MacBook Air icon does not show in airdrop

That is not exactly a development issue, but more a Mac configuration (which may hide other problems ?).

I use a new MacBookAir with MacOS 26.

When I Airdrop from another Mac (15.7.8) the MacBookAir does not show any icon but a blank area, whilst other devices show their icons:

That seems an old issue with MacBookAir: https://www.reddit.com/r/macbookair/comments/1benu4o/blank_airdrop_icon/

Beside this, Airdrop works OK.

Just as if the MacBookAir icon was missing in some system file ?

Has anyone a solution ?

Thanks for the bug @Claude31 as always great description, however your question seems related to a consumer feature and is better suited for the Apple Support Communities as this is not in a beta version. I would suggest to post the question there to get better visibility for AirDrop:

I would recommend to upload the sysdiagnose instead of that PNG so the team will be able to see there errors, otherwise I'm afraid there are no actionable items to review.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Albert.

I’ll do the sysdiagnose. But as it appears a long standing but (cf the referenced Reddit post) I had hoped the bug was already isolated and soon corrected.

Isn’t it the case ?

Unfortunately I do not comment on bug in the forums. I would recommend, if you want, to upload the sysdiagnose to make sure gets review and routed to the correct team who will let you know the status on the bug using Feedback Assistant.

Done. I have attached a sysDiagnose to FB24034384 whilst Airdrop was displaying the dialog with blank icon.

@Claude31 Thanks! We will route it to the correct team for review. Appreciate your help on this.
