code signature validation failed fatally - Unsatisfied Entitlements
Hello, We have a working application with several entitlements - com.apple.developer.endpoint-security.client and com.apple.developer.team-identifier. Recently, the Developer ID signing certificate expired and we created a new one according to the instructions on the website. Also the provisioning profile for those entitlements expired so we edited it to use the new certificate. We built using xcodebuild in a script and signed with codesign, We supply the certificate id and the entitlement in a plist file like this : codesign --timestamp --force --sign "${application_signature}" --options=runtime "${obj}" --entitlements "${SR_ENTITLEMENT_PATH}" (those env vars hold the correct values for the cert id and plist path as far as we checked). The signing works and looks ok with "codesign -dvvv": (XXXX replaces the real file name for privacy) Signature size=9050 Authority=Developer ID Application: XXXXXX. (XXXXX) Authority=Developer ID Certification Authority Authority=Apple Root CA Timestamp=16 Oct 2025 at 11:09:53 AM Info.plist=not bound TeamIdentifier=XXXXX Runtime Version=14.5.0 Sealed Resources=none Internal requirements count=1 size=184 [Dict] [Key] com.apple.application-identifier [Value] [String] XXXXX.com.XXXX.XXXX [Key] com.apple.developer.endpoint-security.client [Value] [Bool] true [Key] com.apple.developer.team-identifier [Value] [String] XXXXXX` But when the app need to run it is killed and the console shows the following: amfid: /private/tmp/XXXXX not valid: Error Domain=AppleMobileFileIntegrityError Code=-420 "The signature on the file is invalid" UserInfo={NSURL=file:///private/tmp/XXXXX, NSLocalizedDescription=The signature on the file is invalid} kernel: mac_vnode_check_signature: /private/tmp/CybereasonSensor: code signature validation failed fatally: When validating /private/tmp/XXXXX: Code has restricted entitlements, but the validation of its code signature failed. We didn't change any code or build differently (it's done by a CI jenkins job. So if the file is signed and the and has the entitlements why does it fail? what should be done? Thanks, Boaz

Terminal command to show team for signing identity
In our local test configurations, a developer can sign test apps for device installation using any key associated with the company team. However, if a developer accidentally chooses an identity from some other team, installation fails with no information about the problem. It just mentions that no provisioning profile could be found, leaving everyone in the dark about what is wrong. Instead, we would like to pre-validate the selected signing identity by checking the team name or id. This could be done, for example, by extracting the x509 certificate from the signing identity and checking the "OU" field (which is set to the team id). However, none of the apple commands will divulge the x509 certificate from a developer id. So far our best options is to create a fake app, sign the app, then use command: codesign --display --extract-certificates This solution seems excessively serpentine. Is there no direct command that will accept the sha of a signing identity and return a nice .pem containing the associated certificate chain? Or, better yet, is there a command that takes the signing identity and simply returns the name or id of the associated team?

notary tool consistently delay for 1 of my app even it already accepted multiple times
Hi, I recently got a consistent delay from notary tool. I have viewed all your suggestions and understand that it "occasionally" will have further review and take longer time, but then it will be faster. However, in my case, my app although is accepted many times. It is still significantly delay. It is a native macOS app called ConniePad. Whenever I submit, it took me 2 days or more to finish notarise, which significantly affect my business. Could you please have a look on it. Unable to remove certificate from xcode
I have certificates in my xcode>settings>account>manage certificates that I cannot get rid of. I know that they are linked to certificates in developer.apple.com but I've removed them from there and they persist in xcode. I have one that says "Not in Keychain", which is true. I deleted all the keychains related to these accounts in an attempt to fix something. I also have ones that say things like "Missing Private key" Our setup is that we have one main account "Company Inc." which I am setup to be an Admin in. I created a certificate under my credentials and added it to my keychain and showed up properly in xcode but I still have the other ones. HOW DO I REMOVE THEM :sob:

Third party SDKs signing requirement and expiration
Hi, I have some doubts about certificates expiration given this "new" requirement around signing for some common third party SDKs: https://developer.apple.com/support/third-party-SDK-requirements/ Use case: I build an SDK that will be distributed as an XCFramework and will be used in AppStore apps from different people. My SDK internally uses some other third party libraries that are integrated as binaries Let's assume some of those third party libraries are from the list above and therefore seem to be required to be signed. I distribute my SDK with all in order (third party SDKs from that list with valid signatures) People using my SDK over the time provide an update to their apps on the AppStore but by then some of the third party libraries of my SDK has an expired certificate. What would happen? People using my SDK won't have any issues as far as my SDK has a valid signature (despite third party libraries from the list have expired signatures) People using my SDK will get a warning about it but still will be able to submit to the AppStore. In that case, would AppStore Review process decline the update? People using my SDK will get an error, not being able to submit to the AppStore and will require me an update version of the SDK with those third party libraries re-signed. My understanding is that all would work as far as my SDK has a valid signature (after all is the one taking responsibility of the code inside), independently of what happens with the signature of those libraries themselves, am I correct?.

Entitlement missing - Application is agent (UIElement)
I have an app that runs as a status bar app, mostly. I have set the following in the info.plist file for the app: <key>Application is agent (UIElement)</key> <true/> However, I get a compile error: Provisioning profile Mac Team Provisioning Profile: yout.Drive doesn't include the Application is agent (UIElement) entitlement. Checking the entitlements, I do not see this entitlement anywhere. Where and how do I set this?

Notarization taking 12+ hours
I submitted a Mac application for a safari ad blocker extension about 15 hours ago and it's still in progress. Is it normal for notarization to take this long? It's my first time submitting something for notarization so maybe that's why it's taking longer than expected? ID: 8BDB3D5E-3A42-469F-9479-AC76229C6BB5

Maximum Development Certificates?
I recently had to update my certificates for a project. I deleted a few old ones, and I currently have one Development certificate. I needed to create another Development certificate specifically, it's saying "Maximum number of certificates generated." I thought the maximum was two Development certificates? Has anyone else had this issue? Thinking it could be a stuck workflow or something like that.

TestFlight warning when uploading macOS app via Transporter
I'm attempting to upload an updated version of our macOS app for distribution via the App Store. We've done this without issue before, but I am now receiving a warning when I upload the app via Transporter: "Cannot be used with TestFlight because the signature for the bundle at “AXON Studio.app” is missing an application identifier but has an application identifier in the provisioning profile for the bundle. Bundles with application identifiers in the provisioning profile are expected to have the same identifier signed into the bundle in order to be eligible for TestFlight." (90886) I just recently started seeing this warning when I upload our application via Transporter. Before this warning started happening, I was using the exact same process and scripts to build/package/codesign our application. NOTE: we are not using Xcode to build our application, so we can't take advantage of any codesigning/packaging automation provided by Xcode (the app is written in C#/.NET 6.0), so we are doing all build/package/codesign steps using the appropriate macOS command line utilities. Also, I have verified that the app bundle and its contents have valid signatures. Does anyone have any idea what may have changed to cause this warning, or how I might go about determining the root cause so I can fix it?

Xcode Automatic Signing Fails with App Groups - Provisioning profile "Mac Team Provisioning Profile : com.example.testapp.mobile" doesn't support the App Groups capability.
Xcode automatic signing consistently fails for the macOS target when adding the App Groups capability, even though the Developer Portal is correctly configured. Error: Provisioning profile “Mac Team Provisioning Profile: com.example.testapp.mobile” doesn’t support the App Groups capability. Setup: • Bundle ID: com.example.testapp.mobile • App Group: $(TeamIdentifierPrefix)group.com.example.testapp.mobile Troubleshooting Steps Tried (None Helped): • Changed bundle identifiers and deleted/recreated them in the Developer Portal • Deleted and recreated App Groups • Removed and re-added the developer account in Xcode • Deleted all provisioning profiles from the system • Cleared Derived Data and Xcode caches • Even tried on a clean macOS system This setup used to work previously. The issue seems to have started after the Apple Developer account was renewed.

macOS Malware Warning Despite Successful Notarization Validation
Hello, I recently had my Electron app notarized by Apple and then performed the following steps: Stapling the Notarization Ticket: xcrun stapler staple "appPath/Aiparalegal.app" Zipping the App for Distribution: ditto -c -k --keepParent "appPath/Aiparalegal.app" theAIParalegal.zip However, after unzipping and attempting to launch the app, macOS displays the following message: Apple could not verify "theAIParalegal" is free of malware that may harm your Mac or compromise your privacy. Yet, when I run validation using: xcrun stapler validate "theAIParalegal.app" I receive confirmation: The validate action worked! spctl -a -vvv -t install "theAIParalegal.app" theAIParalegal.app: accepted source=Notarized Developer ID origin=Developer ID Application: NIPartnership LLC (M92N2796Q9) Could you help me understand why the notarization validation appears successful, yet macOS still displays this security warning? Any advice on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Keychain Data Recovery After App ID Prefix Update
We had an issue with IDrive Online Backup which has started discussing on the Developer forum at https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/756904 and as suggested raised a technical support ticket Case-ID: 7747625. At last the old legacy bundle ID prefix changed to to the new Team ID prefix. As a result  one-time loss of keychain data occurs, however we requested and were granted an additional keychain capability that allowed access to keychain data stored under the old legacy prefix, even after transitioning to the new Team ID prefix. We are currently facing a similar challenge with our other application, IBackup. As with the earlier case, we had a mismatch between the App ID prefix and the Team ID, which we resolved by updating the prefix to match the Team ID. Again now encountered a blocker with Keychain data recovery. We have already requested the additional Keychain capability that would allow access to keychain data stored under the old legacy prefix, even after transitioning to the new Team ID prefix. Unfortunately, the team responsible for this has some uncertainty about the process. Please review the details under case 102398017929 and extend this capability to our application to ensure a seamless user experience.
