perfect graphic quality in ".none" without the massive shimmer? Thank you! Screenshots: mipmapsMode: .none mipmapsMode: .allocateAndGenerateAll

How to use defaultSize with visionOS window restoration?
One of the most common ways to provide a window size in visionOS is to use the defaultSize scene modifier. WindowGroup(id: "someID") { SomeView() } .defaultSize(CGSize(width: 600, height: 600)) Starting in visionOS 26, using this has a side effect. visionOS 26 will restore windows that have been locked in place or snapped to surfaces. If a user has manually adjusted the size of a locked/snapped window, the users size is only restore in some cases. Manual resize respected Leaving a room and returning later Taking the headset off and putting it back on later Manual resize NOT respected Device restart. In this case, the window is reopened where it was locked, but the size is set back to the values passed to defaultSize. The manual resizing adjustments the user has made are lost. This is counter to how all other windows and widgets work. I reported this last month (FB18429638), but haven't heard back if this is a bug or intended behavior. Questions What is the best way to provide a default window size that will only be used when opening new windows–and not used during scene restoration? Should we try to keep track of window size after users adjust them and save that somewhere? If this is intended behavior, can someone please update the docs accordingly?

Material showing only half?
Hi, I'm currently implementing 180° / 360° property for immersive video in my app. I was able to implement 360° easily by just giving VideoMaterial to flipped sphere. However, I'm bit stuck at 180°. I want to implement by setting VideoMaterial to hemisphere mesh. But since RealityKit doesn't provide default function such like MeshResource.generateHemisphere yet, I just want to apply VideoMaterial half front visible, and half back transparent. I thought this would make my sphere looks like hemisphere. But I can't find my way to implement this method.. I would appreciate any advice / idea / information that might help.

visionOS pushWindow being dismissed on app foreground
We seen to have found an issue when using the pushWindow action on visionOS. The issue occurs if the app is backgrounded then reopened by selecting the apps icon on the home screen. Any window that is opened via the pushWindow action is then dismissed. We've been able to replicate the issue in a small sample project. Replication steps Open app Open window via the push action Press the digital crown On the home screen select the apps icon again The pushed window will now be dismissed. There is a sample project linked here that shows off the issue, including a video of the bug in progress

visionOS 2.0 – Persist room‑fixed RealityKit entities on walls across app launches (WorldAnchor?)
I want to let users place 2D/3D “artworks” on detected walls and have them reappear in exactly the same real‑world spot after quitting and relaunching the app (like widgets do, but for my own entities).Environment: Xcode 26, visionOS 2.0, RealityKit + ARKitSession/WorldTrackingProvider Entities are parented to a holder that’s aligned to a wall via plane/mesh raycasts What I’ve tried: Create a WorldAnchor at placement, save UUID + full 4×4 transform On next launch, re-create the WorldAnchor (or set the saved transform) and attach the entity Gate restore on relocalization/mesh updates and disable all raycast/search after restore Issue: After relaunch, placement still resolves relative to current device pose, not the same wall position. Questions: Is there a public API in visionOS 2.0 to persist app‑managed world anchors across sessions (room‑fixed), e.g., AnchorStore or equivalent? If not, what’s the recommended pattern to reliably restore wall‑anchored content? Are persistence features mentioned for widgets/windows available to third‑party RealityKit entities?

Accessing pupil diameter in visionOS
Previously I had developed software using SMI eye trackers, both screen mounted and their mobile glasses, for unique therapeutic and physiology applications. Sadly, after SMI was bought by Apple, their hardware and software have been taken off the market and now it is very difficult to get secondhand-market systems. The Apple Vision Pro integrates the SMI hardware. While I can use ARKit to get gaze position, I do not see a way to access information that was previously made accessible on the SMI hardware, particularly: dwell time and pupil diameter information. I am hopeful (or asking) to see that if a user has a properly set up Optic ID and would opt-in if, either on the present or a future version of visionOS, it might be possible to get access to the data streams for dwell times and pupil diameter. Pupil diameter is particularly important as it is a very good physiological measure of how much stress a person is encountering, which is critical to some of the therapeutic applications that formerly we used SMI hardware. Any ideas, or, if this is not possible, proposing this to the visionOS team would be appreciated!

Where can we access the new enterprise license files mentioned in the WWDC session?
Hi everyone, I’m trying to verify something mentioned in the WWDC session “Explore enhancements to your spatial business app.” At timestamp 3:36, the presenter states: “You can now access your enterprise license files directly within your Apple Developer account.” I’ve checked every section of my Developer account, including: • Membership and Agreements • Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles • App Store Connect • Additional Resources • Account settings …but no UI or section exposes these enterprise license files. Since the Vision Entitlement Services framework actively checks these licenses (for example, mainCameraAccess entitlement approval), I need to confirm the location of the new license file. Could someone from Apple or anyone who has seen this feature clarify: 1. Where exactly do these enterprise license files appear in the Developer account UI, or 2. Whether this feature has not rolled out yet? Any guidance or screenshots from those who have access would be invaluable. Thanks,

How to Achieve Volumetric Lighting (Light Shafts) in RealityKit on visionOS?
Hello everyone, I am currently developing an experience for visionOS using RealityKit and I would like to achieve volumetric light effects, such as visible light rays or shafts through fog or dust. I found this GitHub project: https://github.com/robcupisz/LightShafts, which demonstrates the kind of visual style I am aiming for. I would like to know if there is a way to create similar effects using RealityKit on visionOS. So far, I have experimented with DirectionalLight, SpotLight, ImageBasedLight, and custom materials (e.g., additive blending on translucent meshes), but none of these approaches can replicate the volumetric light shaft look shown in the repository above. Questions: Is there a recommended technique or workaround in RealityKit to simulate light shafts or volumetric lighting? Is creating a custom mesh (e.g., cone or volume geometry with gradient alpha and additive blending) the only feasible method? Are there any examples, best practices, or sample projects from Apple or other developers that showcase a similar visual style? Any advice or hints would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

how to transition between spatial3d to spatial3DImmersive?
Hi, When viewing a spatial photo scene on the Apple Vision Pro Photos app, you can tap on the immersive icon on the top right corner to transaction from the window presenting the image as spatial3d to an immersive photo scene with spatial3DImmersive where the window borders disappear. Could someone explain how to achieve that? I tried to do it but once I transition from spatial3d to spatial3DImmersive I can see still see a rectangle around the spatial image. Thanks.

Collision Detection Fails After Anchoring ModelEntity to Hand in VisionOS
I'm starting my journey in developing an immersive app for VisionOS. I've been making steady progress, but I've encountered a specific challenge that I haven't been able to resolve. I created two ModelEntity objects — a sphere and a cube — and added a DragGesture to the cube. When I drag the cube over the sphere, the two collide correctly, and the collision is logged in the console. So far, everything works as expected. However, when I try to anchor the cube to my hand, the collision stops working. It's as if the cube loses its ability to detect collisions once it's anchored. Any guidance or clarification on this behavior would be greatly appreciated. //  ImmersiveView.swift //  estudos_vision // //  Created by Lailan Rogerio Rodrigues Matos on 15/05/25. // import SwiftUI import RealityKit import RealityKitContent struct ImmersiveView: View { @Environment(AppModel.self) var appModel @State private var session: SpatialTrackingSession? @State private var box = ModelEntity() @State private var subs: [EventSubscription] = [] @State private var ballEntity: Entity? var body: some View { RealityView { content in // Load initial content from the RealityKit scene. if let immersiveContentEntity = try? await Entity(named: "Immersive", in: realityKitContentBundle) { content.add(immersiveContentEntity) } // Create and run a spatial tracking session. let session = SpatialTrackingSession() let configuration = SpatialTrackingSession.Configuration(tracking: [.hand]) _ = await session.run(configuration) self.session = session // Create a red box. let boxMesh = MeshResource.generateBox(size: 0.2) let material = SimpleMaterial(color: .red, isMetallic: false) box = ModelEntity(mesh: boxMesh, materials: [material]) box.position.y += 0.15 // Position the box slightly above the origin. // Configure the box for user interaction and physics. box.components.set(InputTargetComponent(allowedInputTypes: .indirect)) // Make it interactive. box.generateCollisionShapes(recursive: false) // Generate collision shapes for physics. box.components.set(PhysicsBodyComponent( // Add physics behavior. massProperties: .default, material: .default, mode: .kinematic // Use kinematic mode so it can be moved by user interaction. )) box.components.set(GroundingShadowComponent(castsShadow: true)) // Add a shadow. //content.add(box) //commented out to add to hand anchor // Create a left hand anchor and add the box as a child. let handAnchor = AnchorEntity(.hand(.left, location: .palm), trackingMode: .continuous) handAnchor.addChild(box) content.add(handAnchor) // Add the hand anchor to the scene. // Create a sphere. let ball = ModelEntity(mesh: .generateSphere(radius: 0.15)) ball.position = [0.0, 1.5, -1.0] // Initial position of the ball. ball.generateCollisionShapes(recursive: false) // Add collision. ball.name = "Sphere" content.add(ball) ballEntity = ball // Subscribe to collision events between the box and other entities. let event = content.subscribe(to: CollisionEvents.Began.self, on: box) { ce in print("Collision between \(ce.entityA.name) and \(ce.entityB.name) occurred") //ce.entityA.removeFromParent() // removes the colliding object //ce.entityB.removeFromParent() } Task { subs.append(event) } } // Add a drag gesture to the box, allowing the user to move it. .gesture( DragGesture() .targetedToEntity(box) // Target the drag gesture to the box. .onChanged({ value in // Update the position of the box based on the drag gesture. box.position = value.convert(value.location3D, from: .local, to: box.parent!) }) ) } } #Preview(immersionStyle: .full) { ImmersiveView() .environment(AppModel()) }

Logitech Muse API?
Hello, I've pre-ordered the Logitech Muse with hopes of developing with it, but have yet to find any documentation relating to the capabilities it will have/any APIs that will be available to take advantage of the Muse. Is anyone aware of what might become available? Thank you in advance.

mipmapsMode trade-off?

Thanks.
