My Developer ID certificate will expire in few days, so I downloaded and installed new certificate in login keychain. However my key is still linked to my old certificate. I have my .p12 but even if I delete the old certificate from login keychain and reinstall the .12 file, my old certificate reappears in the login keychain. I tried to select the new certificate in the login keychain and choose Files > Export Items (in Keychain Access) but in the Save dialog under File Format the "Personal Information Exchange (.p12)" option is grayed out. How can I generate a key/.p12 file that will be linked to my new certificate?

Hi, I recently created and installed new code signing certificates/keys on my main Mac. How to easily copy these certificates/keys to my another Mac with the same Apple ID? Earlier Quinn suggested: "The easiest way to do this is use Xcode’s import/export feature. Launch Xcode, choose Xcode > Settings, select Accounts, select the account in question, then choose Export Apple ID and Code Signing Assets from the action (…) menu." And it worked fine in 2020-2021. However import/export options are no longer available in XCode 16 anymore. Please suggest a simple solution.

I've already submitted multiple cases about this issue. My Family Controls Distribution request was apparently approved (or I was told via Developer Support) for my Device Activity extension, but the Distribution option still does not appear in the identifier. Dears, this is my first ever piece of code on Mac. I wanted to try ShazamKit. I created App Id and enabled App Service ShazamKit. I properly configured my app (a very small test app) with the proper boundle id, Team and entitlements file. I keep receiving this error in the Signing in section: Automatic signing failed Xcode failed to provision this target. Please address the following issues preventing automatic signing from creating a valid profile. Entitlement com.apple.developer.shazamkit not found and could not be included in profile. This likely is not a valid entitlement and should be removed from your entitlements file I noticed the message is mentioning "profile"...does it refer to a "Profile" as in "Certificate"/"Identifiers"/"Devices"/"Profiles"/"Keys"/"Services" option? I have been updating some NSXPCConnection code in my macOS 26 app (not sandboxed) to use XPCSession and friends instead. And it is working well and the experience has been generally good. But I have run into a problem when using XPCSession.setPeerRequirement() which I really want to use. It works well when I use something simple like XPCPeerRequirement.isFromSameTeam() but I want to check some more requirements and also use the code from multiple apps (but same team). That is, I want to check for multiple identifiers and team ID and version (and perhaps also in the future that the certificate is a Developer ID). And previously I would use SecRequirementCreateWithString with an entitlement string conceptually like this: var entitlement = "anchor apple generic and (" entitlement += "identifier idA" entitlement += " or identifier idB" entitlement += ")" entitlement += " and certificate leaf[subject.OU] = TeamID" entitlement += #" and info [CFBundleShortVersionString] >= "1.0""# and it works just as it should when creating and using that SecRequirement so I don't think that there is anything particularly wrong with the entitlement. And I had hoped that I could use the same string with XPCPeerRequirement.hasEntitlement(entitlement) but it doesn't work (I get a general "Peer forbidden" error). So I think that I don't really understand what sort of entitlement that hasEntitlement() wants. And also I don't really understand the other ways available to create a XPCPeerRequirement. I have also tried to use a XPCDictionary with XPCPeerRequirement(lightweightCodeRequirements:) but I can't get that to work either (and it seems a bit wrong to have to drop down to use e.g. xpc_object_t with new modern API:s). So my question is: is it possible to create a XPCPeerRequirement with an entitlement like above and, in that case, how? Or is there some other work-around to use XPCSession.setPeerRequirement() with a more complex requirement, e.g. is there a way to combine multiple XPCPeerRequirements into one? I have been approved for family controls entitlements and see them in my apple certificates for my bundle identifier. I see them listed for Distribution in my Runner, however, when I try to distribute I get the error that I do not have the right permissions. Do I need to get the entitlements for each extension I have as well? I have three extensions that use the family controls.

In the Developer portal, I'm attempting to add the "DriverKit UserClient Access" to an App ID that is assigned to a DEXT that we are developing. Once I have filled out the form and clicked "Submit" the screen goes bank and stays blank even after a long delay. The original Capability Request tab's entry for "DriverKit UserClient Access" never changes from "No Requests". I have tried this on two successive days, with the same result.

Our app .dmg file was successfully code signed. We then revised the app and created a new .dmg. Running codesign gave an "app is already signed" message. Then running codesign -dv said "code object is not signed at all" Older solutions said to use -f to force signing, but that is no longer an option.

Hi, I have some doubts about certificates expiration given this "new" requirement around signing for some common third party SDKs: https://developer.apple.com/support/third-party-SDK-requirements/ Use case: I build an SDK that will be distributed as an XCFramework and will be used in AppStore apps from different people. My SDK internally uses some other third party libraries that are integrated as binaries Let's assume some of those third party libraries are from the list above and therefore seem to be required to be signed. I distribute my SDK with all in order (third party SDKs from that list with valid signatures) People using my SDK over the time provide an update to their apps on the AppStore but by then some of the third party libraries of my SDK has an expired certificate. What would happen? People using my SDK won't have any issues as far as my SDK has a valid signature (despite third party libraries from the list have expired signatures) People using my SDK will get a warning about it but still will be able to submit to the AppStore. In that case, would AppStore Review process decline the update? People using my SDK will get an error, not being able to submit to the AppStore and will require me an update version of the SDK with those third party libraries re-signed. My understanding is that all would work as far as my SDK has a valid signature (after all is the one taking responsibility of the code inside), independently of what happens with the signature of those libraries themselves, am I correct?.

I am on a mission to secure our key material for our iOS app's code signing certificate. My first endeavor with storing the code signing certificate on a YubiKey is a marginal success - it seems that with a pin policy that requires entering the PIN at least once we must enter the PIN umpteen times per build. Creating a certificate with a policy of never would be ill-advised. On the other hand, we could chose to store the code signing certificate in the Secure Enclave. However, it seems that I am only allowed to create eliptic curve private keys and not RSA keys in the secure enclave. When I attempt to upload a certificate signing request to AppStoreConnect, I am told that only an RSA2048 key will do. What I am after is a way to authenticate access to the certificate once per boot so that we can make multiple builds per day without manual intervention whilst also ensuring that the key material is not stored on disk. A yubikey would be preferable, but I am fine with the secure enclave if need be. Is there a way to achieve this? Best regards, Emīls
