macOS 26 Games app – Achievement description shows incorrect text before unlocking
Hello, I found an issue with the Games app on macOS 26 (Tahoe) when viewing achievements: In App Store Connect, each achievement has different values set for the pre-earned description and the post-earned description. When testing with GameKit directly (GKAchievementDescription), both values are returned correctly. However, in the macOS Games app, the post-earned description is shown even before the achievement is earned. This seems to be a display issue specific to the Games app on macOS. Could you confirm if this is a known bug in the Games app, or if there is a reason why pre-earned descriptions are not being shown? Thank you.

RealityKit fails with EXC_BAD_ACCESS at CMClockGetAnchorTime in the simulator
Starting with iOS 18.0 beta 1, I've noticed that RealityKit frequently crashes in the simulator when an app launches and presents an ARView. I was able to create a small sample app with repro steps that demonstrates the issue, and I've submitted feedback: FB16144085 I've included a crash log with the feedback. If possible, I'd appreciate it if an Apple engineer could investigate and suggest a workaround. It's awkward to be restricted to the iOS 17 simulator, which does not exhibit this behavior. Please let me know if there's anything I can do to help. Thank you.

Regression: RealityKit spatial audio crackles and pops on iOS 26.0 beta 5 (FB19423059)
RealityKit spatial audio crackles and pops on iOS 26.0 beta 5. It works correctly on iOS 18.6 and visionOS 26.0 beta 5. The APIs used are AudioPlaybackController, Entity.prepareAudio, Entity.play Videos of the expected and observed behavior are attached to the feedback FB19423059. The audio should be a consistent, repeating sound, but it seems oddly abbreviated and the volume varies unexpectedly. Thank you for investigating this issue.

Metal and Swift Concurrency
Hi, Introducing Swift Concurrency to my Metal app has been a bit challenging as Swift Concurrency is limited by the cooperative thread pool. GPU work is obviously not CPU bound and can block forward moving progress, especially when using waitUntilCompleted on the command buffer. For concurrent render work this has the potential of under utilizing the CPU and even creating dead locks. My question is, what is the Metal's teams general recommendation when it comes to concurrency? It seems to me that Dispatch or OperationQueues are still the preferred way for Metal bound tasks in order to gain maximum performance? To integrate with Swift Concurrency my idea is to use continuations that kick off render jobs via Dispatch or Queues? Would this be the best solution to bridge async tasks with Metal work? Thanks!

MetalFX for Unity 2022.3.62f3?
Hi, I’m testing Unity’s Spaceship HDRP demo on iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPad Pro M4 (iOS 26.1). Everything renders correctly, and my custom MetalFX Spatial plugin initializes successfully — it briefly reports active scaling (e.g. 1434×660 → 2868×1320 at 50% scaling), then reverts to native rendering a few frames later. Setup: Xcode 16.1 (targeting iOS 18) Unity 2022.3.62f3 (HDRP) Metal backend Dynamic Resolution enabled in HDRP assets and cameras Relevant Xcode console excerpt: [MetalFXPlugin] MetalFX_Enable(True) called. [SpaceshipOptions] MetalFX enabled with HDRP dynamic resolution integration. [SpaceshipOptions] Disabled TAA for MetalFX Spatial. [SpaceshipOptions] Created runtime RenderTexture: 1434x660 [MetalFX] Spatial scaler created (1434x660 → 2868x1320). [MetalFX] Processed frame with scaler. [MetalFXPlugin] Sent RenderTexture (1434x660) to MetalFX. Output target 2868x1320. [SpaceshipOptions] MetalFX target set: 1434x660 [SpaceshipOptions] Camera targetTexture cleared after MetalFX handoff. It looks like HDRP clears the camera’s target texture right after MetalFX submits the frame, which causes it to revert to native rendering. Is there a recommended way to persist or rebind the MetalFX output texture when using HDRP on iOS? Unity doesn’t appear to support MetalFX in the Editor either: Thanks!

Game Center Challenges and Activities are not appearing
Hi, I'm trying to add game center challenges and activities to an already live game, but they are not appearing in game for testing, GameCenter, or the Games app. I know the game is setup with GameKit entitlements since this is a live game and it has working leaderboards and achievements. I've updated to Tahoe beta 8, added a challenge and activity on app store connect, added that to a new distribution and added that distribution to 'Add for Review' I'm using Unity and the Apple Unity plugin Not sure what other steps I'm missing Thanks

How to customize shader code for visionos ?
Hello experts, I'm trying to implement a material with custom shader code, but I saw that visionOS doesn't allow you to inject custom Metal functions or use CustomMaterial like iOS/macOS, nor can you directly write Metal Shading Language (.metal) and use it through ShaderGraphMaterial. So my question is, if i want to implement your own shader code, how should i do it?

Improving person segmentation and occlusion quality in RealityKit
I’m building an app that uses RealityKit and specifically ARConfiguration.FrameSemantics.personSegmentationWithDepth. The goal is to insert an AR object into the scene behind a person, and an additional AR object in front of the person, while being as photo realistic as possible. Through testing, I’ve noticed that many times, the edges of the person segmentation mask are not well matched to the actual person, and parts of the person are transparent, with the AR object bleeding through. It’s sort of like a “bad green screen” effect, which I’d expect to see a little bit, but not to this extent. I’ve been testing on iPhone 16, iPhone 14 Pro, iPad Pro 12.9 inch 6th Generation, and iPhone 12 Pro, with similar results across all devices. I’m wondering what else I can do to improve this… either code changes, platform (like different iPhone models), or environment (like lighting, distance, etc). Attaching some example screen grabs and a minimum reproducible code sample. Appreciate any insights! import ARKit import SwiftUI import RealityKit struct RealityViewContainer: UIViewRepresentable { func makeUIView(context: Context) -> ARView { let arView = ARView(frame: .zero) arView.environment.sceneUnderstanding.options.insert(.occlusion) arView.renderOptions.insert(.disableMotionBlur) arView.renderOptions.insert(.disableDepthOfField) let configuration = ARWorldTrackingConfiguration() configuration.planeDetection = [.horizontal] if ARWorldTrackingConfiguration.supportsFrameSemantics(.personSegmentationWithDepth) { configuration.frameSemantics.insert(.personSegmentationWithDepth) } arView.session.run(configuration) arView.session.delegate = context.coordinator context.coordinator.arView = arView } func makeCoordinator() -> Coordinator { Coordinator(self) } class Coordinator: NSObject, ARSessionDelegate { var parent: RealityViewContainer var floorAnchor: ARPlaneAnchor? init(_ parent: RealityViewContainer) { self.parent = parent } func session(_ session: ARSession, didAdd anchors: [ARAnchor]) { if let arView, floorAnchor == nil { for anchor in anchors { if let horizontalPlaneAnchor = anchor as? screencapturekit
I have code that captures a window and displays a cropped image. The problem is 2 fold. Kit doesn't seem to allow to modify stop and recapture image in window mode to capture a portion of the screen. Custom Cameras in RealityKit
Hi all, I've developed some code that enables an arcball camera interaction with my scene. I've done this using components and systems. The implementation feels a bit messy as I've got gesture code on my realityView, and then a bunch of other code that uses those gesture inputs in my component and system. Is there a demo app, or some example code that shows a nice way to encapsulate these things in to one item for custom cameras, something like Apple's .realityViewCameraControls(.orbit) If not can anyone recommend an approach to take?

I even tried sending an invite from Apple Game Center to friends and Krazy Krownz doesn’t even show up on the list of available multiplayer games. I’ve signed out and back in the same issue remain. I’ve try to contact the game developer, but the website doesn’t work.

Achievement Banners Not always Showing
When running on my iPhone SE3 under IOS 18.4.1, achievement banners show as expected. The same code running on my iPad Air2 under IOS 15.8.4, achievement banners do not show, but they are accepted (as shown in the GameCenterViewController). The banners also don't show when running the simulator under iPhone 16 Pro Max under IOS 18.2 or simulator under iPhone SE3 under IOS 18.3. I haven't tried others. [Note that I clear the achievements each run during test so that I can duplicate this]

Here is a code fragment: int CDib_ARGB::Load(LPCSTR pFilename) { int rc = 0; if (NULL == m_pRaw_vImage_Buffer) { NSString *pNS_filename = [[NSString alloc]initWithUTF8String:pFilename]; NSImage *pNSImage = [[NSImage alloc] initWithContentsOfFile:pNS_filename]; if (nil == pNSImage) rc = -1; else { int width = pNSImage.size.width; int height = pNSImage.size.height; if (pNSImage.representations) { NSImageRep *imageRep; int jj; width = 0; height = 0; for (jj = 0; jj < pNSImage.representations.count; jj++) { imageRep = pNSImage.representations[jj]; if (imageRep.pixelsWide > width) width = imageRep.pixelsWide; if (imageRep.pixelsHigh > height) height = imageRep.pixelsHigh; } } NSSize imageSize = NSMakeSize(width, height); NSRect imageRect = NSMakeRect(0, 0, width, height); pNSImage.size = imageSize; CGImageRef cgImage = [pNSImage CGImageForProposedRect:&imageRect context:NULL hints:nil]; if (nil == cgImage) rc = -1; else { //Alloc and load vImage_Buffer. vImage_Buffer *pvImage_Buffer = new vImage_Buffer; if (NULL == pvImage_Buffer) rc = -1; else { vImage_CGImageFormat format; format.bitsPerComponent = 8; format.bitsPerPixel = 32; format.colorSpace = nil; format.bitmapInfo = kCGImageAlphaFirst | kCGBitmapByteOrderDefault;//ARGB8888 format.version = 0; format.decode = nil; format.renderingIntent = kCGRenderingIntentDefault; memset(pvImage_Buffer, 0, sizeof(vImage_Buffer)); long status = vImageBuffer_InitWithCGImage(pvImage_Buffer, &format, nil, cgImage, kvImagePrintDiagnosticsToConsole); if (kvImageNoError != status) { //This is where Xcode 26 sends me. delete pvImage_Buffer; rc = -1; } =========================

Any way to save metrics presets as preferences in Metal HUD 4 on macOS?
I mean…I want to use defaults rather than launching apps via open with the saved environment variables. This is pretty easy on iOS and other platforms. So what about in macOS?

Custom Cameras in RealityKit
Hi all, I've developed some code that enables an arcball camera interaction with my scene. I've done this using components and systems. The implementation feels a bit messy as I've got gesture code on my realityView, and then a bunch of other code that uses those gesture inputs in my component and system. Is there a demo app, or some example code that shows a nice way to encapsulate these things in to one item for custom cameras, something like Apple's .realityViewCameraControls(.orbit) If not can anyone recommend an approach to take?

I just got the new iOS 26 beta, and I LOVE the games app, but it show all of my games, even from years back. Is there a way to remove games from your library on the app?

Krazy Krownz multiplayer option not working for Game Center!
When trying to play with friends Krazy Krownz doesn’t allow me to click multiplayer even though my Apple Game Center connected and my friends Apple game center connected as well.
