I have been experiencing an ongoing Siri / Apple Intelligence issue since the iOS 27 beta versions. The problem has continued through multiple beta releases and still remains unresolved even after updating to the official release of iOS 27.
My current language configuration is:
- iPhone system language: English (US)
- Siri language: English (US)
Both are set to the same US English language environment.
The main symptoms are as follows:
- In Settings, Siri / Apple Intelligence remains stuck on:
“Adding support for Siri is in progress”
This status can remain for a very long time and never completes normally.
- When the iPhone is connected to a charger, Siri / Apple Intelligence sometimes appears to have completed downloading, and Siri may temporarily become available.
However, once I disconnect the charger, the system may immediately return to a state where additional Siri resources need to be downloaded, or Siri becomes unavailable again.
This is one of the most consistent and unusual symptoms of the issue.
- When using cellular data, the system may say that Wi-Fi is required to continue downloading Siri resources.
However, after connecting to Wi-Fi, it simply returns to:
“Adding support for Siri is in progress”
and never actually finishes.
- The Siri app may directly display:
“Siri is not available”
- I have also tried switching between different Siri modes.
Even when using the older Siri experience, the system may still continue showing:
“Adding support for Siri is in progress”
The newer Siri interface is also available on the device, but the required resources or models never appear to complete activation properly.
- Apple Intelligence storage usage has also behaved abnormally.
At one point, iPhone Storage showed approximately 7.37 GB being used by Apple Intelligence.
Later, the Apple Intelligence storage entry disappeared completely and the occupied storage space decreased.
After changing language settings again, the approximately 7.37 GB Apple Intelligence storage usage reappeared.
This makes it appear that the Siri / Apple Intelligence local assets may be repeatedly downloaded, removed, invalidated, or not correctly recognized by the system after downloading.
- I have already tried extensive troubleshooting, including:
- Different Wi-Fi networks
- Cellular data
- Disabling VPN and proxy services
- Changing system language
- Changing Siri language
- Setting both system language and Siri language to English (US)
- Removing previously used additional languages
- Restarting the iPhone
- Resetting All Settings
- Updating iOS through Recovery Mode
- Updating through multiple iOS 27 beta versions
- Updating from iOS 27 beta to the official iOS 27 release
- Leaving the iPhone connected to Wi-Fi and power for extended periods
None of these steps has provided a permanent solution.
Sometimes Siri suddenly starts working again without any clear reason, but the issue later returns.
Because of this, I do not consider the temporary recovery to be a real fix.
The most important behavior is:
When the iPhone is connected to power, Siri / Apple Intelligence may appear to be fully downloaded or temporarily functional.
After disconnecting the charger, the system may again report that Siri resources still need to be downloaded, or Siri becomes unavailable.
This issue started during the iOS 27 beta period and has continued all the way to the official release of iOS 27.
Normal software updates have not resolved it.
Based on the behavior, I suspect this may not simply be a network download failure. It may involve the local Siri / Apple Intelligence asset state, asset verification, background asset download services, or device-side activation/configuration.
I would like Apple to confirm the following:
-
Is this a known issue in iOS 27?
-
Is there an existing internal bug report or Feedback ID related to this behavior?
-
Has this issue been addressed in iOS 27.1, iOS 27.2, or any later build?
-
Is there a supported solution that does not require erasing the entire iPhone or performing a full factory reset?
-
Is there any way to force the device to completely re-download, re-register, or revalidate the Siri / Apple Intelligence assets and local models?
I would strongly prefer not to erase the iPhone because the device contains a large amount of data, applications, account configurations, eSIM settings, and other information that is currently working normally.
This issue has existed since the iOS 27 beta versions and remains unresolved on the official iOS 27 release despite extensive troubleshooting.
I would appreciate it if this issue could be escalated to the appropriate engineering team for further investigation.
