Duo and iPad button layout guidance

Hi,

With the Duo's guidance on side-aligned vertical toolbar buttons, is there any updated guidance on iPad toolbar button placement?

It would seem natural for an app on iPad Mini, for example, to have the same toolbar placement and layout as it does on a Duo.

The vertical bar layout guidance is specific to iPhone Duo.

Designing for iPhone Duo HIG states:

Although iPhone Duo is a new form factor, keep in mind that you're still designing for iPhone, and Designing for iOS patterns and best practices still apply.

At the time of this message, there is no new guidance on iPad toolbar placement.

No, the iPad layout is the same as before. The Duo is a new device and new format.
